I'm thinking about the Norwegian Fjords in summer 2023. I'd like to see the midnight sun. I'd also like to see Geirangerfjord. I love beautiful scenery, but I'm not really a hiker. I don't want a whole lot of sea days. (I have also been to England and Scotland - including Edinburgh and the Orkneys so don't want to spend extra time doing that.) I'm looking for at least 11 nights, but probably more.
I've looked at Hurtigruten's regular coastal trips, but, since they generally don't stop in ports for very long, their excursions are very expensive because they always have to get you to another port to pick up the ship.
Hurtigruten Expedition cruises are round trip Hamburg, so they have sea days at start and finish. I can't really tell which excursions are included and which are not; their website isn't particularly clear on it.
I looked a Viking's Into the Midnight Sun, which only has London at one end (Bergen is the other), but it spends too much time in Scotland for my taste, with only 5 excursions in Norway.
Can anyone direct me to other cruise lines (preferably on small to medium sized vessels) that might have something for me? (They don't have to have 2023 schedules up yet; I'm happy to see what they have planned to 2022 as an idea of what 2023 would be like.) Are there any ports that you particularly consider to be must-sees?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Oceania has a Norwegian cruise July 23-8 Aug ‘23. that we are booked on. Copenhagen to Tromso. So except for Copenhagen. All Norway including Bergen and fjords.

Us as well, I am very concerned about what the cruise experience will be like when it does restart.
Yep---we've never taken Oceania shore excurisions, only private independent ones or on our own. I will not cruise if I have to take an excursion with more than 8 people. Currently scheduled for june 21 Oslo-London---without a vaccine we will prob postpone or cancel.

Just a word to the wise on the replacement cruises:
Beware of Feb. 1 departures. It's Super Bowl weekend in Miami. Getting a hotel room will be a problem and flights are likely to be high priced. Getting O's air might be an option to get around those problems. We normally drive in and could not get a stay and cruise reservation like we usually do. Parking at the port may be very interesting that day.
Yes--we are on the 1 Feb cruise as well and rethinking how we are getting there--we may do a road trip from MD visiting friends along the way and then park near the airport and uber into the port.

So thrilled to see these pics. Best wishes to Bob and Betsy--so glad we met, even if it was just briefly on the Rome leg. There is a time for every purpose under heaven...today love abounds, so happy for you both.

We used the 7 bottle wine package on Insignia this past June. As already stated, the sommelier will store your bottle till the next meal you would like to have. We never tried taking them to our cabin, but don't know why that wouldn't be allowed. We did try to get someone to retrieve it outside of meals (at the lounge, I think) and we were told it was not possible. I have mixed feelings about the package. Although we did drink our 7 bottles during the course of the 16 day cruise, we had to push it because we didn't always want wine with lunch (or we were usually not on board). Also when eating at Terrace Cafe it was sometimes hard to find the sommelier and they were always busy so the wine didn't always show up when we wanted it eg we were almost done with our meal! This was not an issue in the Grand Dining room or speciality restaurants, but we like the Terrace Cafe and eat there often. I doubt we will use it again though it did get me to try some different wines. The price per bottle with gratuity included (47.00) is cheaper then I believe any bottle you can buy outside of the package...i may have the list somewhere. If I find it I will take a pic of it....

Wow! Such fantastic news! Praising God for answered prayer. I’ve been following this thread since Jan and boarded in Rome, meeting Bob and Betsy the first night. As we talked about the ATW cruise he said, “ the best thing was meeting my girlfriend, Betsy!” So thrilled with this news. Congrats and May God bless you both for years to come!

We are on Riviera on May 15th. One of our party of 5 is not particularly fond of Asian cuisine and is concerned about the spiciness of the foods available on the menu. Does anyone have any comments or recommendations on the Red Ginger menu? We currently have a reservation there but could skip it if the food is considered spicy. thanks!
I don’t do spicy and Red Ginger has plenty of non-spicy dishes. It was our fav specialty restaurant on riviera.
