Darn all of you! When I clicked on this thread I was thinking "why the heck would I ever need these??" - now I'm over on Amazon figuring out which ones to buy.

You will never go back! I’m packing for a month away including 3 cruises. Don’t be afraid to overfill them. Wrinkles go away

Love packing cubes! They definitely save space and help prevent wrinkles. When we have an overnight before cruise or extended hotel check in, I pack one with our clothes to wear the next day. Less to unpack and rearrange. They also fit nicely in cabin drawers.

I bought mine through eBags when on sale, but also found them discounted at TJ Maxx

SAS costs 13 to. 15 dollars per person and have been very reliable for us.

 

What price is Lyft and which shuttle companies should we avoid?

Lyft is around $30-35 door to door from FLL. I won’t use hotel or hotel arranged shuttles. They’ve always been more expensive, take longer and seldom leave or arrive on schedule

We used Lyft to and from the port from FLL and had great service. I won’t use a shuttle service again. They’re more expensive and unreliable

That airfare cost is outrageous. You asked about Amtrak info, which I cannot help you with but did you consider flying Southwest from PHL to Ft Lauderdale? Southwest also flies into FLL from Newark and Baltimore, as other possibilities.

Wherever Amtrak stops, you could take Lyft or UBER to port

We just reached Gold when they adjusted the levels. I called and found out they grandfathered everyone to the level achieved. More points to reach platinum but we’ll do it with 2 double points cruises

If you're worried about drawer space, try packing cubes. They really help maximize space in your luggage and then fit perfectly in storage spaces onboard.

I take a collapsible mesh hamper for dirty clothes for longer cruises, but nothing else. It fits under the desk easily

Our 11-17 sailing is fine. I'm sure they're working on the earliest itineraries first. I'm expecting changes since we most likely won't be stopping at St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

I'm sure the ports want to be up and running as soon as possible for tourism income. I can't imagine the massive coordination between islands and multiple cruise lines. I'm planning to enjoy our mid November cruise knowing we may miss St. Maarten and St. Thomas, but will still have our vacation

We drive there, but do a search for port shuttles. Super shuttle is always most expensive. We used Prime Time from port of LA to home and it was significantly cheaper and less crowded. Might also search for hotels with shuttles to port

We have a southern route in mid November and I'm not sure we'll get to St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Always a possibility that they'll work hard to get the port and close beach areas as soon as possible to get some tourist $$. The interior will take much longer to rebuild

It's not just getting off the ship. A couple years ago our arrival back in port was delayed 2+ hours after going off course related to passenger transport for a medical emergency. I always book flights for late afternoon
