Apparently they asked Tom Hanks to 'star' in a film about it....but he said it was too much like Apollo 13.

First Azipod broke down 10th December, so they've been limping for 2 months. Great plan NCL!

On ship now.....it was like Xmas day unwrapping a gift you didn't know what was in the wrapping. Just got handed the itinerary. Brilliant! I knew I could rely on the NCL website to be wrong.... the itinerary is as per version 3. Phew. Nha Trang still on.

I've just been on to the NCL website to check if the itinerary has been updated and it shows the one above....please god I hope it's wrong! It's been incorrect for the last 3 weeks after each change (3 changes) so let's hope they are following form! If it's correct this is nothing more than a ferry crossing to Hong Kong, stopping over in Vietnam.

Further to that, we received an itinerary from NCL UK on Jan 2nd stating another itinerary but dated before the one I received on the 30th Dec. We told NCL that we thought it was out of date to which a day later they said "oh yes you are correct, I hadn't opened my emails from after the Holiday break, sorry". NCL aspire to the heady heights of being incompetent. [emoji23]

This should be the correct one....but let's wait and see.
I went into Ripleys Believe It Or Not today in Singapore....and there was a picture of NCL!

We received a 4th itinerary this morning showing the previous version 3 itinerary. I also checked the NCL website and it showed what BettyNL says. We've emailed NCL who confirmed they sent the wrong one out to us this morning and the version 3 one is correct. Crystal clear! NCL communications are laughable.

Oh...and had it verbally confirmed over the phone by two separate consultants.

Sent direct from NCL. We haven't booked thru an agent so all of our comms have been direct from NCL like this one.

Hi Aburn, we are from the UK and this is the latest itinerary we have.

I think that's the common thread Susan0000. It's the complete lack of communication right from the start, the promise of calls back that never materialise etc. We've had exactly the same experience. We've cruised with NCL before and it was excellent although there were no problems. The mark of true customer excellence is what happens when things go wrong. We can all be superstars when things go perfectly. Some people are in privileged positions to be able to cruise a lot each year, some spend 2 years saving for a cruise of a lifetime and some have life long dependencies tied into their trips, what's clear is that 'one size doesn't fit all'. Let's hope NCL step up to the plate eventually.

Totally agree. However Respect and Professionalism is a two way street wouldn't you agree?

I think that's the main thing. Our group of four arrived in Singapore today for a few days hols before the cruise. We are all of the mind that we are going to have a great time and enjoy it to the full. Really pleased Nha Trang is back on too. [emoji2]

Hi Aburn09,
There was a previous thread on here with regard to a complaints mediation service (The Federal Maritime Commission) as a possible avenue to go down. We have contacted them and received a case number and an assigned case worker. This may be a route for you and others too.
Email: complaints@fmc.gov
Hope this helps you and others?

However, when I ring UK NCL stating that a change has appeared on a forum thread and can they confirm if this is the case.....but they can't?!! Alexander Graham Bell would turn in his grave! A simple phone call to the US office to confirm surely doesn't take 2 days?! If the cruise were 3 months down the line it wouldn't be an issue....but 6 days before it departs....I would expect a degree of urgency. That's shambolic in my book!

We booked direct with NCL and communication has been nothing short of shambolic. We heard of 3rd itinerary change on here, two days before NCL UK knew anything about it. We only had official confirmation from them this morning.

Hi all,
For all the European passengers....I've just spoken to a guy called Alessandro from NCL who has confirmed the new itinerary change posted on here. He said European guests will be receiving confirmation shortly. Hope this helps?

Hi all,
Apparently it's been updated in the US as they were back to work yesterday. The European side of NCL was still on Xmas shutdown yesterday so that might explain why there is a delay in getting the revised itinerary out perhaps?
Come on NCL it's a small world now in communications....someone press a button!

Anyone Had Their Norwegian Star Refund Yet ?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
Hi, we were on the January 5th cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong and were refunded the 20% (minus port fees) whilst we were still away. However, we had already rejected this prior to sailing and are still going through the disputes process.
