What steps were taken toward the Medallion service. I understand that the mailboxes have been eliminated and that LCD screens have been installed. Are medallions used to gain entrance to cabins? Or do you still insert a key card in the door? 

Do the TV screen around the ship respond to your presence?

When I got the Princess email. I signaled my travel agent that we wanted to book the 111 day LA to LA. This was a few days before booking started. On the first day, my travel agent got us a Baja balcony. She indicated that the booking were going astonishingly fast

Cannot be too bad if customers are booking like crazy.

We did a pair of Panama Canal cruises back-to-back on the Island Princess and loved it.

I'm cruising on the Grand Princess next year and I have a concern about booking a mid-ship cabin because I have seen posts and even a video online (circa 2014) about the mid-ship stairs restricted to crew only between decks 8-12. The travel agent said she checked with her Princess rep AND the Princess rep's supervisor who said the mid-ship stairs ARE accessible to guests, and perhaps accessible now since the last remodel was in 2016.

 

Anyone sail in the last year on the Grand Princess have any insight into the mid-ship stairs?

A few years ago, we sailed on a sister ship of the Grand, the Star. It had the Skywalkers and a mid-ship set of general-use stairs. Since then, we have sailed on the Grand several times. On the Grand, the Skywalkers was removed. The general-use stairwells are only forward and aft. In mid-ships, the stairwell only provides access to the Piazza deck levels (in addition to the spirally stairs in the Piazza itself).

Just got off the Grand this morning. It was a great cruise even though it was a little chilly and there were very few whale sightings. We did get blue bags and we could eat all we wanted at the Crown Grill with no additional charge. We had the $99 all-inclusive photo package and came home with 101 pictures :)

How did you get the all-you-can-eat in the Crown Grill for free?

any out there that might help me with pictures or review of stateroom #c-702 thanks in advance for any and all info :)

I recently asked for comments on B703 and got assurances that it was a good cabin.

We have sailed on the Grand Princess four times and are booked for six more. Clearly, we really like it.
