  1. Ok, my wife and I are going in March 2017 on a Royal Carib Cruise stopping in Cozumel. Looking at the excursions for this stop the two that interest us are the Coba Pyramid & Cenote or the trip to Chichen Itza. Both trips I note are 8 hours and the price for Coba is a bit less, but for the price difference it does not matter to us.

I have a few questions and welcome feedback from other before purchasing either trip.

My first biggest question is how much time will we have at Chichen Itza and how much time at both the Coba Pyramid.

Second question is what is the deal with cameras. Can I use my digital camera at Chichen Itza, there was some crazy comments about taking my camera (which I won't do) at the entrance. If I had to pay say $10 US to bring it in - okay.

Third question is are the crowds that bad at Chichen or are they bad at both sites. I've read where Coba Pyramid was a lot less people.

Fourth and last question - what is the swim part at the Cenote like. With my digital camera do I have to swim or can I get some good pic's without swimming or what do I do with my camera.

I certainly welcome feedback and how your experience went with either location.

    Thanks,

    Ed

  2. Very good info. My wife and I are going in March 2017 on Royal Carib and assume the trip will be much the same as it is titled the same. Sounds like we made a good choice for this excursion. Would you suggest shorts to wear with sun screen or would you recommend a thin wick away long pants. I would prefer shorts, but am 60 years old. Appreciate your advice.

  3. Hi, we are new to Cruise Critic so bear with us for this question.

In March my wife and I are thinking of doing the Royal Carib excursion called "Lobsters, Iguanas, & Reef Snorkeling" excursion.

Any comments from anyone who has done this excursion & can provide how they felt about this excursion is appreciated.

How is the snorkeling part of the excursion. My wife I would say is not a strong swimmer and usually snorkeling off a boat uses a life preserver to just float around with her face in the water - so we are not looking for anything dramatic regarding snorkeling - just some easy fun, maybe see some fish or lobsters.

    All feedback appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ed
