  1. My daughter and I were in the Massive Suite, after 3 cancellations, paid same as original May 2020 Cheeky Corner Suite. She slept in the second room which was made up into a Full sized bed and I had the King so there IS a possible 2 bed option but the cost now is probably prohibitive for most. She also had the half bath for everything but showering which made it nice when travelling with someone other than a spouse.

Has anyone sailed out of the Port of Miami recently and were you able to connect to the ship's wifi to make brunch and/or show reservations pre boarding?

I'm leaving in 29 days and  know "it is what it is" but would definitely arrive earlier if I can bag some reservations before getting on board.

    Thanks for the help friends...

I am on board now and was not able to get the ship's connection until I boarded. It didn't show up as an option.

Could have been my phone but probably not. We have had to change our path due to high winds. Duel Reality was rescheduled twice and never happened due to dangerous rocking and rolling so even though I got the reservation,  I missed out.

All in all, we are having a good time, 2000 passengers.

  3. I am so glad you had a relatively stress free trip!

Can you please do me a favor and let me know if Slam Allen is still on board. He is the best Bluesman who plays in On the Rocks. I saw him last December on Scarlet Lady and he is so talented.

My daughter saw him on Valiant Lady when she was in the Med so I am hoping his Contract isn't up yet.

Have a Wonderful time! Thanks for everything you are about to share with all of us!

    Cheryl

  4. Tacocat, I am on the December Cruise. I believe we both were on the Scarlet Lady Cruise last December!

I have to admit, I haven't really paid much attention to how this all works.

If I had it booked prior to you, can we still do the Loot? Please let me know what you need me to do so we can take advantage of it.

    Thanks!

  5. FlyingCruiser, You will love the Suite! My favorite times were when we ordered Room Service Breakfast and ate outside on the table. The indoor and outdoor round seating areas are really a waste because you cannot stretch out due to the angles, or curves, actually.

I did spend a lot of time lying on the Bunny Pad. The Hammocks are strung up like a standard one between 2 poles, not like the hanging types on the rest of the ship so I didn't use those. Maybe Gigi and Brad would get in and out easier than me!

  6. I sailed in the Massive Suite in December. You do not have access to the front area. Although I never saw anyone, I am pretty sure it is accessible to Crew.

You definitely can get looked down on from Richard's Rooftop. It was kind of funny to see the silhouettes of folks peeking through the opening in the glass and spying on our hot tub!

There are lights on the steps up to the bunny pad which are turned on via the light switch by the door in the bathroom.

When they hose off the Rooftop at night the water all flows down onto your deck and the painted floor gets quite slippery so be careful in the morning.

  7. I sailed in December and had both a Massage and Acupuncture Sessions. The prices are comparable to other Lines but you do need to understand that there will not be any gratuity added in.

I tried to tip after my massage and she told me they are not allowed to take any form of gratuity, cash or room charge.

Taking that into account, the prices are less than other lines.

I understand that you can get a much better "deal" on land but I feel it is all part of the experience and I always put it into my budget. Different strokes....

I did tip my Roadie and Room Stewards and Servers around the ship. They all were grateful and took it without question.

I also was told No Thank You when I tried to tip after my manicure. Maybe the Salon and Spa employees are not direct VV hires so they are following different rules.

I am sorry if this has moved into a Gratuity conversation!

  8. I sailed with my daughter a week ago. I was the "primary" and did most in my App but she downloaded it and did some of her info that I couldn't enter prior to boarding.

I paid for everything on my credit card but found she did use the App quite a bit when on board. She could order room service and look up activities so I think your wife may find it useful to have it.

Perhaps, she can just enter your credit card info herself.

The day before, we both got e mails allowing us to book our Covid tests.

Trust me, it is not the smoothest experience before you sail but you will forget everything once you step on board and get the first smile from that fabulous crew! (Even through the mask, you can see their enthusiasm!)

It is like childbirth, the pain seems to disappear from your memory!

    Enjoy!

  9. Hi Craig. Thanks for the information. I sail in 3 weeks with my daughter.

Did you try out the Spa?

We are in the Massive Suite, due to 4 cancellations and the rolling over of FCC. It looks like the people enjoying Richard's Rooftop can look directly down onto the outdoor area of the Suite. Is this true? I am probably the last person anyone would want to gawk down on but it is giving me a moment of worry!

We are being picked up from our Hotel. The only correspondence I got was that they received my request and will "see us then". Do they make more firm arrangements closer to the day of?

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks for the offer of letting us live vicariously through your Inaugural Journey! I think, I may remember that you will be in a Suite. If so, could you please let me know something about the Rooftop? Like you, I have been cancelled numerous times so I will be sailing in the Massive Suite because of all of the rollover credit. From what I can tell, it looks like if you are standing in Richard's Rooftop, you may be able to look directly down onto the Massive Suite deck area. Just want to be prepared in case I have spectators from above! Enjoy yourself and thanks!

  11. First of all, a HUGE Thank you to all of out UK friends who have been givng us our first taste of the VV experience!

I am wondering if anyone can share what the food options are for disembarkation day? Is the Galley open for a quick bite, or are any of the restaurants open? If so, until what time?

  12. I know I won't get many people to agree with me but this has turned into a major bonus for me. I hope others can jump soon and do what I did.

I was originally booked on the May 22 five night by myself in a Biggest Cheeky Corner Suite.

When it was canceled, I switched to the 7 night New Year's Voyage and added my daughter at no additional cost for the same cabin thanks to the 200% Future Cruise Credit.

I just called this morning and have now flipped that to 2 different cruises on Valiant Lady for a total of 20 nights.

I am taking a 6 day Caribbean Cruise in November 2021 with my daughter and in May 2022 I am on the 14 night Transatlantic from Miami to Barcelona. The Biggest Cheeky Corner was already unavailable (temporarily) so I grabbed the Gorgeous Suite with all of the Mega amenities! I did have to pay an additional $564 because I purchased the Voyage Protection.

It is still a wash because I had prepaid for my Miami hotel stay and got $700 credit this morning when I cancelled my December visit.

I am a fan of Virgin and this just makes me more of a believer.

  13. It took about 5 days for it to come up right for me.

I added my daughter to the reservation and in my Account it shows I need to put her info in before March 23 or her Insurance will be cancelled. I have put it in repeatedly and it just comes up as, "Something is wrong."

I will try for a couple more days then call by the 22nd to make sure.

I do show I owe $500 because I added her but my final payment isn't until August so I am not paying it yet.

I am wondering if I may need to pay it for the Insurance to kick in.

  14. I was scheduled for May 22 and was going on an NCL Cruise with my daughter this New Year's Eve.

I called, took the call back option and in 2 hours they called me.

With the 200% Offer, I am now on the New Year's Eve Cruise, got a $500 OBC, which I didn't have before since I booked on February 14, have added my daughter to the reservation and they owe me about $25. The Cruise is 7 days vs. the 5 original.

I will be getting the money I had paid for the Beverages and Shore Excursions back.

I am in the same exact cabin, a Cheeky Corner Suite.

I don't need to shell out any money to pay for the NCL Cruise, and will cancel by August so I will be getting my full deposit back.

Other than not having anything planned for Memorial Day anymore, I feel I made out REALLY Well!

If you do rebook, make sure you ask for the Cruise Protection. He credited it back to me but didn't add it onto the new reservation until I asked about it.

  15. I have a Cheeky Corner Suite booked for May. When trying to decide whether I would need the $300 ($400) Bar Package, I called and asked what was included in the Room Set Up.

He read me a list and it sounds like the basic set up of any Hotel Mini Bar. It will not be replenished. There will be one of each, small Vodka, Gin, etc.  as well as one of each Red, White Wines, Beers, and mixers and Red Bull.

Since I don't drink anything other than Red Wine and Whiskey, and don't like Red Bull, I bought the Drink Package.

I asked what will be included in the Villas on Bimini and he said it will be the same set up. I can use the $400 towards that too.

I am hoping that I can make friends with some other Suite Guests and maybe we can all do a Swap of what we do and don't want!
