I just got the drink package for $49 and the drink + voom package for my hubby for $58.  I had to call to order two slightly different packages rather than using the internet.  I thought that was a pretty good deal.  My sailing is Oct 27.

Wow that's a good price! I just looked and the RCCL page says $61 pp.

  2. I'd like to know where I can find a quiet place to read on sea days but still be near a bar for my beer or scotch. Maybe the observation lounge or whatever it is now called? I don't mind jazz or classical music but not loud rock. I realize there may be a lot of noise from people talking nearby, or shudder kids playing videos without earphones.

The Spinnaker lounge during the day is quiet. The bar isn't always open though so you need to check the day sheet. You could always bring a drink from another bar like Champs.

  3. So am I correct in reading that you are not allowed to bring bottled water on board anymore? I was recently on Royal and they didn't seem to have any issue with it. I can understand alcohol but water?

To many people switching water out for Vodka to sneak onboard. Buy the UBP package and skip the water.

  4. There is a bar on the lower level of the main atrium just outside one of the MDR's. Sorry, can't remember the name but its a great place to people watch and listen to music while you wait on your table for dinner. We found the bar service to be great as well.

The "Atrium Cafe and Bar" is what it's called.

  5. Just scheduled with Norwegian Sun for June 8, Inside "guarantee" cabin. Slightly apprehensive. I normally sail on Holland America...and, never had an inside room. I hope we made a good decision. This was an impromptu trip with a friend. Wish me luck...lol.

The inside on the Sun are larger than most imo. It was like a travel trailer with a slide out if that makes sense. We were on the 18 day Panama Canal transition cruise and the inside was comfortable.

  6. lol. We did Disney as our first cruise a few years ago, only because we got a fantastic last-minute rate. Something like $2,500 for 4 of us in an Oceanview. I've never been able to get it under $5,000 since. I found Disney slightly better than NCL, RCCL, and Carnival, but not so much so that its worth 50%-100% more money.

I meant Disney on land lol. She said don't gamble which some of us enjoy as entertainment. Some spend there money on other things like amusement parks and come home with the same loss IMO.
