  1. Hello.
We are going to Bonaire in April and our original tour we planned fell through so am looking for a way to see the island either our-self or via tour. My daughter is in a wheelchair and we prefer her to stay in it (be transported in it) but I could take her out of it and have her sit in seat of vehicle. Her wheelchair doesn't fold, but comes apart in two bulky pieces. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

When we rented a golf cart from Bonaire Cruisers there was a wheelchair user. He was able to bring his wheelchair on the golf cart.
He got a golfcart with a bed.

  2. If you know the answers to any of the following questions, please respond:
Cost of taxi from cruise port to airport or airport to cruise port (if we picked up a rental car from the airport)?
Is Queen's Highway only one-way? (Google maps won't let me plan a route from Rincon to 1000 Steps, without taking me back to Kralendijk)
Are there Lyft or Uber drivers on Bonaire?

queens highway is till 1000 steps 2 ways. After 1000 in the direction rincon it’s one way.
    No Uber on the island.

  3. I read on the Bonaire website about a "Nature Tag". Suggests you have to have one to enter the water around Klein Bonaire. Tags are $25/pp but I haven't seen anyone mention them here on cc. We are landsailing in the morning and thought about taking a ferry over to Klein Bonaire and didn't know if we needed these "Nature Tags". Thanks.

Cruise passengers don’t need a nature tag.

Hi all!  On our next cruise we’ll have 15 hours to explore Aruba and 14 hours in Bonaire.  With so much time on each island and multiple things we want to see and do, I was contemplating renting cars on both islands.  For those of you that have done this, are the islands easy to navigate?  Are the roads clearly marked and in good condition?  Is there anything unusual I need to be aware of? Thank you for any advice or information you can offer!

Rent a golf cart from @bonairecruisers  the best way to see the island. And tons of fun!

Kite city is not at Sorobon but at te amo beach across the airport. Nice beach also for snorkeling.

King Kong burgers is a little bit further at bachelor beach also great for snorkeling.

All beaches are pointed on the map.

  6. With the carts, it is ok to book in advance even if you might not use them. There is no deposit and if you don't show up, they will rent yours to someone else without a reservation.

Better let them know if you don’t show up!

So others have more time and don’t have to wait for 2 hours before they release the no shows!

  7. We are looking to rent a 4-person golf cart. Bonaire Cruisers seems to be highly recommended across the boards, however, they no longer have 4-person carts. I came across another company called bonaireapartment.com. Has anyone had any experience or information with this company? TIA

Bonaire apartments quit their golf cart business.

At this moment it’s only Bonaire Cruisers.

  10. Watertaxi on Bonaire sails every hour sometimes on ship days every half an hour. $20 round trip!

Drop of your towel at the beach and walk back for about 20 minutes. Enter the ocean and just float back don’t swim you wil miss a lot.

It takes about an hour to float back.

Snorkeling is great! But there are no facilities on the island.

  11. Bonaire Cruisers golf cart rentals on Bonaire is a great option.

They pick you up if necessary at their booth in front of the ship.

And bring you to their location 2 blocks further.

You can take a foldable wheelchair on the golf cart.

Or leave the scooter at their location.

It’s a great way to see the island on your own pace.

And so easy to navigate around. They provide and explain the map.

  12. We visit Bonaire 4 times, first time we did a bus-tour, second time a rental car. Last two visits we used a golf cart and boy did we love it. It’s so much different as in a rental car, feel the breeze the smell of the sea, your so much closer to nature as in a air conditioned car, you hear the birds see the iguanas. We love to snorkel you just hop off snorkel hop in and drive to the next stop! So easy and enjoyable! We love Bonaire Cruisers, the golf carts and service given from the staff. We can only recommend it to everyone!

  13. It's not the Beach Club staff that enforces the marine tag regulations, it's STINAPA and I'm told they do patrol the beaches, but I've not personally seen them checking for tags (though others have).

So far cruise ship tourists don’t need a marine tag. $10 for a snorkel tag is a valuable price to support the marine park.

You can buy them at every dive shop!

In front of spice beach is Wannadive!

  14. Going to be sailing in 23 days with 13 other people. Will have 8 children age ranged from 5yo to 11yo. I've noticed alot of people like to do the Klein Beach; however, i can't see spending that kind of money to go to a beach with no amenities, food or drink service. So, what else is there to do in Bonaire without breaking the bank - if anything? Would it be wiser to spend the day on the ship and take advantage of less crowds? But then again, pool is closed when in port as are bars etc. - correct?

    Thanks

Bonaire is an amazing island. Lots to see and to do! Explore by golfcart is a great way to see the island. Also the kids will love to see the island by golfcart.

Drive around on your own pace and stop where you want to stop!

The company is called Bonaire Cruisers

    Email: info@bonairecruisers.com

Highly recommended on TripAdvisor, Facebook and cruisecritic.

They reserve the carts via email without payment. You pay on the rental day.

Walk to divi flamingo resort, plaza resort or eden beach resort. Spice beach or coco beach.

  17. It's a great way to explore the island on your own pace. And it's safe to drive around. It's about 20 min. Driving to jibe city. But if you want to see some highlights also then drive the southpart and see salt mountains, slave huts, pink salt Bassins, donkey sanctuary, flamingos, lighthouse and end up at jibe city. This takes about 1,5 hour driving.
