  1. Long Beach seems to be preferable to San Pedro when it comes to booking hotels. Do any Long Beach hotels offer a shuttle to the port in San Pedro? If not, it seems like it would be a cheap Uber. Or am I better off just booking in San Pedro (looking at the DoubleTree).

This is what I see on Amber Cove’s website.  Doesn’t look good for your date on 1/9, or mine for 1/30.  😕

I know that there are many unforeseen circumstances that prevent a ship from docking, but, this is reasonably “foreseen” and feels like they are not being upfront and honest with their customers.

On the Dawn, scheduled to be in DR on 01/20. Looks like we might actually make this stop.

Though, is it weird that there are NO ships scheduled for that day?

Just to cherry pick one topic from this thread-  Have you Captain fans tried Sailor Jerry? If not, I recommend you try a Sailor J and Coke ( no Pepsi) and report back.  I’ll wait… 🙂

Not a fan of Sailor Jerry, but I'll take the 94 proof Kraken any day!! Also, on my last cruise, the casino only had Goslings, which also was not bad.

  4. This is the only thing I'm nervous about at this point. My physical card is handwritten for my first two shots and is somewhat illegible in spots. My third shot was noted by a sticker placed on my card with the version, the lot #, and the expiration date (not the date administered). I can download/print my vaccination record from my healthcare provider, but it's not the official vaccination card, so I hope that NCL will take that.

  5. Cruising from Tampa in March 2022. I want to book a hotel for the night before and the night after the cruise. We will NOT be renting a car. Finding a shuttle from the airport to the hotel has been easy, but would also like to find one with a shuttle to the pier. Searching the travel sites (Hotels, Priceline, etc) is not really easy to find that. Can anyone recommend such a hotel, or is it better to book through the cruise line (NCL in this case)?

  6. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how easy (or if possible) it is to change your reservation from one travel partner to another.

For example, if due to a divorce or breakup, one is not going to travel with the person originally booked for the cruise, but would like to take the cruise with a different companion.

  7. When we sailed, the communication as to the process was very poor. It took 2 1/2 days before we had solved the problem. Once it was figured out, we stuck to the main dining room. Ask to see the menu for the next meal, order what you want off of it, and they'll make it for you. My ex-wife had pancakes, eggs benedict, and other options that far exceeded her expectations.

  8. I know those of us that reserved with Stylus got absolutely screwed! Avoid them at all costs. I've heard people say it was an NCL problem, that it was a customs problem, and that it was a port problem. It took us roughly 1:15 to disembark and make it through customs. We waited, with a large group of people that continued to grow for three hours (some were there before us, even). At one point, a Stylus bus arrived with a group to drop off, and then the bus took off without picking anyone up. Finally, we got on a bus at 1pm. Got to the airport, through check-in and security and onto the plane with 9 minutes to spare. I know there was a large group going to Atlanta that was supposed to leave 10 minutes before our plane, and I'm sure they missed their flight.

Stylus tried to blame it on the traffic at the port, but we all witnessed other companies come and go multiple times while waiting for a shuttle. It was a damn shame and I'm still pissed about it.
