On the Dawn, I've done Moderno, Le Bistro, and the sushi place. Le Bistro was easily my least favorite (more of a service issue than anything. Moderno and sushi I've done twice each, and would definitely do either again!

Ah, yes!! I Did get the two confused! I was looking at the Amber Cove site, that has the three ships at Amber Cove that day (NCL isn't going to Taino Bay, correct?).
-
So, how do they determine which ship gets bumped? We're due on the Dawn on January 20, from 7am-4pm, but the Encore and a Celebrity Ship are due in at 11am.

Anyone else chuckling at the dueling reviews?

On the Dawn, scheduled to be in DR on 01/20. Looks like we might actually make this stop.
Though, is it weird that there are NO ships scheduled for that day?

Just to cherry pick one topic from this thread- Have you Captain fans tried Sailor Jerry? If not, I recommend you try a Sailor J and Coke ( no Pepsi) and report back. I’ll wait… 🙂
Not a fan of Sailor Jerry, but I'll take the 94 proof Kraken any day!! Also, on my last cruise, the casino only had Goslings, which also was not bad.

I'm an introvert. I hadn't done a ton of socializing on cruises. My fiance is quite the extrovert. She's also a smoker. On our last cruise (our first together), we socialized a ton and met some great people in the smoking area on the Dawn!

NCL is advertising that the 2nd guest cruises for free. However, when you select a cabin, it's double the per person price. Am I missing something?

If true, this will make me sad. I LOVE grabbing a bagel and smoked salmon from the buffet!! Cruising on Dawn in January, after having just cruised on her last March/April.
-
They had it on the Dawn at Topsiders last March. (I might have severely depleted their supply.) However, there was no Kraken (that I found) elsewhere on the ship. The casino kept me swimming in Goslings, which wasn't bad (something I hadn't tried before).

I ended up buying a couple Anker Powerport III 40W fast wall charger with dual USB C inputs. Hopefully, these will work!

Travelling in a standard balcony on the Dawn. Anyone know how many outlets there will be? Hoping for at least 3.

This is the only thing I'm nervous about at this point. My physical card is handwritten for my first two shots and is somewhat illegible in spots. My third shot was noted by a sticker placed on my card with the version, the lot #, and the expiration date (not the date administered). I can download/print my vaccination record from my healthcare provider, but it's not the official vaccination card, so I hope that NCL will take that.

I was on Epic for the New England/Atlanta Super Bowl in 2017. They showed it on the big screen on deck. I'm sure it was probably being shown elsewhere on board, but it was awesome viewing up top!

Cruising from Tampa in March 2022. I want to book a hotel for the night before and the night after the cruise. We will NOT be renting a car. Finding a shuttle from the airport to the hotel has been easy, but would also like to find one with a shuttle to the pier. Searching the travel sites (Hotels, Priceline, etc) is not really easy to find that. Can anyone recommend such a hotel, or is it better to book through the cruise line (NCL in this case)?

Everything I'm reading of late suggests that Omicron has (or is) peaked, and is expected to decline rapidly; ushering in the endemic stage of Covid. Also, with CDC dropping their requirements for cruise lines....I'm wondering just how much longer before the cruise lines drop testing and mask requirements altogether.
-
I was on Epic in 2017 for Super Bowl Sunday. Yes, they showed the game on the big screen. Yes, I left at halftime with Atlanta up by a bunch!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how easy (or if possible) it is to change your reservation from one travel partner to another.
For example, if due to a divorce or breakup, one is not going to travel with the person originally booked for the cruise, but would like to take the cruise with a different companion.

Thank you for sharing your trip! I am sailing on the Sun January 28 and loving the information!

Thanks for the great review! I'm excited to see you were at MCO at 9:30, as I'd like to book the nonstop flight back to oregon leaving at 11am...would get me home in time for the second half of the Super Bowl!

When we sailed, the communication as to the process was very poor. It took 2 1/2 days before we had solved the problem. Once it was figured out, we stuck to the main dining room. Ask to see the menu for the next meal, order what you want off of it, and they'll make it for you. My ex-wife had pancakes, eggs benedict, and other options that far exceeded her expectations.

I know those of us that reserved with Stylus got absolutely screwed! Avoid them at all costs. I've heard people say it was an NCL problem, that it was a customs problem, and that it was a port problem. It took us roughly 1:15 to disembark and make it through customs. We waited, with a large group of people that continued to grow for three hours (some were there before us, even). At one point, a Stylus bus arrived with a group to drop off, and then the bus took off without picking anyone up. Finally, we got on a bus at 1pm. Got to the airport, through check-in and security and onto the plane with 9 minutes to spare. I know there was a large group going to Atlanta that was supposed to leave 10 minutes before our plane, and I'm sure they missed their flight.
Stylus tried to blame it on the traffic at the port, but we all witnessed other companies come and go multiple times while waiting for a shuttle. It was a damn shame and I'm still pissed about it.

Long Beach seems to be preferable to San Pedro when it comes to booking hotels. Do any Long Beach hotels offer a shuttle to the port in San Pedro? If not, it seems like it would be a cheap Uber. Or am I better off just booking in San Pedro (looking at the DoubleTree).
