  1. Does anyone on here know what type of foods they serve in the dining rooms on NCL, mainly Joy?  We are going on the Joy in June to Alaska and I am unable to locate any menus.  We are "plain Jane" eaters and just want to make sure we can either get shellfish or beef in the dining rooms.  Last time we were on NCL, we were not impressed with choices but hoping for better results this trip.  Can anybody help?  TIA

  2. I have had my reservation for several months now and mine too is listed as E.  Can anyone answer this?  The cabana is listed under my spouses name. Our family (6 others) will probably get off the ship a couple of hours before us.  Will they have a problem getting the cabana without us tagging along so early?

  3. I too am interested on feedback regarding the Oasis Lagoon Cabanas.  I have one reserved for September 22 sailing and already have been having second thoughts.  Needed one to accomodate 6 adults and 2 small children and this was best option. Four of the adults and the 2 children will be hanging out in water or going over to waterpark most of the time but us 2 old folks needed some place to sit our weary bones!

  4. We had the unlimited photo package. We took a big family picture with others in different rooms. The photos showed up in our photo package. Plus the photos that were in other rooms folder. We just put the photos in our stack of photos.

Royal doesnt go through the photos at the end of cruise. We had had several hundred prints

  5. It won't cause a problem at all...I don't know why they do it like that, but YOUR credit card is what will be charged.

I️ am not worried about the credit card but the way they are so fussy about paperwork onboard, I️ just don’t want to run into a problem boarding. If something is going to go wrong, it will happen to us! LOL...thanks for your response.

  6. I have seen many posts regarding the photo packages. I see many posts stating that for $250.00 you can get many photos. Is that $250 per room? I want a family portrait ( 8 of us) then photos of each individual family but do not want to pay $750.00 for pictures. Any advice? New to family cruising. They have not granted access to the portrait packages in our cruise planner as yet. Sailing on Lady O on 4-1-18.

  7. I had recently paid off my upcoming cruise for our family. Now I booked and paid for 3 rooms. When I received the "guest invoice" in my email account, the invoices are addressed to the "minor" children for each room and not the parents. Will that present any problem that anyone has heard of before? The parents name are listed first on the reservation but paid invoice shows minors names. Strange!?

  8. I am seeing a lot of ads regarding the KYSS Bags and other brands to lock up your personal items while at the pool or even on the various beaches. My question is this; Have you had a problem with items such as credit cards, money, phones or cameras taken from your "beach bags"? I really don't want to purchase yet another travel bag just for security purposes, but don't want to lose photos of my trip that will be on the camera either. If you do use the bags, which brand do you prefer? I know I can use a "waterproof" pouch for the phone, but seriously, who wants to have that hanging on your neck all day? TIA

  9. We recently returned from a cruise on Harmony and spent a day on Labadee. I thought I would share our experience in one of their beach bungalows. I made a reservation for a bungalow on Columbus Cove about 6 months before our cruise. They are pricey, but not as much as the over the water cabanas on Nellies Beach which we had on our previous cruise. My family all proclaimed they felt the bungalow experience on Columbus Cove was far superior to our cabana experience.

We disembarked the ship relatively early and took the ferry across from the pier to just past Nellie's Beach. It was so convenient!!! View from the ferry at the pier:

We had a short walk to Columbus Cove where the bungalows are. Upon arriving to the "entrance" of the bungalows (roped off reserved area), I checked in with the attendant. He had a list of the guests with reservations with pre assigned bungalows. He gave us each a red wrist band to identify us as being able to come and go within the reserved area. We were assigned to bungalow 3. Here is a photo of our bungalow:

As you can see, it comes with two floating mats, comfy padded patio type furniture, a large cooler with 6 large bottles of Evian water. We closed the curtains for privacy from neighbouring bungalows. Right in front of the bungalow are two comfy padded loungers.

The bungalow just had 2 towels, and we did not sign any towels out assuming the bungalows came with towels. So I asked our attendant to get us more towels and he brought in plenty of towels for us to use the rest of the day.

    Here are more views:

You can see there is a private beach area with plenty of loungers and shade just for the bungalow guests. We did see a few people sneak into the reserved area (which are prime spots with lots of shade!) only to be asked to leave.

The bungalows are super close to the buffet area. We walked over and got our lunch from the buffet to bring back to our bungalow to eat. The attendants were busy filling drink orders, and clearing our lunch plates!

They were also convenient to the restrooms. I remember last time we were in the cabanas and we didn't even bother bringing our food back to the cabana because it was too far a walk!

I highly recommend the lower priced bungalows to the over the water cabanas! We had the option of relaxing in the bungalow or out front the padded loungers, or on beach loungers right by the waters edge! The water at Columbus Cove was super calm and perfect for hanging out. The sand is incredibly soft here too.

If you have any more specific questions, I'll be happy to answer!

Love your review of the bungalows! Are you close to beach/water edge to keep your eyes on little ones? Is this one of the better beaches? TIA

  10. Sorry you are experiencing problems on your cruise. It is so funny how each line differs in food, service, etc.. Me personally, loved Royal and can't stand NCL but that is how things are different for different people! I hope the rest of your cruise is enjoyable![emoji16]

  11. Just my 2nd cruise with Royal so not totally familiar with some online features. My cruise is 4/1/2018 on Oasis. When will my planner be available online? Still making payments as I am paying for entire family. Would love to purchase some items in advance so can enjoy cruise.

  12. We were on FOS in March and ate at Chops for 2 dinners. We got it for "BOGO" special for $30pp. The dinner on the first night was horrible! We ordered the "Bone In Ribeyes" and received T-Bones! When we told the server, he claimed they were "special" ribeyes?! We know our beef! Ate them anyway with no flavor and tough as nails. The next night we ate there, we had the filet which was good. If I paid $49pp and was basically told that I didn't know my cuts of beef, I would pitch a total fit right there. Going on the Oasis in April 2018, so we will see!

  13. Ship or plane makes no difference! I had 2 young gentlemen almost knock me down to ground when they called for first class seating to board. Not only did they bust their way past me ( and yes I am a senior but regardless of age ) but their seats were 2/3 of the way back in the plane! It doesn't matter who paid what or who has "perks", it should just be the norm or common courtesy!
