  1. So new to this Cruising game and am struggling!!! I have two questions please for Independance of the Seas 29/10

1 - do we get a choice of what time our main dining room sitting will be - on manage our booking it's only giving us choices of the 'speciality reasturants'

2 - internet packages - do they ever have 'specials' when researching on the internet I keep seeing pictures of the packages with a big splash over it giving 30% discounts

I wish we had done a lot more research before booking as we are surprised at how the costs just keep adding more and more on!!!

  2. Yes, like other non-govt websites it will certainly charge you a fat and unnecessary handling fee.

So definitely apply using nj's link ( https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html ) to the US Border agency's website.

Your ESTA is good for two years after approval.

Do apply at least a couple of weeks ahead - theoretically it takes 24 hours or less, but some glitch - eg a felon with the same name - can delay approval.

Unless the application form has changed recently, it asks for your address in the US.

    Put "Carnival Fascination cruise ship".

If you travel to the US again during the lifetime of your ESTA there's no need to update that address - which kinda makes a nonsense of being asked for an address in the first place.

That was really helpful - thanks - I need a new esta and am going on our 1st cruise from Southampton and will be calling at US island ending in Orlando - didn't have a clue what address to put!!! Thanks again - Sue
