  1. Without status for us we are just trying to find our place in the cruising world. We had a Princess cruise booked but had to cancel last year. Now I'm looking at Princess again and a couple other lines for the Caribbean. I like the fancy look of Royal Caribbean but maybe with a little less party atmosphere. At my age folks, If anyone is going to be the life of the party it better be me. :p

  2. Well, I am very honored and lucky to have received one of the mailers from MSC that gives me and a guest a free balcony room, including port charges, on one of 3 sailings in March/April/May of next year. Oh yes, this is happening! No???

In the beginning I was extremely excited. And that lasted a few hours from when I received it earlier in the week. However, we have young kids that are school age and we just can't take them out of school for a week, especially when none of those weeks backs up to any scheduled days off for them. My wife told me just to go by myself, which would make me feel a little guilty...well...for a minute or two....and then after that minute or two I begin asking myself if this is a trap by her where she takes off with her man Blake Shelton and never returns. HAHA.

But really...I'm a recipient of a free cruise, but I'm a loser of a free cruise. Just like my last trip on Divina, was awarded a free cruise but the dates just didn't line up for me. :( Please tell me how cool it is to be a loser. I'm gonna need your help getting through this. :D :')

I'll throw in a round of drinks if you let me go. :halo:

  3. Hey. I finally got results!!!! Great job. They honored everything and then some!! THANK YOU SO MUCH NORWEGIAN!!!

Sorry for delayed response, but it took them a while to sort it out!!

Glad to hear it because the wife and I are considering freestyle cruising ourselves. Not too happy with RCL at the moment so I'm going where the positive energy is.

  4. First time on rcl ,don't know what fuss is about? Not sold on rcl, compare to Norwegian Norwegian seem to care for people needs more Also don't see the different between wearing long pants vs shorts when going to dinner . Went to Giovanni's and Chops worn shorts , service and food were the same.

Folks, there can be some fussy on Royal even though I liked the ship a lot. I'm looking at this freestyle cruising again because I cancelled to go on Adventure again. It sounds like Norwegian has more easy going peeps.

  5. We live in Greensburg right below Pittsburgh. We love cruising out of Baltimore on the pride we have done it numerous times in the past and we currently have a 14 day journey cruise for next November on the pride. I love the idea of not paying for airfare when I have a family for going. It’s nice just drive straight across in about 3 1/2 hours you’re there ready to get on the ship if it’s the winter months we do travel the night before and stay in a hotel close by which makes for not having to get up early and driving

The wife and I are looking for a Journey cruise or B2B out of Baltimore or New York/New Jersey next year. If I had my druthers it would start in Florida or some place sunny, but my wife's mother and half brother live in New York. It looks like you folks like the Carnival Pride, so it must have an energy we'll enjoy.

  6. I live in Reno and will have to fly, because I don't see much of anything on the West Coast. Can you folks recommend good ports to sail from? I see Galveston, Port Canaveral, Baltimore, and Tampa. Which area has the most down to earth peeps?

  7. In my experience the food has been better on Carnival than on Royal. I get so tired of the Windjammer and love the options on Carnival. I really like Guys burgers and the burritos at the Blue Iguana. The alchemy bar is lots of fun too. Carnival takes itself less seriously which I like. That said, my next cruise is on Allure because the price was right and way cheaper than Carnival Vista.

You sound like the type of people who will enjoy whatever ship you’re on! Friends just got off Pride last week and had a blast. I’m sure you will too.

I liked the Windjammer at first but it got old later in my cruise. Johnny Rockets was fun but they charged extra. Now I'm curious how it compares to Guys. Alchemy bar? From what I've read from other folks, I'm going to need the drink package so I don't go broke! ;p

  8. Folks, I made this post to talk about my embarkation experience last cruise. What happened the next day has nothing to do with that. You peeps can comb through and look for faults on anyone. Why not post your own dirty laundry on here too and be consistent? 6 months ago I would have been defensive too and not wanted to share. When you turn a new leaf and transfigure the quantum mechanics, that is nothing more than the old self.

Some got twitchy reading about the pestering gal in my OP and don't like it being called out, because they can relate to her from the current self. Folks, people pay good money for these vacations, and the twitchy you got reading my post is worse in real life as it's happening. It's not right to take someone's energy and you don't know what everyone's going through.

  9. Price. Carnival is cheaper.

Our last cruise on the freedom of the seas I felt so nickled and dimed. On carnival i could get iced tea of lemonade 24/7 On Freedom the very first night about 10pm my choice was water, water or water. We roamed the promanade in seacch of the free stuff. Water.

we had to buy a soda card.

i find that service / food is about the same on both carnival/ and royal. my money goes to whoever is running a sale for my week

We could use saving a little moola. I would like more time in the tropics and can almost do 2 weeks on Carnival for not much more than 1 week on Royal Caribbean. Plus I'm getting tired of some of the Diamond Lounge folks who think they're better than everyone else.

  10. I'm interested in hearing what folks have to say because we're ready for a break from Royal Caribbean and could use more time in the tropics. We were thinking Alaska but now that we're headed into winter, a nice warm beach and margarita sounds like it will hit the spot! :D

  11. Hi Andrew , whats the skinny on the Christmas drama with your sister

The skinny is that I've never cruised with my sister or my nephew Ryan. There was family drama and my sister felt like she was put in the middle of it during the Holidays. He's no longer with that gal anymore but things are still not the same.

  12. Right. This post and all of your other posts say way more about YOU than they do about anyone on board, in my opinion. You seem to thrive on controversy and look forward to it, here on the boards and probably in real life as well. I'm sorry you are so miserable/sad/angry. I hope you find peace in your life before that life cuts short.

    .

You can judge me all you want even though I'm honest about what happened and admit I didn't do everything right. What's wrong with calling a spade a spade when folks are naggy? They set me off after my wife's cheating and I'll take responsibility from there but that doesn't mean that aren't still problems. I'm no longer loyal to royal, and if half that problem is me like you claim, then why am I not doing the right thing by trying quieter ships?

I'll send you a blessings your way and hope you will consider B17 apricot seeds to make you well.

  13. Thanks for the movie recommendation. I had not thought about that film in many years and I will definitely check it out sometime soon. Thanks also for your positive memes and blessings.

But I'm dying to know why you got banned from Royal. Was it because you reacted negatively to the Diamond Lounge nag, or was it because you took the pepper out of the buffet line lady's salad, or was it an altercation after that?

Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me.

Here's the skinny. I didn't get into it with the Diamond nag because it caught me off guard. And not until she doubled down joining the gal in the buffet and snitch to staff. Yes she was a nag, and men can be nags too! Some folks just have a guilty conscience.

I tried to take the pepper but she moved her plate in the buffet, the younger woman. I started out calmly explaining and admitted that I was wrong. But I was in a bad mood and eventually shouting back at her and then her husband because they didn't want to let it go. She had told him that she didn't want pepperonis on her pizza slice before so I leaned my salad towards them. I'll take your pepperonis then, don't waste food. That made her more mad, and I guess was meant to.

Long story short, I had some words with the staff for siding with these folks, and got accused of damaging property in the public bathroom. I may have hit the stall and paced around a bit, but I wasn't going to trash the bathroom.

That's why I have been working on healing and meditation music, and looking at more calm cruise lines.

  14. Oh, this thread is very relevant this afternoon!

Take a look around, i.e. the thread Tommy3putts and Dennis#1 just posted on. :D

Pssst, it was started by the guy who posted # 30

When it feels good to laugh at other folks, there is something missing because you would feel that peace and positive energy and freedom without it. A rising tide lifts all boats, and if you take pleasure in seeing boats sink, you create a circle of energy that comes back in full. I will instead send you positive memes and blessings.

  15. Sorry, my Google translate in off-line tonight, can you post this again in English.

It's a Mad Mad Mad World is one of my favorite films. Watch it an you'll see what I mean.

You understand already because it's right there in your signature. I would rather be around a nice girl for an hour than a naggy one for a second. That's how I feel on the ship to because my wife is nice, and there's peeps running around thinking that misery loves company. That goes for the men too.

  16. That made me twitch too; that's why I cit it out when I quoted him lol.

It can be a Nag Naggy Nag World on the cruise ships, just like Mrs. Marcus from the film. Folks, people pay big bucks, time, and excitement to go on these vacations. It's much more twitching to be berated by family or a stranger down the hall, than it is to read about it on here.

  17. Don't get me wrong: we like HAL.

However, I love the thought of the OP on HAL.

I'm trying Holland America out for the first time this summer. I also want to try freestyle cruising and even Windstar for the sailboats, relaxation, energy, and watersports platform. Folks have been snooping into my older posts and I'll admit that I didn't do everything right. I was tipsy and was already in a bad mood, and had a scene in the buffet. That doesn't change how this all started and my feelings on the situation now.
