  1. After having 3 cruises canceled, despite Carnival's pinky promise that they "really will start cruising!" I would HIGHLY doubt we see cruising return in 2021 at all. When they canceled our latest cruise, I got the refund and I will absolutely not be booking any cruises until I see them start happening and masks are not required.

Depends, if the OBC is from an overpayment ( like when you move a canceled cruise to another cruise-which is what happened to us), then you can get a refund.  You can carry over up to $500 OBC that way.  If the OBC is from promotional events, then no, it is gone.

The OBC is what I paid for a cruise for July that was canceled, instead of a refund they persuaded me into having it as OBC for my Jan cruise, so we can pay for Cheers for us & soda package for the kids, excursion, etc. At the time it seemed like a good idea. Now I'm kicking myself bc I didn't choose it as a refund.

  3. We have one booked for Jan 28, 2021. We booked it over 2 years ago. We booked one back in April for July & when it was canx they pushed me into taking OBC for the Jan cruise instead of a refund. Now I'm worried this one will be nixed as well. I want a refund plus all that OBC as cash refunded to me, but I highly doubt that will happen. I'm extremely frustrated by the whole thing.

  4. I'm sure this has been asked at least a dozen times, but I can't find a thread about it, sorry!

I had a casino offer & booked a cruise, and I get Drinks on Us while I'm in the casino. My husband and I also plan to purchase Cheers.

#1- Will my husband ALSO get DOU while we are in the casino, or only me?

#2-  Will my DOU drinks count against my Cheers package? Or, are they two entirely separate things?

Not that I would, but say I met my 15 alcoholic drink limit on Cheers, could I then go to the casino & have drinks while I gamble?

#3- Does DOU cover all types of drinks (beer, cocktails, pina coladas, etc) or are there any limitations?

    Thanks in advance!

I booked it over the weekend.  Fantastic low low price.

I booked one on Saturday for July 2nd. Couldn't beat the price and if they cancel it we'll take the FCC and fly to Florida and hang on the beach for a few days instead. I'm not gonna stress it.

You should have the same waiter all day.  If I rent a mat or something extra I will tip when I pay for that.  For the food/drinks covered by the AI fee we usually tip 15-20% at the end of the day - works out to about $10 per person for the typical great service.

When I sit at the swim-up bar and practice my Spanish with the bartenders I usually give them a couple of $ on top of what we give to our waiter.

Tipping is up to you - enjoy!

Rent a mat? Please explain, lol. I am going to Nachi for the first time in a few weeks!

  7. I was on the Dream in April 2017 and we had 3 people in our room. Our steward kept bringing beach towels, and we grabbed a couple when we were headed off the ship (no one asked to see our S&S card for them) and we counted at one point we had like 12 beach towels in our room haha. None of us took them home but I guarantee you they had no idea how many we had and we each could've swiped one and no one would have known.

  8. I booked through a PVP and paid the deposit, and then when I got on Carnival's website I hit 'make a payment' and it gives you three choices- Pay the balance, set up easy pay, or pay a set amount. It will tell you what the payments are and how many.

  9. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but..

The Nachi Cocom all-inclusive package includes a 4 course meal. Do you get to choose your appetizer, entree, etc? Or is it a set menu of say, chips & salsa appetizer, fish tacos entree, etc.

I saw their menu online but it was the a la carte menu, just wondering if I can order those items for my all-inclusive stay.

    Thanks!

  10. When you say whole family, does that mean hubby, you and the kids? Or is it you and hubby and another set of adults? I ask this because when sailing with other adults you might want to forgo staterooms that are adjoining and go with two staterooms that can have the balcony divider opened. Depending on the ship not all can be affixed open. Just something to think about.

I personally enjoy using a PVP. If you have a good one they are priceless. (We can't recommend on here) Everyone one including my PVP says it is so easy to book online. But who is going to find you those perfect rooms that have the balcony divider that can stay open to make the giant balcony? Who is going to remind you that you get slightly sea sick so low on the ship is better for you? Who is going to steer you away from that stateroom because it is under the galley and noisy ? Who is going to make sure you understand that if you booked a reduced deposit fare and price match you will have to pay the full deposit? Who is going to help you understand why you need to purchase travel insurance? A good PVP, and in fairness a good TA, can really help enhance your cruise experience.

It will be my husband & I and our three sons, who at the time we sail will be 13, 15 and 17.

I didn't know we couldn't recommend on here, I'm pretty new to all of this... :o I want to save money BUT at the same time I want this to be a great trip. This will be our last family vacation before our oldest's senior year, and my husband has been very against cruising so it was a huge thing for him to tell me "just book us a cruise!" :D So I want it to be great, otherwise I'll have to hear about how cruising was a bad idea :')

  11. Hey all! I went on my first cruise in April with a friend, I never wanted to cruise but it was offered to me at a price I couldn't pass up and now I'm afraid I've caught the bug! I want to take my whole family on a cruise and my water-fearing husband is finally 'on board' so I've been looking and have a few questions.

We want to cruise in June of 2019. When will these cruises be available for booking? It looks like they're booking through April 2019 now, so am I correct in assuming that cruises are available 18 months out?

Also, we want to book adjoining balcony rooms. I've been playing around online and can't figure out a way to do this online. Should I call Carnival direct for that?

Also- PVP's?? Should I use one? Would I save any money or would the cost be higher?

  12. I don't think you get free juice with the soda package. I have only seen free juice in the main dining room during breakfast. The free juice offered on lido deck is definitely not pineapple. You can carry on up to 12 cans of pineapple juice when you board the ship.

Per the Carnival website, these are the drinks included with Bottomless Bubbles:

    • Soft drinks: Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Caffeine Free Coke, Sprite, Sprite Zero, Orange Fanta, Mr. Pibb, Barqs Root Beer, Tonic Water, Club Soda, Ginger Ale
    • Juices: Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice, Tomato Juice, Pineapple Juice, Grapefruit Juice
