  1. I’m leaning towards the junior suite. I do like the idea of the two connecting rooms but the kids are still too young for that I think. Something to keep in mind for next time. Plus I really do like the bathtub.

I did check out the YouTube video of the suite and I want to stay in one now. I am going to skip the pnp and put both kids on the sofa bed. Thanks for all the advice. I can’t wait for our trip even if it’s not till next year. 😀

  2. Hello!!!

I'm looking at booking a cruise in May 2020 on the Harmony with my family.

I want to pick the right kind of room that can fit us comfortably.  My 4 year old daughter will sleep on the pull out sofa and I'm thinking my son who will be 20 months will be in a pack in play.  Is there enough floor space in the Ultra Spacious Ocean View with Large Balcony or the Junior Suite for both of those two beds? Will they even let me book the large balcony room with only 4 people when it can hold up to 6? That would save me some money since we really don't need any of the perks that come with the junior suite.

My other concern will be is if my son is too big for the pack in play and I will need the sofa for him, so that I can turn it around and block him in against the wall. Then I don't know what to do with my daughter, if I can get her a role away bed or something else to sleep on.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

  3. Here's the latest from RCI about the next set of sailings:

The following sailings are being monitored and we will have further details in our 6 PM EDT update:

Anthem of the Seas: September 9 Bermuda cruise

Majesty of the Seas: September 11 Bahamas cruise

Enchantment of the Seas: September 11 Bahamas cruise

In an effort to give you advance notice of any changes while also taking into account the most accurate forecast information, we will be providing updates on any impacted sailings no later than 2 days in advance of departure.

  4. husky01, please post there answer. My wife and I are scheduled on the Enchantment on 9/11 also. I doubt

I will to go into an area where a hurricane just passed.......we're from south Louisiana, so we have seen a hurricane or two!

Just got off the phone with RCI. They told me the same information everyone has been receiving. It's a wait and see game. He did mention since I have the insurance to not cancel yet and to wait and see if they cancel the cruise. I would not be entitled to a refund or any other compensation they would offer, if I cancel before they do. So that's something to keep in mind for everyone who's considering cancelling.

  5. Yes, you will get a 100% refund if they cancel but they've already made decisions on all sailings scheduled for Sunday. What ship are you on?

Great, thanks. Our ship doesn't leave until Monday, 9/11 on the Enchantment of the Seas, as far as I can see this trip hasn't been cancelled yet, since it's still too far away. I'm going to try calling RCI now and hopefully I'm not on hold too long.

  6. We have already made the decision to cancel our cruise. I'm very disappointed, but we were supposed to fly into Miami on Sunday for our cruise on Monday and I do not want to be in the middle of a hurricane. I have already changed our flights, but when should I contact to RCI to cancel our cruise? I have insurance, which gives me a 75% refund of my costs, but if they end up cancelling would I be entitled to a 100% refund? Just curious if I should cancel now or wait a couple of days. Thanks for the feedback and please everyone who lives in FL and on the islands be safe.

  7. I just want to thank the people on CC for all of the great advice and tips.

I was booked in a JS for the EOTS in Sept and I decided to check to see how much it would cost to upgrade to a GS. The cost difference was only $91!!! I jumped at the chance to be in a grand suite.

I cannot wait for my cruise :D

  8. I'm going on a cruise with my daughter in September and she just turned one. Some of the things that I have read that people have recommended.

    - The ship will provide a pack n play (you have to request it before the cruise), but to bring your own sheets/ or blanket since the cruise only provides a single sheet.

    - Unopened snacks for the ports (if needed), you cannot bring any other food off the ship

    - Inflatable bathtub - can be used as a pool on deck since most ships won't allow babies in diapers in the pools and can be fit in the shower if your cabin does not have a bathtub

    - Plenty of diapers and wipes

    - Doggie bags/plastic bags to put the used diapers in so that they're not just in the garbage.

    - Umbrella stroller

    - Plastic bags can also be used to hold dirty clothes so not to mix with the clean

    - Detergent and dish soap, wash clothes and bottles/sippy cups

Since you're planning ahead I would buy anything you can think you might want for the cruise now, while all of the summer stuff goes on sale like baby sunscreen, floaties, swim diapers, sandals, bathing suit, and sand toys

You will pretty much need anything you would need for them in any given day.

    Hope this helps.

  9. We just got our daughter her first passport and she just turned 1. It's a personal decision, we just felt better knowing we all had passports. Just like others have said if you are thinking about any other international travel it's easier to just have a passport on hand. It took no time at all to fill out the paperwork and bring it to a passport office and the turn around was pretty fast. I think I got her passport in three or four weeks.

  10. Hey! Can anyone tell me if it's worth it to buy the photo package for my upcoming cruise on Enchantment of the Seas? It's a 4 day cruise and I want to make sure there are plenty of photo ops before I buy the package. I know it's cheaper buying beforehand and I love having pictures for when I scrapbook. The package for the CD is $159.99 right now. If not, then I can just buy a couple of photos when I'm on board.

    Thanks for your help!

  11. Hi,

I have a couple of questions. I've been on a couple of cruises, but this is my first time with my daughter. She will be just over 1 year old. We will going on the Enchantment of the Seas for 4 nights.

    Do they offer whole milk?

Did you use the baby sitter in the room or the nursery? We would like to see some of the shows at night and would like to use either the nursery or a babysitter.

Any tips you learned when travelling with a little one would be appreciated. We are also taking her on her first flight.

    Thanks.
