This one is easy. With teens, definitely do the Allure. My son made so many friends that he is still in contact with a year later. So much to do on this ship for all. Plus, for the adults, the drink package is so much better than on Carnival (truly unlimited on Royal and limited to 15 beverages on Carnival.) Also, the specialty restaurants on Allure are so much better than on Carnival and are great for a date night. Don't expect your teen to go to any shows (" they are all lame!" Per my son), but mine loved Carnival's family comedy show which Royal does not have. There are so many food options on the Allure with all their neighborhoods, but food is better on Carnival. Shore excursions are better with Carnival too. Tough choice. I vote Carnival... Vista maybe. Teen votes the Allure.

I will start wearing what you want me to wear to the MDR when you start paying for my cruise. That being said I usually dress in dressier jeans and a button down with dress shoes for dinner, even formal nights. I wear suit and tie 5 days a week, I refuse to wear it on vacation. Similar to this below.

If you can pull this look off, then yes, I would definitely count this as formal. See, my son could pull this off and rock it. This is vacation! Be yourself! Love it!

So, my young daughter and I like to dress up a bit for dinner on even casual nights. We go all out on formal nights. We have one issue. My 13 year old son. I think he wears basketball shorts morning, noon, and night. I have talked him into wearing Khaki shorts and a simple polo shirt at night in the main dining room on casual nights and black trousers, collared shirt and tie for one formal night. Do you think his attire will be acceptable? We are sailing on the Allure on April 2nd. Thanks for any input.

We are sailing on the Allure in early April. I am having a difficult time finding an appropriate excursion that my 2 children (8 and 13) and myself would like to participate in. Has anyone ever done the Bamboo Beach Club VIP package with Royal and if so is it worth the money (114 USD pp)? This includes the falls as well.

Is there a cap on the drinks/day. I know on Carnival it was 15. What is it with Royal?
