  1. It’s one through my bank. (I think it’s underwritten by axa but the terms don’t match the standard axa terms) I had to claim last year for a delayed return to port and missed flight hence I know it pays upto £5000 per person for the added return flight (minus £40 excess!) had no problems claiming either...

    Thanks

  2. My worldwide annual travel insurance covers upto £5000 per person If ship was delayed into port for missed flights... it’s a 5 star defaqto policy and with cruise add on.

I do feel sorry for those that are not covered though. I hope NCL might be forgiving in the circumstances.

Are you able to share who that policy is with?

  3. There are few UK policies which would provide full cover for some of the amounts being quoted, even with including Cruise Cover options.

Cruise Cover extensions typically cover arriving too late to join the cruise at initial port of departure, cabin confinement in the event of illness, cruise interruption if you are taken ashore for medical reasons and unused excursions if you are ill.

The travel delay section of UK travel policies usually pays a fixed amount (typically less than 100GBP after a delay of 12 hours with additional smaller payments for every subsequent 12 hours) in the event of a delayed or cancelled flight etc.

The missed departure section is the one most likely to cover this scenario. They usually read something like this

    Covered

You are covered up to the limit as shown on the Schedule of Cover for necessary hotel and travelling

expenses incurred in reaching Your booked destination, if You arrive too late to commence Your booked

trip from or to Your normal Country of Residence as a result of:

    a. The Public Transport in which You are travelling is delayed (You must obtain written

    confirmation from the transport company)

    b. The vehicle in which You are travelling being involved in an accident or breakdown, or You

being delayed as a result of a major accident on a motorway. In the event of a claim due to

vehicle breakdown or a road accident, You must obtain a police or roadside assistance report

    c. Adverse weather conditions making it impossible to travel to the outbound departure point in

    Your normal Country of Residence

  4. Hi Mike, do you know if people in suites get priority access to tender tickets on NCL? I read a review stating the tender tickets for non-suite guests were distributed separately.

    Cheers

    Paul

You do not need to queue for tender tickets if in a suite, You will be given info on a meeting point for priority tendering and you just go there when ready to disembark. The concierge or one of the butlers will then escort you down to the next tender, usually via crew stairs.

CLick on this link and then on the right side to "najave Jul - Septembar" to see which ships are there on your day of visit and wether you are docked ( marked with "X") or tendering (marked with the word "sidro")

We tendered on the Star 10 July but this shows docking. We heard there is (was?) an issue with an underwater obstruction at the dock so even if this shows planned docking you may still tender.

when tendering in Kotor, it's a short hop to the docking point. .

We anchored way out in the bay and had a 30 min tender ride!

  6. What time do they distribute tender tickets for Santorini when it arrives at 2:00pm. Has anyone been there recently?

I think they start giving them out around 09:30 for the afternoon arrivals although people will be waiting in line at least an hour or more before that!

Thanks for your info on Kotor and Santorini. What about Mykonos? Which port did you dock in. The new big port called Tourlos or did you tender in to the old port?
