  1. I also think that as it is a special anniversary you should pre book. You will still get your loyalty discount. I think it Is a shame that you can't use

OBC for this but there you go. I have never known every table in Epicurian to be taken when we have been. I think their timing is carefully arranged to give you the excellent service you are paying for.

  2. Sailing ftom Soton to Soton it must be a nightmare now for cruise lines to satisfy customer needs to explore fresh fields with so many interesting ports out of bounds for security reasons . I for one really really miss the Bosphorous and Black Sea cruise. I have noticed some new (for me anyway) ports appearing in the Med Iguana has some interesting ports but I always begrudge paying extortionate prices for one of her few bslconies

  3. Hi all, this is my first post. My husband and I are celebrating our 30th Anniversary in October next year and, after looking at different cruises (at great length!), we're thinking of P&O Carribean 15 night from Southampton. A couple of questions. Can experienced cruisers advise on this choice as a first cruise. We want it to be special and something we wouldn't normally do (been to the med etc) but not too pricey.

Secondly, there is no information on drinks packages on P&O. Do they have them? What do they consist of?

Thanks in anticipation of your advices. Can't want to get going!

If you are doing a 15 day Carribean from Southampton I would think you would be flying home. The Carribean is a beautiful destination but if it were my first cruise I don't think I would choose a long Atlantic crossing. Anyway I dont think you can beat a cruuse sailing in and out of Southampton. Whatever yoy choise I'm sure you will enjoy a fabulous anniversary.

    15

day Caribbean will give you an insight to whats it all about without flying , Each ship has own quirkiness . Hope you enjoy.

  4. It does make you wonder of numbers involved here...guess it has to be a awful lot...a simple "sorry for the delay in dealing with this" would probably be of some comfort to people who are extremely annoyed about the intrusion into their very personal stuff...however silence will have the opposite effect...and serves them right for the dreadful manner in which they are dealing with this mess. people will only put up with being ignored, forgotten, sidelined and disrespected for so long.

I do enjoy my P&O cruises but I am starting to feel a bit "taken for granted".

My feelings mirror exactly everything you have just written

  5. Tick -Tock Tick-Tock, blimey reckon I will be on Azura (July 9th) before this is sorted, I do have a feeling most people aint getting anything though, just m.h.o mind you.....although we did get an apology...errr, it was an apology wasn't it?

    :evilsmile::)

I think you're probably right. It appears that only people who have actually incurred charges gave been invited to claim. It seems they are going to ignore the rest of us who had money unlawfully removed from their current accounts How can you quantify the hassle and time taken on phone calls etc. It was a week before my money was returned. Not at all impressed with their customer relation skills

  6. The money doesnt travel instantly to accounts , it shows as leaving your account straight away , to ensure the payment wont bounce i guess , but takes around 3 working days to appear in payees account.Pending /ghost payments are the worse to clear in my experience

My bank explained this to me and said it would be easier to deal with if the transaction had actually been made. As I posted earlier I am nearly £1200 down on my available balance which was a deposit for a futurecruise paid in March. I know this will eventually be put right but the manner in which it has been dealt with us appalling.

I have still received no personal notification from P&O that this amount has been taken without my authorisation. If I had not been a member of a group on FB I would be completely unaware and as I am on hols tomorrow woulld undoubtedly suffer considerable financial embarrassment

I have spent most of this weekend trying to sort this nrss with TA and with bank. Icidentally, my cruise specialist TA had not been prepared or informed of this by P&O. They only knew from customers calls. I have done all I can do and I have made a complaint to P&O. I will wait and see if I will be afforded the courtesy of a personal email from them some day soon. It has surprised me that with the enormity of this and some of the large amounts involved that we have heard nothing on the news media.

  7. Just read this and the facebook page. Has anyone who paid in March not been affected or is it all accounts?

I paid a deposit and balance and I'm wondering if I will have to go to the bank tomorrow. I haven't got an online account.

I would definately check with your bank. My DD paid in March has been taken but my DD paid in April is ok.

  8. We have also just booked for this cruise but we are flying from Bristol. This also after many years of cruising is our first fly cruise and we will be v interested In any replies to your post. I asked my TA about selecting seats and was told that I would have all that info nearer the time.

  9. This happenned to me when the upgrade I was given was in an appalling position. Obviously a cabin that was difficult to sell. I objected strongly and eventually was allowed to stay in my original cabin but they were not very happy about it . Since then I have not requestedan automatic upgrade unless I have been at the top grade in my chosen category which would then mean being upgraded to a higher category

  10. No, I think in the past you got more OBC if you were a past customer, but now it seems to be based on the offer available at the time of booking. We are taking my father in law on his first cruise and our sixth cruise and he is getting the same OBC as us, although he will not get the peninsular discount for trips and anything purchased onboard.

Thank you mandylennon for your clarification but what I really want to know is do P&O still control the prices of cruises including the discounts for previous passengers etc that are available to all that qualify or are we going back to the bad old days when TAs bird with each other on discounts and the only conversation on dining tables was "how much did you pay for your cruise". I hope that is not the case but from reading some of the posts on this and other sites about individuals being given fabulous offers, I'm beginning to wonder what's going on.

  11. I have cruised for many years with P&O. Always loved the product so never felt the need to go elsewhere. Always booked with excellent cruise specialist TA. I agree with nearly everything said by all the knowledgeable posters in this site

The only thing that is really bugging and confusing me at the moment is the crazy pricing and OBC. I'm not talking about early savers and late offers. There are clear enough but all the other different prices offered along the way are crazy imo. I just haven't the confidence in booking anymore. Can someone please explain to be simply what on earth is going on?

  12. You can use your prefered choice of washing agent. You can buy tablets ( 2 in a pack ) for 50 p from the emporium. A laundry service is provided and depending on the length of cruise, there are certain offers at intervals on longer cruises I always get the formal shirts done.
