  1. The only big issue for me was layover time. If you have an international layover you should allow at least 2 hours between flights. I had one hour and called and insisted that was impossible based on everything I had read. They changed the flight to have a 2 hour layover. I barely made it. For example depending where your connection is, you might have to go through customs and immigration, pick up your bags and then recheck them on the new flight. That is what happened to me. As I was running to the gate which had already closed, they were kind enough to open the gate and let’s us in. Stressful. Make sure you arrive at least a day or 2 early.

We booked a family cruise for December 2021 way before NCL stated requiring vaccinations for all customers.  I contacted customer service and they stated that they are only requiring vaccinations for all guests through October.  However, they have no idea if that will be extended.  We would hate to cancel, but there are some children in our party that will not be vaccinated.  I believe we have until the middle of October to cancel.  Does anyone know if the cancelation policies will further be relaxed if NCL extends their vaccination requirements or should we go ahead an just cancel now?

    From the NCL website

Cancel Up to 15 Days Prior

For cruises through October 2021, cancel 15 days prior to vacation start for a full Future Cruise Credit.

Based on what I read does not apply to a December Cruise

  3. Since I am in many of the high risk categories (over 65, diabetes, high blood pressure, history of seizures, high cholesterol, heart murmur) the concerns I have are many.  How much medication should I bring in case the ship is quarantined? My high risk factors make me statistically more likely to be seriously affected if I catch any virus not just COVID-19. Before this current coronavirus outbreak, I never worried about that. If I got sick, they would just send me home. Or I would be quarantined in the cruise medical department.  Now you could be quarantined  for an indefinite period of time. Your itinerary can be changed without notice. Just saw this happen on the cruise I had hoped to go on in a few weeks. I am an avid cruiser with 35 cruises. My doctor has advised me not to travel. I have travel insurance so the money is not a concern for me. And yet a part of me says what the heck and just keep on living.

  5. Been on many cruises over the last 40 years. Looked at the pictures and videos posted of the Breakaway during Grayson. Been through worse weather in the past. I am lucky that I never experience seasickness. If I was the type that got seasick, you can be sure I never would have returned to cruising. Bad weather is part of the cruise experience. It can be exciting although at times a bit scary. NCL could have avoided the bad weather since with today’s technology this is so easy to determine. But I wonder what the threshold is before they decide to change course.
