  1. Will plan to be back by 3pm then. Not sure how much native wild life we will be able to see so thought the zoo would be best. Thanks.

We are arriving 2 days prior also and yes already booked Hyatt too. Will call prior to ask for early check in since some of my party does arrive super early.

Linked out bookings with princess already.

  2. that is just what im looking for.

On the day you meet at hotel do you do much? we are arriving 2 days prior so wondering if we can count this as a free day too and need to meet the tour people at the hotel that evening? Looking at going to the zoo this day and wonder how long we would have. I tried asking princess but they dont have any answers for this.

  3. thanks for the info. we will be doing this same cruise and tour in a few months so this is very helpful. Didnt think to have our friends booking linked to ours. Will do this today.

When you were at Ayers Rock did you get to see Field of Lights? if so what are your thoughts?

each day do you get some free time to check things out or is it really filled and then you are exhausted and just want to go to bed?

    Thanks.

  4. Thank you all for the info. I have put one of those net/bug hats on my amazon list [will look in stores around here too]. Yes will be there xmas/new years 2018/19

We bought the Princess pre-cruise tour so they are transporting us all over. So yes, flying alot. Didnt look into how long the flights would be yet but great to know. WOW, that changes my thoughts on times, but is EXACTLY what I was asking about. :D

Cairns overnight then to Ayers rock 2 nights and back to Sydney. Where they are only feeding us breakfast [one lunch] I was wondering if we had lots of afternoon time free and wanted to have a list of options if this happened. Sounds like we will have very little down time. Having never done a bus/land tour organized I wasnt sure what to expect. Have always done our own and therefor know pretty much the times.

Thanks again for all the help.

  5. sknight that is just the kind of info we were looking for. Thank you soooo much. flight times are great to know also.

babysarge that sounds wonderful. Will look for that and try to do it.

great info on the flies. Will see what I can get before we leave. We are going to be in Australia/new Zealand over Christmas and new years.

We just wanted to have an idea if we have loads of time each day free or just a few hrs. Not to really book anything just a matter of what to have in mind.

    Thanks for all the help.

  6. I searched the threads and dont seem to see this info. Apologies if I missed it.

We are booked 6 day pre-tour through Princess in Australia. Has anyone done this? Cairns, Ayers rock and back to Sydney. How long do you have free each day? Suggestions of things to see/do after the tours? comments?

    Thanks for the help.

  7. For those that have done this how cold is the water basically? Family is looking at taking a boat/snorkel tour in Feb 2014 at Nassau, Bahamas. Checking to see if we should really book something or its just to cold to be enjoyed.

Also, we are looking at Seahorse sailing. Any others we should check out?

    Thanks for all the help.

  8. Anyone seen either the regular or sanctuary bungalows recently to know if much has changed??

If the regular are closer to the beach and bathrooms we might save the $ and book one of those. We are a larger family so was thinking of reserving 2. Do they offer the umbrella at all the bungalows? I have a couple of older folks that stay out of the sun so this would be really helpful.

    Thanks.

  9. Family will be cruising to St thomas in Feb. Anyone know of a cat or sail boat that goes to St john? Trunk bay is where we would like to snorkel. I know we can do this via land but looking to travel on a cat or boat of some sort.

Tried searching the threads and could not find any info.

    Thanks.

  10. Having a family cruise vaca and one of our stops is at Princess cays. Looking at renting one or two Bungalow's from Princess. Anyone rented them [adults area or kids area?] Since everyone is over 18 we are leaning more towards the adults bungalows but wondering if there is much different than the cost and kids. Says there is a limit to 4 [with additional cost to add 2 more] how strict are they to this?

    Thanks.

  11. Have used Shore trips for the Caribbean and was very satisfied. As xcomet said they keep in contact with you. At one port I couldn't find my guide, called shoretrips they had me on the line while calling the guide and spoke to both of us till we connected. [matter of being at opposite ends of meeting area] lol

FYI "Shore Trips" and "Private Shore Trips" are 2 differnt companies.

Your right, my bad. Ill stop trying to help FYI!

For the Med we used Miles and Miles then another day Alain Dream tours. Both I would highly recommend. :)

  13. action rental was right there for our pickup. We had another family that rented with us so action contacted another rental company for them. Think they share atv's when needed.

Remember to mark on the map where you return your atv. We got mixed up. Some of the hills are to much for 2 people to get up. Also the lighter you are the easier it is for the atv to get up the hill. Many of us had to walk our atv's up some hills. OH and there are only 5 gas stations on the island.

Roads are easy to navigate. Would recommend for the drivers to have experience driving these and driving in traffic, so old enough for regular drivers lic at least. We drove on the main roads often.

Loads of fun and will do this again!!!

  14. min age is 18 with drivers lic to drive. Here is the nutshell of info.

I received the reservation from action by email filled it out and scanned and emailed it back. Having never faxed out of the country didnt want it to go to the wrong place.

Take extra space out of web address for it to work.

These prices are right off their sites or emailed from them for Aug 2010.

  15. Sarah,

It is more helpful to our members if people share their experiences on the boards rather than offline, so perhaps Curio2 will be kind enough to post the answer here.

Karen, your right about sharing. I only asked for the email because this thread is about Rome in limo and didnt want to get anyone in trouble by going off topic.

I could have started a new thread asking about doing naples on your own i guess. :o

ORV - wonderful pic. Thanks for sharing. My group is looking at booking Romeinlimo for multiple ports too.

  16. Greetings fellow cruisers!

We did Naples (Pompeii and Sorrento) "on our own" (well, with 16 fellow cruise critic members) using the local "Circumvesuviana" train from Naples to Pompeii and Pompeii to Sorrento and then took a hydrofoil back to Naples from Sorrento. It was very easy to do (just make sure everyone in your group has a copy of a map from the port to the train station) and it ended up being a fabulous day.

    Cheers!

    Curio2

Can you email me with just what you did on this day? My group is interested in trying this on our own also.

    Thank you.

    Sarah

  17. dzcruisers, do you remember the name of the beach? Were there things to do there or just lounge around? Any snorkeling? Did you rent the chairs or was it a one fee for use of chairs, food, drink and all? Do you remember the cost of the taxi?

We will be there in Feb 2008 and it sounds like this is a beach island for us.

    Thanks.
