  1. I have a ? About the free Landry service for platinum. How late on a 7 day cruise can you safely turn in your clothes & get them back in time to pack the evening before debarkation. Like we will be debarking on a Sat AM & I usually pack right after early seating. Even being platinum we have never used this service, but we would like to on our next cruise in Nov. Thanks in advance, Anna

  2. I'm not sure about a theme night, but here is the upgrades she just received- Guy's Burger joint, Blue Iguana Cantina, Red Frog Rum Bar, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, Alchemy Bar and Cherry on Top. We're looking forward to the upgrades as well, since we're on her on the 29th.

We are also on her on the 29th. Can't wait to see the up grade as well. You should join us on the Roll Call on here for our sailing. Anna

  3. We were on this same cruise 9/19. The waiter told us that the American menu will be rolled out on the next cruise after the 19th.

    Hello elliair,

So are you absolutely positively sure about the menus? We will be leaving on the Miracle 11/14/15 & would LOVE to know which ones they will be using for our cruise BEFORE we go on it. I actually would like to try the new American menu. The old ones are, basically, no Pun intended, they are growing old on me.

    Thanks, Anna

  4. It would suck if you lived in San Diego, just to have to drive the 90+ miles to Long Beach to check in, then be driven back down to San Diego to board the ship.

I know what you mean. I live in San Diego & we have taken this cruise a few times & I so know I would not be a happy camper if this would have happened to us. They need to come back & use the San Diego port. It is so much better than the Long Beach port. And our city is so much nicer. So much to see & do & so much closer to the airport where everyone flys into. LA airport is such a long way to the LB port. Here it's just like a very short 10 min. Taxi ride away.

  5. That's interesting.. driving all those passengers.. and sending all that luggage down to SD and then back up to LB at the end.

Carnival should just port down in SD all the time ;)

I SO TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS ONE!!!!!! San Diego has such a better port, they'll see that tomorrow. In fact my DH & I will be going down to the SD port to see them off tomorrow evening. There's a neat place to eat & have a brew & watch the ship. Sure hope they will be using SD's new port building. It was build last year & it is very nice.

  6. I know! Florida offers some cheappp cruises. I've seen 7 day Caribbean cruises from $450 pp. Some claim that cruises here on the west coast are heavily discounted, $600-and up for a 7 day Mexican Riviera is not heavily discounted if you ask me. Some Caribbean cruises are way cheaper than that, the only reason I don't do Caribbean is because the airfare ends up costing more than the actual cruise!

Same here, we can afford the cruise, but it cost more to fly round trip to the east coast than the actual cruise? We just can't afford both, That, plus my DH hates to fly, so the only cruises we get to on leave from the west coast. We had to fly back from Hawaii when we cruised over there on the Spirit & he had a heck of a time flying back from there. We really don't go to Mexico on all our cruise because we like Mexico, we don't all that much. It's because from SD or LA that is pretty much all we can go to, besides Hawaii.

I wish they would also do cruises from San Francisco. Like up to Alaska on a 10 night like the Princess or Celebrity does. We could drive up to my DH Sisters in Sacramento spend the night & then she could drive us to SF to the port the next day & pick us up after words. Doing the Alaska cruise is our absolute dream cruise, but we can't do it unless Carnival leaves from SF as well. We really don't want to go on another cruise line, we have really like & have been loyal to Carnival since our first cruise 1/17/2000 & are booked on the Miracle again for the 3rd time in Nov. for our 14th cruise with them.

It sure would be nice to see some new ships out here though, especially if they can include San Diego to their line up again or San Francisco even. Why can't they just do something new & different for a change they will be making $$$.

  7. One can only dream, I wish they would though, but they only care to sending ships where they will make money. Highly disappointed in miracle's so called 2.0 "upgrades" you would think that after upgrading all the other Spirit class ships, that they would do the same for this ship, and they didn't. Makes no sense whatsoever. Another thing that makes no sense at all is having two fantasy class ships doing the SAME EXACT itineraries out of the same port, at least send one down to San Diego to do the itineraries Elation used to do, or even have a 5 day to Cabo from Long Beach. I don't know who is in charge of planning the west coast itineraries, but they need someone new in charge for that.

I totally agree with you. I have on that cruise you spoke of the Elation out of San Diego, it was great!!! I would much rather go to Cabo than Ensenada anyday. I also loved it when they had the 8 night cruises that went down to Alcapulco, Mazanillo & Ixtapa when the Spirit left from San Diego. We have 2 ports down here in San Diego, one that was just competed last year. Both are inside out of the rain. Have you ever left out of the Los Angeles port STANDING in one of those LONG LINES in the pouring rain, one time we had to, so not pleasant. I didn't feel well that cruise as I caught a cold. At least in San Diego there are a LOT of places to sit down that are INSIDE out of the pouring rain.

  8. Here's the shrimp:

Here's the Philly Cheesesteak (looks good, but that's where it ends!), and it's hard to appreciate how small this was, until you have it in front of you:

Here's the Chicken Quesadilla - actually quite tasty. If you like Cilantro, you'll really like this. I don't, but could still thought it was pretty good:

    Tom

So not impressed with any of those items. So Tom, how many shrimp was there? And that Philly cheesesteak Sammy looks is a joke. I see there's lots of fries. But I can buy 10 lbs of potatoes for a buck, you know how many fries you can get from 10 lbs bag of potatoes & now you have to pay for them. And Quesadillas I know they have barely any anything in them & cost next to nothing to make. I sure know that I'll not be paying for or ordering ANY of these new items, ever!!!

  9. They don't even look appetizing at all & you only get 8. They look all dried out & wheres the buffalo sauce. I see no sauce on them at all. Oh my gosh, it freakin' cost next to nothing for what looks like, at the very VERY most like maybe 4 oz of the cheapest part of a chicken you can get WITHOUT ANY SAUCE ON THEM. Will NEVER order any of these for sure. Cost them maybe 25 cents to make so they are making a profit of $4.75 on these things. Why do you think so many bars offer these during happy hour for a snack cause I know for a fact that they cost next to nothing to make, but everyone will pay for them cause everyone likes them so much.

  10. Shoot, I would just like to see one of the newer ships with all the bells & whistles on it on go to the West coast, as us who can only leave from the west coast ports have NEVER had here. Sorry, but the Miracle did not get ALL the bells & whistles of a full 2.0 upgrade on it just 3 bar name changes was pretty much it.

And the only other thing would be to start using the port in San Diego, it is so much better than the port in Long Beach. With ANY ship I don't care which one.

Just my 2cents worth on the Dancing of the Ships.

  11. The order that I posted the new menu was the order that John Heald posted it to his Facebook page. It was from the first week they debuted it on the Breeze, so I'm sure it is being chronologically adjusted as it goes through the rollouts.

I looked back at his post from 2/10 (which is where I got this menu) and he says, "Here is the third menu from the Carnival Breeze and her American Table debut this cruise. This is the American Feast elegant night menu."

Usually the first elegant night is the first sea day of the cruise, so I'm not sure if Day 2 was a port day on the cruise on the Breeze when this new menu debuted, or if John may have skewed the exact order. On my last cruise in January on the Breeze, the first elegant night was the third night because we ported in Nassau the first full day of the cruise.

I believe the order of the menu (and where the elegant nights fall) will depend on the itinerary, just like it does now with the regular menus.

Thank you ever so much for answering my Question. That was s thoughtful of you, you're the best!!! I sometimes ask questions on here from time to time & they don't get answered so again, thank you.

  12. I am surprised that if Carnival wants to run 2 Fantasy class ships out of California that they don't homeport one in Long Beach and one in San Diego.

I totally agree with you on this one. Would so love it if they brought back a ship, any ship for that matter, back to sail out of San Diego. It's also such a nicer port than the one in Long Beach? Would love to sail back to Acapulco when the Spirit did that run there. I so miss leaving from a home port city & not having up to & leave out Los Angeles. It cost so much to just park out of that port for a 3 or 4 night cruise. Or to spend the night before in a hotel with free parking for the week when we sail on the Miracle. Would much rather just have our Son drop us off at the port in San Diego.

  13. Did anyone else notice that the first elegant night which in the pass, at least with every past cruise I have ever been on, was always on the second night. Now I noticed by what the new menus says, that it is now on the third night. Did they change it? So has anyone here been on a current cruise with these new menus???

So did anyone else notice this??? Just wondering

  14. Fantasy 10/1: ? schedule says Adam Comes off 10/3 and regular CD Jacques Delonge back on 10/3. Breeze 5/31: Matt Mitchum back on 5/31. Miracle 10/10: Troy Linton until 10/17 when John Heald is supposed to take over. Fascination 3/28: just coming off dry dock, Jason Apps

So you're saying John Heald will be starting his run 10/17/15??? That's exciting as we will be on the Miracle on 11/14/15, but I'm so very surprised that he is even doing the Mexican Run on an older 1.0 ship. I don't call it a 2.0 up grade cause just coming out of dry dock she barely had any changes at all. No Guys, no Blue Iguana & no food at the new Red Frog, no large screen movies on the Lido deck. All she got was 3 bars changing their name & interior, but they are still just bars & a candy store to nickel & dime all those poor parents of the kids using their S & S cards for their sugar fix that their M & D probably won't even know about until they get their bill. So we are not very impressed by the new changes. We paid for our cruise in full in Jan. So excited & thinking that she would be getting a full up grade like all the other ones have be getting. You see we are only are able to go on cruises from the west coast & so we were very much looking forward to seeing a ship on the west coast that has all the bells & whistles on it like all the newer ships they have on the east coast. I just feel that it's just not fair to all of us west coast cruisers.
