Good to know.  Maybe next time I'll have more energy and will go.

How much time would you stay one would need for the museum?

I'd say 2-3 hours, but maybe longer depending on how much you are into Bermuda's history.  Also nice views on the outside for photos.  Just a tip...the basement is air conditioned, so if it's really hot and humid out, go down and check out the war stuff down there.

If you're interested, there is a Royal Dockyard museum.  I believe entry fee is $15.  I didn't go in, because I was a little tired (had spent the day at the beach), but I think this would be a better use of your time than Snorkel Beach.

The museum was fabulous.  Totally worth the money.  While you are there you can also sit along the pool that the dolphins swim in and watch them.  It was an extra bonus.

My husband is the the one that usually clicks us in on the App but I believe (from watching him do it) you have to select you want to sit alone or shared.  One or the other, and if you select neither then you may end up at a shared table.  So watch for that and click the correct option.

Also, you can click to select how many people you want as long as they are in your room - or if you are sailing with others in a different room you have them linked to your booking as well.  Look at your booking under booking details and cruise companions.  Whoever is here dictates how many you can list for dinner when you check in.

So like us, our upcoming cruise we have 3 rooms linked together - 6 people total. So when we go to check in we can select anywhere from 1 to 6 people.

Just got back from the Carnival Legend.  The app has a toggle switch that is automatically set for you to have your own table.  If you don't mind sitting with others, you need to toggle the switch to the on position.

  4. We were cancelled off the Radiance for a 9 day this July.  I was going to book something for next year, but there's not a lot I see that excites me.  They don't have a repeat of the one I was going on this year for next year.  I want to use that $600 they gave us for the cancellation, but I'm stuck between booking now on something that I don't really want or waiting to see if something better comes around that might not.  I'm confused and bummed.  Do you think they will schedule more cruises?

I pack mine in my luggage. Never had a problem. And to head off the other CPAP questions that always get asked, yes they will give you an extension cord but it's better to pack your own (ask your steward). Yes they sell distilled water but for 6 or 7 days the super processed tap water onboard works just fine.

This is my first time on Carnival with my CPAP.  I've been on Norwegian and Celebrity and they have provided distilled water free of charge.  Are you saying that Carnival charges for it?  If so, where do I buy it?  Is it something I do ahead of time, or where on the ship?  Thanks!

  6. I've left from Bayonne 3 times on the Celebrity Summit and 2 times from NYC on the Norwegian Escape.  I live in Philly, so it's a short drive to both.  I've left my car at the parking garage in Bayonne with no problems.  Easy in, easy out.  We have only taken car services to NYC because I don't want to drive and park there.  The piers at NYC are crazy busy.

  7. I was at Clearwater in June.  No water shoes were needed, at least on the left side of the beach where we were.  Right down the road from Clearwater is the nature preserve, and I highly recommend those beaches.  They are gorgeous, and you don't need shoes there either.

Thats very possible. My last NCL was back in 2010, so maybe something has changed since then too.

Yes, I've been on NCL the past 2 summers and there is a sign at all bars that says that 18 year olds can have beer/wine with written permission from their parents.

  9. I loved the pillows when I went on a Carnival cruise in 2009 so I bought 4 from the Carnival Comfort Collection.  Three years ago I wanted some more and bought the same ones.  Totally different quality.  No where near as nice as the older ones.  I wouldn't spend the money on them again.  I've retired the newer ones and I keep washing the old ones to get a little more use out of them because I love them so much.

What is really funny about this picture is that is my mom reflected in the TV screen.  I'm next to her on the one side just hanging off the screen, and the other guy was named Jay.  We met him at the bar.  We were right there next to each other!!!

    Hi

Just wondering. Why would people go to the trouble of trying to take the water home.

Just because NCL overcharges for it doesn't mean it has any significant value once you leave the ship and it is heavy. Maybe if it was a case of wine bottles. 🙂 🥂

Got to admit, I drink tap water at home and do the same on the ships. I carry an insulated flask most places and refill it when necessary.

I take it home because I paid for it, and I paid a pretty price.  I wasn't going to just abandon it.  I was able to jam it in my luggage and the only time I had to move my luggage myself was once I got through customs and had to wheel it outside to wait for my car service.  It was no big deal.

  12. I just don't understand why the bus/taxi unions always have contract issues in the summer when there's tons of tourists.  Make your deals in the winter when the cruise ships aren't there.  Not only are they wasting our time, they are wasting the money that we would have spent using them.

  13. Was on the Escape last June.  Loved Brat Pack and I'm bummed that it's not there next week for my upcoming cruise.  My elderly mother loved After Midnight, but I did not and neither did my teenage son.  I'm looking forward to Choir of Man since I didn't see that last time around.
