I’m a long time cruiser and agree. Cruising has really changed, not for the better. I decided to try Celebrity and was so much happier with food and service. It was more mellow but had some fun nightlife. I’ve decided I will pay a little more for a higher quality experience.

LOL...and since we are boarding the Breakaway on the 19th...still in winter storm season, my anxiety has increased beyond measure! Thankfully we have the UBP...haha!

Don’t stress I sailed a two week voyage over the Atlantic and endured a storm with 30 foot waves. The Capitan reassured us that our ship was well equipped to handle the storm. I never felt in danger. A few days later we were all though it and it was back to smooth sailing.

We are on this cruise too. This week Conquest changed it to Amber Cove, La Romana, Curacio, Aruba on the 8 day eastern. Seeing that Maria may hit Dominican Republic this week it will affect what the do for the future. Just have to wait and see.

I've flown a lot and have had delayed luggage but NOT by more than a week! The system is all automated now and the number Norwegian gives you always goes straight to voicemail. No call back ever.

More about the airline:

The staff that checked us in also served as the gate agent. So staffing is very thin. On our first flight our gate was changed three times and flight delayed 45 minutes. Lucky we had lot is time between connections.

Our second flight was delayed by 40 minutes. The plane was sitting there but no pilots and attendants. Again staffing shortage. Finally they arrived we loaded the plane and taxi onto run way. We were sitting there for a while then pilot came on and said we have to return to gate due to mechinal problem. We continued to sit on run way for another 30 minutes or so. Finally made our way back to gate. Sat on the plane for 2 hours while they tried to fix the problem. Flight attendants were overwhelmed and simply could not respond to passengers needs. Things were eventually fixed and we took off hours late. I was offered food that wasn't edible. Landed back in the states to find my luggage missing. They ask I stay till the end to make sure (it was 1:30am and I had been up 26 hours). As I left the airport I noticed 25+ bags on the conveyor from our flight with not a soul around. No other flights coming in until morning. Looking back I'm pretty sure those were lost bags that they were shipping over.

Anyone still want to fly Norwegian Airline? I wish you the best of luck.

On our cruise they just gave each person six drink tickets for a specific night instead of have a captains cocktail party. We did get lots of chances to meet the officers during the cruise.

I just did a Colosseum and Forum tour with Walks of Italy. Best tour we had in Europe. You meet at the Colosseum though so you would have to get transportation from ship to there. I can recommend the driver we used for two of the days. I would use the roll call to put a tour group together.

I was just in Norway. It is colder there. There was snow on the ground last week. I would bring clothes for cooler weather. It would depend where you go how the views would be.
