  1. I have not heard back from my reply email that told them their were giving some

False answers and I just sent a long detailed email and I am sure that won’t get a reply either. Just don’t understand why they don’t want to review it unless they know why it happened and don’t want it to be public knowledge.

This won’t destroy my cruise or theirs just sucks because each of us planes to take a blue card holder through the process and now they can’t help with it.

  2. More likely an issue with the IT, browser and computer.

I don’t see how it would be a browser or computer as 5 smart phones 3 laptops and 1 pc all tried to change their time and it still didn’t work. I truly believe that it was something on carnival end.

  3. Check in time and boarding time are not the same thing. Chances are you will all be getting on the ship at the same time. Just relax.

I am well aware of that... my problem is why do some get access to the earlier time and others do not.

I was just curious if others have experienced this... that’s why I asked.

  4. Are the people that got the earlier times Priority or FTTF?

No one is priority or fttf. They have the most days at sea out of everyone.

It does not make sense but carnival does not want to even hear it. This tends to make me believe they know of the issue and don’t want to address it.

  5. So about 12 days ago carnival added earlier times for check in for the January 27th vista. We quickly

Changed to 11:00 and while I changed my parents time I started contacting the 10 people in our group.

One couple went on and they could not change to 11:00 so they logged in as one of the other couples and they could pick the 11:00am time slot. Then they logged back in as them and could not. Then they helped

Another couple change their time... all in all

Everyone but them had the option to change and did.

    They called carnival numerous times

And was told it must have been full and when they told them that wasn’t the case they ended the call.

I emailed carnival and after 11 days got a reply that basically told me I was wrong... that they don’t restrict people from picking times and that they would have had the same option.

I am just blown away that no one wants to hear about it and look into it.

Has anyone else ever had an issue like this when you know others are picking earlier times and you didn’t have the same

    Option.

Sorry about the crap grammar I typed this quick.

  6. I was joking about corporate greed... but double digit growth % is why it goes up. I called carnival and they have never placed a police report or locked anyone up in the brig for steeling a cheers drink and letting someone have it. But I let them know of your concern... Oh and yes that was a joke 2 and I know you can't walk on water that was a joke as well don't want you to die if you try it. Then who would be the ethic police on here?

  7. I highly doubt it cost Carnival more than $1-$2 a drink. If someone maxed out at 15 everyday of a 7 day cruise that's 105 drinks. If it cost Carnival a couple hundred for those drinks they still made a nice little profit since the person paid about $350 (no gratuity) for the package. The 15 drink limit has nothing to do with over serving someone. It's the bottom limit of the profit they want to make.

But what do we know... the ethic police know so much more. But hey I have a marketing degree and who better to blame for increase abuser of the policy or corporate greed...

  8. I would seriously consider suing whatever institution you attended for business school to get your tuition back, because you clearly don't understand business. I will give you a real life scenario which involves a little math:

If a Carnival ship sells just 500 drink packages on a 7 day voyage and each person generously gives away just one drink per day, that's 3500 drinks per week. If Carnival's cost is, lets say, $1.50 per drink, then that's a grand total of $5,250 per week. Assuming each ship sails 52 weeks per year, that's $273,000 per ship per year. Last I heard, Carnival had somewhere over 50 ships, or something like that, so that's $14,196,000 per year in lost profits.

In an era where they are cutting employees on each ship to save a few hundred thousand dollars per year, it seems to me like saving over $14,000,000 per year (a conservative estimate, by the way) would be important to them.

All that and I don't even have a business degree.

The bottom line is that sharing drinks is strictly prohibited and quite frankly, stealing. If you're perfectly OK with that then that says a lot about you.

    Good day!

This was all very cute... you don't have a business degree.

Carnival has stated that they plan to increase revenues in their address to stock holders and the P&L. Carnival has x number of ships. Every year carnival needs to make higher profits. If 2016 they have say 50 ships and in 2017 they continues with said 50 ships.

Now let's assume that in both year all 50 ships sail constant or they have the same number of dry docks.

So in year 2017 they can't add more sailing and they can still only fill every room... so now how do they make more money...

Option A- raise cruise rates (raise it enough that they still fill the same percentage of each ship)

Option B- reduce services- these are the cut backs on quality of food, dinning room table clothes every night.

Option C- increase cost of product sold on ship in stores.

Option D- reduce staff - this is reduce

The number of staff on the ship to save money but not reduce the number of bookings.

Option E- increase packages on ship- raise the drink package and soda packages to make more money but maintain about the same number of packages sold. Also they can raise faster to the fun and other programs.

You see carnival has used all these options to increase revenue because they can't go to the stock holders and say we are making less. The fact is cheers goes up because it has to. Not because Tom shared 1 of his 15 drinks. Carnival has promised to make more money in every category so some research and open your eyes.

I personally don't share my 15 I consume them. But I am not going to log on here and shame people that do share. I am also not going to feel bad for carnival that people's share. If it was hurting them that bad they would police it more on the ships.

Some of you are so holy on here and perfect and never sinned... I am surprised you cruise and don't just walk on water. Have a blessed day!

  9. You should read carnival p&l and read how they deliver a 95 million dollar savings... so again if someone shares a drink off of cheers it isn't going to cause carnival to close. It also points out the double digit growth in profit dollars for 2017... so the reason stuff is going up is carnival has a target they need to hit. Maybe you should go back to school and study how things work...

  10. I buy the cheers program. I don't sneak anything on the ship.

How much do you think carnival cost is on one drink? What margin do you think they make on each drink sold?

Carnival raises the rates because they need to make more money every year. My business degree and marketing degree is enough school for me. Oh yeah I also have friends that owned bars and I worked in one right after high school.

  11. The cost doesn't go up because people sneak and share drinks it goes up because that's how business works. The ethics police on cc kill me.

Carnival like all business that have stockholders or want to do well in business have to find ways to increase profits. Carnival has only so many rooms to book and can only buy so many new ships at a time. So the next option is to make a higher profit on what they sell already.

So let's stop blowing the ethics whistle and sitting on the high horse.

  12. You graduated with 3.89 GPA and don't know the proper use of adverbs? It's "I took school very seriously.", not "I took school very serious."

I guess they taught adverbs while you were on those cruises.

Thank you for the refresher and thanks for the comment. Grammar is important. However, being a total d bag is something you are very educated on.

  13. Help me out on Galveston. the main reason we have stayed clear of the Breeze is Galveston. It's 1 1/2 hours from Bush Airport. rental car companies will not allow a one way drop off from Houston to Galveston. We don't want to start our trip out with $200 RT transportation.

I would look for a car deal and rent it for two days.... and then just drop if off a day earlier than planned or use a shuttle as others have pointed out. we shuttled back from that cruise to the hotel.
