  1. I think I would still put the 11 year old in the double car. The cars go quite fast (they feel fast) and they aren't on a track like a Disney ride. If your child has experience on go karts then I'd say the 11 year old could do it, but if not, I think they'd have a better time if an adult is driving.

I didn't see any bumping when I was driving and I only saw one child bump into the side guards a few times when I was watching. From what I could see, drivers were very mindful not to bump into each other.

I am sailing in September with an 11 year old and 7 year old. They both really want to try the go karts. I am thinking that I would do the double kart and ride with the 7 year old, but do you think the 11 year old would be ok alone? How difficult are they to drive? How likely will it be that those who want to go fast might bump her? I have been reading that it's really not for kids....
  2. Hey guys!

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Norwegian Bliss during its inaugural trip from Seattle. What an amazing ship it is!!! I loved so many things about it but the race track was my favorite amenity.

I've written a post about all the details you need to know about the race track. Please let me know here or post on the blog if you have any other questions. I'm happy to answer anything you want to know.

    • Do you know where your passport is?
    • Set up appropriate alert with your financial institution for your credit cards
    • Verify hotel and flight information
    • No' date=' really do you know where your passport is and is it valid for at least six months?
    • Make sure work email is cleared out, and that there is adequate coverage while you are gone from work. Put in the correct out-of-office message on your email and phone (as if anyone pays attention to it)
    • Make sure you bring home the USB charger, extra cables, and that USB battery.
    • Seriously, do you know where your passport is and is it packed in your carry-on luggage?
    • Print out a hard copy of the check-in documentation as well as store a PDF copy into a online storage such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive
    • Scan a copy of the front page of your passport
    • Make sure you have a set of earbuds handy
    • Honey, where are our passports? We got 'em. Good, I can relax.

LOL. You're funny. Should I assume that you've lost your passport once before?

  3. Hi everyone!

I'm quite a junior cruiser but I'm writing a post on my blog for things to do before going on a cruise. Some things are quite obvious but I'd love to know what YOU do before going on a cruise. Not talking about the obvious now, thinking of things that most newbie cruisers might now think about.

    I've got:

    - Make show reservations (on certain ships)

    - Make dinner reservations

    - Research restaurant menus

    - Research ports

    - Book excursions

    What else??

    TIA!

  4. Sorry, thought it was a 2 nighter also. I think they are still able to do the cruises to nowwhere. There have been some for pre inaugurals out of Miami and other US ports after they enforced the PVSA.

Anyway it´s not an Alaskan cruise so no destinations in Alaska - just Victoria BC.

    steamboats

Your photos and post is amazing steamboats! I'm getting so excited for our mini cruise!

  5. Thanks, I’ve saved that. Your opinion on family friendly parts of the ship and schedule would be really great as well. So much of what’s been covered has been from an adult perspective. We’ll be with small kids so your thoughts from a parental perspective (even without your kids actually present) would be invaluable.

Yes!! I usually travel with kids so I will absolutely be paying attention to all kid-friendly aspects of this trip. My kids are actually devastated that they aren't coming with us because they LOVED the last cruise we did.

Many more “occupied” chairs than I can count of people actually here, so we’re camped out at the heated tile lounge chairs.

How much is the spa pass? I think this is something my husband and I would really enjoy. Do you purchase it once onboard?

  7. I'm wondering how they are using the Observation lounge for meals. Mini-buffet? Would love to see lots of picture of the entire Observation area since it takes up such a huge section of that deck. Very different from prior ships.

Also very interested in seeing more about the changes in the casino area. It looks to be set up differently than the Escape and 'away' ships with the large enclosed portion designated for smoking. Are they duplicating the more popular slot machines in both areas? Pictures would be great!

Thanks for posting this. I will do my best to take lots of photos of the Observation lounge and the casino.

I've been on the Escape and loved the layout, it will be interesting to compare.

  8. Hi everyone!

I'm Ladena. I'm a travel blogger from Canada.

I'm so excited because I'll be on the NCL Bliss Inaugural press trip at the end of May from Seattle. I'm following all the posts about the Bliss here because I'm soooooo looking forward to get on the ship.

I'll be writing and sharing tons while on the Bliss so I want to know what you guys want to know about the ship the most?? What photos do you want to see?? Any food or drinks I must try and report back with.

Seriously... tell me what to look out for as I want to be able to share ALL the good stuff.

    Thanks all!:*
