Thank your for the backup info.  Or rather, yours should be primary info.  Seems better than my source.  i did look in the trackers and I'm sorry but didn't see the EAL airplane enroute anywhere, so that might confirm the maintenance issue.  Sorry about tha, peoples.

Wow, that’s what we heard and feared. Thanks for the info!

Based on what is schedule today as of 10:45am EST for SJU to MIA for NCL there are 800 seats available.  (That includes the Eastern flight getting out today, presently on maintenance.)

    The flights are:

    World Atlantic Airlines #902  MD83

    Eastern Airlines #8001 B762

    Omni Air Express #330 B763

    World Atlantic Airlines #903  MD83

The above does not include any passengers that were able to be but on scheduled AA flights today. I am sure they are trying to get more flights but it will be hard over the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US. If I see more flights appear I will try to update hte list.

Is this list of flights including those that already left today?

The Jade will be TOWED to Miami beginning at 7:00 AM Puerto Rico time.  Everyone should be off by then.

Thats what we heard. There is still over 1,500 passengers on it at this time and no flights going out for several hours. The plane for the 12:45 is down for repairs and the flight has been canceled.

  4. Update:

Just informed by staff that the passengers who left for the last flight (12:45) is now being sent back to the ship. Their plane broke down and now all flights are being pushed back. Also they are trying to have all guest off the ship today and motor coached to hotels in San Juan for the evening. They are trying to have everyone off the boat so they can send the boat off for repairs. No one knows how many days we may be stuck at the hotels trying to get flights out.

Everyone needs to be very vocal in this not happening for there will be major issues trying to get flights and food at the hotels once this happens since they won’t have the pressure they do now to get this resolved quickly, since the ship would be heading back for repairs and not costing the cruise line time and money!!!

This morning has gone smooth so far. Will be on first flight out today, 1030.  Flying World Atlantic. Met at 7am.  Was on bus by 8.  7 or 8 ncl representatives at airport and walked us through airport. First, our luggage was scanned and we picked the luggage up by the airline check in.  Got our tickets, checked our bags and thru tsa quickly.  For all those still on the ship, there is nothing to worry about as the process goes very smoothly.  Safe travels and a happy holiday to all.

Awesome, glad to know. Thanks for the heads up!

  6. Yesterday we found out some very unfortunate news. A couple on the ship was to get married at St.Thomas. They lost all of their deposits for the venue and vendors they were using for their wedding and now are not sure when they will be able to get married. Their marriage license is no longer good and all of their family traveled with them on the cruise for their big day.

We also found out that two couples on this cruise were on their honey moon and don’t know when they will be able to do another one since they used all of their PTO for their wedding and this trip.

So just remember, this trip was vacation for most of us but was something much more for others.

  7. Still haven’t received any notice of what flight we are assigned to. Are they still notifying cruisers of their flights via letters on their stateroom door and over the PA system? You would think we would have been notified by now of when our flight will be today. They had all night to notify everyone. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

There was an NCL rep there, but since we had a connecting flight booked already, she just showed us which direction to go to get to American Airlines ticket counter. She did tell one couple to go upstairs to try and secure a hotel and that hotel shuttles were also upstairs. Hopefully someone else can give you more information that interacted with her.

Awesome, that is good to hear. Thanks so much for all the info you have provided to us today. It was very appreciated and informative! Safe travels back home and Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Ours was Eastern airlines. We did have a flight attendant escort us to baggage. It took about 30 minutes for luggage to start arriving. Then, we were on our own to get to our connecting flights. We booked our connecting flight in advance of arriving to Miami. FYI...airport is very, very busy due to holiday, but you can quickly get through security if you have TSA precheck or global entry cards. We had 1 1/2 hours until our connecting flight and made it. Hope all of this is helpful! Safe travels to all of our fellow cruisers on the Jade.

Was there any NCL staff assisting cruisers at the airport with getting their hotel rooms and their connecting flights, like they kept informing us they would do, or did they just leave everyone stranded at the airport and say not our problem anymore, contact the corporate NCL phone number for any further questions and concerns?

Update...we are still sitting on plane waiting. People are getting frustrated and irritated as we don’t know what the hold up is about and many have connecting flights in Miami. Be sure to give yourself extra time for those on the second charter flight to make your connection in Miami. Everyone involved is trying to make the best out of a bad situation.

Omg I’m so sorry to hear this! We are still on the ship.

Sitting on tarmac with 5 other buses waiting and waiting to load charter flight. They’re trying their best given the situation. All passengers are being pleasant and we just want to get home. My husband and I were called at 10 am to be ready by noon as our flight was departing at 4 pm. We were also told a NCL rep would be with all of us to escort passengers to the buses, on the bus and on the plane. We have not seen one NCL rep since we scanned our ship card during disembarkation. More information would be helpful for those of us trying to book flights home from Miami. I was down at guest services at 7 am and they told me at that time there was room on the 4 pm flight.

Thanks for the update. This is a perfect example of information that we wouldn’t know from NCL or the shipper staff. Safe travels! Please keep us updated what happened next as y’all are the first ones flying out.

  12. Currently on the Norwegian Jade and was just informed by the captain over the PA system that the remaining 7 days of our South Caribbean cruise is canceled due to mechanical problems. Anyone know any information on what’s going on, how we are getting back to Miami from Puerto Rico and what’s going to be offered as compensation.
