  1. We just sailed the Dream 2 weeks ago as it returned from Drydock..... the slides, the hot tubs did not work for the 1st 2 days as for the slides. The hot tubs were rarely open and if so, only 1 or 2 of all of them would be open and only then late afternoon. Many drydock items didn't get finished...workers were onboard roping sections off of the serenity deck one entire day. By the time you cruise, all should be finished [emoji4]

  2. Glad to hear such a positive review...seems to be so many negative comments about the Dream on the boards. Why do you think this is? I'm looking forward to our cruise in May and glad that we picked the Spa level. :)

  3. Those are mostly the concerns on post drydock voyages. Post-job checklists still remain unresolved. But glad you still enjoyed your cruise despite these. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you. I guess we assumed it would all be ready. Lesson learned [emoji41]. Thanks for that tip!

  4. Yes, we just got back from a Carnival cruise on Sunday & took sealed snacks ( pb crackers & cereal bars) with us to the ports. Good thing we did because the "all you can eat " buffet & beach excursion carnival sold ran out of food ... one of our friends that went is a diabetic & had to rely on her own food that day !!

  5. Just returned on 2/19/17. This *balcony* room overlooks a DECK , with smoker area just below it. Unlike most balconies that look straight down to the water this one has a deck below it.

If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke this is not the room for you. Also, one of the clubs that plays music all night is either below or just above and you will hear that all night long.

We booked last minute so I didn't have a better choice of a room but if you can choose, this room is not the best unless the things I mentioned do not bother you.

Now I know why it was the only one left.

  6. We just returned from the Dream after a few updates including Guy's Burgers , Pig & Anchor & the Cantina.

Hub app - The ship did not have the new hub app in place as we were told it would when I spoke to a Carnival rep when reservations were made.

Hot tubs & slide - the slide never opened until Late Monday afternoon around 4. The hot tubs never worked from Sunday's sail day until late Tuesday afternoon, and even then only one was open. For some reason they never opened all of them ( I counted 6 but there could have been more) and on the serenity deck, only 1 of the 2 would be open IF and when they chose to open it. As soon as one would open it would be so crowded you couldn't get in. I don't cruise to sit in a hot tub, but of all the ones on there, only 1 or 2 max would be open. If they are on the ship they should work period.

Serenity deck - Workers roped off sections of the serenity level to apply contact paper that looks like wood to the metal pergola and that limited the seating area for the days at sea

Service - outstanding! friendliest staff I've seen in a LONG time on CCL.

Food - the steakhouse is a must do at least one time. Worth the $$

Decor - nice, new carpet in high traffic areas but not in rooms & our curtains could have used some love during that drydock.

We had a great time but was a little disappointed that a lot of things didn't get attention or repairs needed - slide and hot tubs obviously- before it left drydock.

  7. We've been on many Carnival cruises and have seen men wearing shorts in the main dining room. Personally, I do not think it should be allowed & if you want to wear shorts then eat in the other areas offered. For those of us that pack and wear what the rules say it's annoying. Furthermore, some people will always push the limits by wearing cut off shorts which was seen on the cruise we just got off of!
