  1. Hi All......great to read about all the adventures......

Lois....our clocks here in the UK don’t go forward until the end of this month...hope you enjoyed the St Augustine shopping, it’s a lovely place..we used to visit the O’Steins restaurant there.

JP....have been following along with your NY recommendations and passed a few on to my kids who are going over in two weeks...they are staying at the Lotte NY Palace....

Loving the bread making posts Jeffers....am off the stuff right now as I’m trying to shed some pounds!

Have joined a local spa to assist with the toning up and quite enjoying it.....up to now!

    Happh Day 😊

No you shouldn't.  Giving a bit of amusement and joy to others shouldn't be on the embargo list of innocent pleasures ...

I found myself musing on your words .... and thought of ...

    The Seven Ages of Man

Speech from William Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Act II scene vii

Jaques: "All the world's a stage,

And all the men and women merely players:

    They have their exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,

Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.

And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel

And shining morning face, creeping like snail

Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,

Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad

Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,

Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,

Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,

    Seeking the bubble reputation

Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,

In fair round belly with good capon lined,

With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,

    Full of wise saws and modern instances;

And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts

Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,

With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,

His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide

For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,

Turning again toward childish treble, pipes

And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,

That ends this strange eventful history,

Is second childishness and mere oblivion,

Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything."

Bookings made direct receive theirs direct from SS. (UPS from Milan if my memory serves me?)

Bookings made by a TA are at the mercy of their efficiency and urgency.

Thankfully my TA is both efficient and on the ball...😊

Isn't having these kind of decisions fun?  🙂 Choosing food shopping or fun eating.  Either would be great!

So pleased to know you and Myster are having fun.....will look forward to your Tahiti  visit report....it’s one of my very favourite places....😊

    • Thanks 1
  5. Hi To One and All.....

So lovely to read about the fabulous adventures of those travelling.....have been trying to keep up!

DW...loving the GinFest! For some reason the said liquor doesn’t agree with me these days so l stick to Vodka! 😉

Mysty...your big adventure is sounding very exciting......yours too JP and Chris....

Jeffers....so good to see the Big Mac is still on offer in Singapore!!

    Bill...your planned trip sounds amazing.....

Lois...retirement is brilliant....hope you have lots of good trips on your bucket list!

Nothing planned here until my next cruise in May.....have been trawling around the local garden centres buying up some festive stuff at half price.....most of which l will probably forget about by December 🎄

The seasonal snowdrops are starting to shoot up but the weather has been rather mild lately...snow is however forecast for next weekend which will most likely encourage the panic buyers into action!

    Happy Weekend 😊

  6. Hi All....

    M...l liked that funny!

JP...your festive trimmings look lovely...hope they don’t work you too hard pre Christmas!

Jeffers....I’m looking into doing a Christmas Market next year as my cruise schedule is being altered to accommodate one’s DD 40th Birthday celebrations in November.....Vienna is top of my list as I’ve never been there.

Lois....hope your network is back up soon...enyoy the break in the meantime!

Have more or less finished the house Xmas decorations so can now concentrate on the food goodies...daughter and l have been out today leisurely browsing and enjoying the local choirs and brass bands performing in the stores.....always brings a tear to my eyes to see them all.....

I see today is the anniversary of John Lennons demise....so sad as he wrote some amazing songs along with Sir Paul.....it reminds me of my teenage years when the Mersey Beat in Liverpool brought out some amazing talent which l was lucky enough to be part of.....IMAGINE the thrill of those heady days...☺️

    Happy Weekend 😊

  7. Greetings Coolers....

So much to catch up on but all looking good.....not sure if I’ll find any glitches or chromes 🧐 when posting but we shall see!

Post vacation has found me very busy with the festive season looming....l had the most fabulous trip and all was excellent.

I have this week to complete the trimming up and then have several parties to look forward to including Christmas Lunch on the Orient Express Northern Belle which I’ve done before and is rather a treat to behold....

Lovely as usual to see the foodie pics and follow along with all of you that have travelled and yet to do so...😊

  8. Excellent post there Jeffers....the pic captures me so well 🙈😂

Happy Halloween Day.....we are lucky around here, seems to be an unwritten rule that unless l have my pumpkins on show the kids don’t bother me...and who can blame them!! 😉

Just two days to go before departure ....last job being tomorrow when four paws tootles off to his Pooch Nanny....the worst job for me!

So another adventure about to begin and another birthday whilst on board in Bermuda....one of my very favourite places 😊

  9. Thanks All.....

JP...good to know there’s little chance of snow this weekend...rain l can cope with if the cab drivers are not hiding!!

Wishing you both a happy weekend away...

M...l do agree that NY can be the best place in snow....reminds me of the good old movies.....but not whilst I’m busy trying to shop in just one day 🧐

Frantic...glad you enjoyed Jane...she been filming in Oz these past few weeks so hopefully there will be more to come...and she is great fun!

This morning has been final laundry day..anything left my cleaner will sort so l don’t worry too much...

The dehumidifier has now worked magic on the wet carpets so all is good ....

    Happy Day 😊

  10. Hello All....have finally had time to try and catch up with everyone....

It’s been a very testing time having found part of my brand new renovation work under water last week...result being two bathrooms have been ripped out and it took the plumber four hours to find the source of the leak...right now l have a dehumidifier in place drying it all out before the repair work can start..which will be done whilst I’m away!!

While it has been a tad stressful I’m very lucky as it could have been a lot worse had l not been here so I’m counting blessings!

As departure looms l am packed and ready to leave for NYC on Friday  and really hoping there is no snow forecast as l intend to do some serious Christmas shopping!

As usual, lovely to see the delicious food pics and read all the news.....😊

  11. Hi All....trying to wade my way through all the new stuff with great difficulty but in all fairness haven’t had much time....great to catch up and see everyone in good spirits....talking of which 😜 just two weeks to go until my next soirée! The usual pre voyage appointments are well underway and the cruise rail full!

    😊

  12. G’Day All....

M...that’s such lovely news about your DIL....she must be over the moon as you are and how good to have news to smile about 😀

My friend is finally home from hospital and doing well ...despite being bored...she tells me!!

JP....it is certainly comfort food time...today is yet another chicken casserole with creamed spinach and mash.....hope you enjoy your short break.

I’m sure Jeffers is having fun with his remote M....can be a very testing time having new gadgets installed....

For the third time in weeks my landline went down this week...again.....such a pain but in all fairness the engineer came today and fixed it...their fault as someone cut my line in the main junction box up the road....

Cruise rail continues to fill up...more dresses arrived this morning so time to go and try on....one has to imagine what they will look like when one is all spruced up and not looking like a slob...😳

    S😊

  13. I’ve done many transatlantic voyages both on Cunard and SS....the weather can be unpredictable on the Atlantic and even on the big liners one can feel great movement in rough seas....

You will undoubtedly feel more motion on the smaller vessels....

It all depends on the degree of sea sickness you can cope with and the impact it may have with the enjoyment of the voyage.

    S😊

  14. G’Day......fabulous pics M...today it’s really autumnal here as leaves continue to fall....🍃

Thanks DW for the kind thoughts....early morning breakfast duties sound very tiring.....hoping to get up and stay over with four paws sometime....

Friend is still in hospital but no worse......taking other friends out for luncheon tomorrow...two youngsters who have been back packing around the world since January so lots of tales to tell me!

Today more holiday clothing has been placed on the rail.....once it’s full I’m hoping to halve it..🤨

Organic chicken breasts for lunch in a white wine and cream sauce with roast potatoes and cauliflower....comfort food as the days draw in......😊

  15. Mix n Match....one pair of palazzo pants or a long/midi skirt with different tops/blouses/jacket....a short cocktail dress will also suffice dressed up with accessories...😊

  16. Hey M......saw the empty seat earlier this week....did try to keep it warm for you but have been otherwise occupied for which l apologise....

One of my dearest and close friends was rushed into hospital with a suspected heart attack....quite a shock and upsetting ....she’s still in the cardiac unit but doing well so fingers crossed...

Jeffers.....forget the oysters...I’ll take the comfort food anytime....well done Mrs J!

    Happy weekend all 😊

  17. Yes....the anytime menu is a great alternative.... l always ask for this at dinner as one does become a tad bored with the repetitive offerings....l can highly recommend the classic prawn cocktail or melon with prosciutto for something simple to start....earlier this year on the Spirit we enjoyed a superb Indian banquet which was pre ordered....so no need to despair at all....😊

  18. Looks like your having a great time Jeff.

Miss S, I’m sorry the Imp wasn’t up to scratch. How was the Osbourne?

Glad you had a great time though. Venue Cymru are appalling. Apart from a few (over)paid staff that are rarely there, they run the place on volunteers that are happy to work in exchange for a meal and watching a show. I’ve had issues there before now at times. Anyway i’ve Heard our Jane was on top form. I’m not jealous at all.

    M, how was the Schnitzel?

DW....we didn’t get to the Osbourn as the weather was so bad so we opted for a late lunch at The Imp...🤨

Jane was on top form and her usual lovely self......there were quite a few return tickets but you have to be there on an in case of so a bit of a pain!

The volunteers seem to grow in number every year and need more training as they just add to the chaos!

Anyway....heads up for you, Jane is on there on June 9th next year so keep an eye open for tickets sales...usually early October.

    S😊
