  1. We like Nassau, but we don't really spend time in the immediate port area. Last time, we went on a Rum Runners tour by Islandz tours and really liked it. They took us to Graycliff, which was fascinating in itself..and next time we find ourselves in Nassau we will definitely check out Graycliff again. The Queen's Staircase and library are neat. Sandals offers day passes, as well as other resorts. It's definitely not a fun port for kids, unless you stop at Atlantis.

  2. America Rocks has live music. It was ok. Cool to have live music, but pretty cheesy and you better be a fan of Lynard Skynard. I wanted to see 88 keys, but they had to do a variation of them sitting around a piano because seas were too rough & it was dangerous for them to perform. Nick (can't remember his last name) on the magic who played the piano was great in everything he did. The girls seemed like they were trying to out-screech each other the entire time and it seemed like whoever was doing the sound wasn't doing it right. Didn't see The Quest but heard it was great. Nothing I saw that was "can't miss it". Definitely better shows on the cruises I was on 10-12 years ago. We had Dr. E as our CD so that definitely made up for the sub-par shows. The cast is talented, but the production is just blah.

  3. My husband and I ate at the steakhouse on the magic last week. We loved it. It is 35$ pp, and yes you can pay extra in the dining room for steak but the steakhouse also has appetizers, deserts, etc that are only available there. The first night you get a free bottle of wine or 1/2 off a bottle. We did it without the free bottle and it was definitely worth it. Where else can you get a 9 oz filet and 4 courses for 35?!?

  4. It's a matter of opinion, but Lamanai from Belize City are some of the best ruins, and even hailed by experts. Lamanai is a definite adventurous trek. Tulum (from Cozumel) is definitely not the nicest....it was kind of like that smaller, cheaply built ones. Altun Ha very close to Belize City is kind of the same thing, but I would rate those a step above Tulum. BUT, if you just want to see Mayan ruins, who cares?! Just go for what you feel like. Lamanai is a whole day. That will be all you do, and that isn't what a lot of people want. I have taken a few college classes on the Maya, so I'm kind of picky. Tulum and Altun Ha are still beautiful!
