  1. Hi Violet,

I made the booking through a US travel agent, directely on their website. The price difference was very important : almost dubble the price when booking via MSC Europe. I had no problem boarding.

    Hope this helps

  2. We did not complain officialy if that is what you mean. We’re on a holiday and we really do not want to waste precious time.

We did mention to the staff in the YC restaurant that we thought some of the food was bad and as I  mentionned the were aware of this.

The situation with the sommelier was just hilarious.

  3. None of the food was inedible but there were dishes that were bad. Staff even apologized for some of the dishes that were served and admitted that they were not good. The maitre 'd said the same and blamed it on all passangers coming to dinner at the same time.

One of the dishes that were really bad was the lobster tail. It was really rubbery and tasteless. There was also no consistency in the dishes. For exemple with the lobster tail, I got some carrots and that was it. The guest at the table next to us got no vegetables but they got sauce. Another table got carrots, asparagus and sauce. Sometimes even dishes at the same table were different.

I believe there was a real staffing problem as in they were understaffed and as I mentionned before the maitre 'd was very flamboyant but I found that he hindered the staff more then he helped them. It was really funny to see when one evening the YC director come to dinner and as soon as he came in the maitre 'd became much more professional.

As I mentioned in my previous post the sommelier was a joke. One night we asked for a more robust wine and he came over with a bottle and started explaining about the wine. Well he didn't say a lot, he just said that wine only came onboard yesterday and he doesn't know anything about it. He then shoved the wine in my face and asked me to read the label (did he forget his glasses?) and tell him the "cepage". My husband and myself found this hilarious and could not stop laughing. I don't know that much about wine but I get the feeling that I could have done better then him.

  4. Just thought I'd share our experience of the YC restaurant on the Preziosa.

They did ask us upon check about our preferred dining time. We said 8 to be told not possible please come at 8.30. Sure no problem, this was the Christmas cruise and fully booked so we understood. The first night we waited 10 minutes to be seated. Second night, third night close to half an hour and fourth night over half an hour. So for the remainder of the cruise we had extra long aperitifs (with real champagne:classic_wink:) and showed up at 9 - 9.15.

The staff were great, the maître 'd and the sommelier a joke.

The food ranged from OK to bad.

  5. Boarded preziosa a couple of hours ago. Minibar included. All drinks on ship included except with star. At one pool staff asked if de wanted ice-cream and brought us Venchi ice-cream in a cup. No charge. Haven’t tried champagne yet.

  6. Hi,

We just got our etickets for our YC cruise on the Preziosa 22/12 leaving from Martinique

The boarding time stated on the documents is 20.45 with the ship leaving port at 23.00.

We would like to board a lot sooner then that but I have no idea how early we can get there without being refused boarding. Has anyone got any experience with this?

    Thanks for your help

  7. I'm boarding the Preziosa on 22/12 and just got my e-tickets. There is no mention of the mini bar included and that is what worries me most. I booked a year ago so if I don't get the mini bar includes I will made a fuss.

    YOUR CRUISE What is Included
    PRIVILEGES
    Dedicated priority check-in and check-out
    Butler service available 24 hours
    Dedicated concierge available 24 hours
    Room service available 24 hours
Unlimited beverage selection in MSC Yacht Club areas and in all
bars and restaurants of the ship according to the drink selections
    available in the different venues

Complimentary access to the Thermal Suite in the MSC Aurea SPA
Relaxation amenities in each suite (including bathrobe and
    slippers)

In the documents I also have a voucher for bottled water :classic_unsure: don't know why I would need that?!

A question nothing to do with drink package : on my documents it says boarding time 20.45. Do you think we can board earlier then that ?

  8. Hi,

We had a connecting flight in Philadelphia when flying from Paris to Las Vegas last year and 1h55 min should be plenty of time.

It probably took us about 30 minutes to get off the plane, getting our bags, going through transit customs and checking our bags for connecting flight. We even had time for a drink before boarding our second flight.

We sail on Preziosa on Thursday, I'll be ordering a glass of Champagne, a milkshake and have some gelato (not all at the same time) just to see how it goes. The UK site definitely says the mini bar is included so I'm confident that it is, well, almost....

I'm sailing 22nd December on Preziosa (if I'm able to log in the website by then that is) so I'm very much looking forward to hearing how you got on.

    Have a great holiday

For those having problems, have you changes your passwords since the security breach last month?

    Yes so did I.

I booked via TA, so I have contacted them to ask them to try and get an answer from MSC.

I still have a month before sailing but I really would like to get personal information and excursions finalised.
