We will be on the Disney Magic in the spring. Could anyone tell me what Disney disembarkation is like? If there is anyone here who has been through Princess disembarkation how would you compare the two. We would like to be off the ship early but we are renting a car and driving to Walt Disney World so we do not have early flights. On Princess the people off the ship first are either those who can walk off with all of their luggage or people with early flights. We don’t really fit in either category so we’re just wondering how long it will take to get off the ship.

I believe it can be  as early as 7:15 AM. It depends if you want to attend breakfast or not. The usual is first dinner seating goes to breakfast first at The main dining room that you were at the previous evening. After breakfast you can leave as early as you want after that. I believe Cabanas, the buffet restaurant is also open from about 7am. Now this is typical unless there is a delay.

We usually walk off with our luggage, but I believe most the luggage is there waiting. I think they just try to stagger the crowds for disembarking.

My family is always at second seating dinner and nobody ever wants to leave the ship, so we take our time. But what I’ve read and understand as you can get off as soon as they’re ready.

Good luck we we are leaving on the Magic this Wednesday  but it is out of NYC.

  2. I just booked the 5 night out of Miami for January 2020 with stops to GC and CC.  I have cruised on the Dream and Magic, out of PC or NYC.

I like or love both ships.  Dream bigger, a little fancier but a lot more passengers.  The Magic, beautiful ship and less passengers.  And you have a point with extra sea days for Palo.  Just so you know, DCL holds some ressie back for onboard bookings.  So, no matter what trip you take, if you find Palo booked, you will probably be able to book once on board.

My family has never been to Miami, so that was a draw too.  Also, we have been on the Dream to CC and Nassau twice before out of PC.

More days is always better but you cannot go wrong with either cruise.  Cozumel is a very nice stop.  Good luck.

Having never done a DCL cruise I did not know alcohol was even served on their ships  I do and understand WHY there are no casinos ( just bingo, I think but even there I might have the wrong info) the reason, why no casinos, or so I was told, was Disney didn't want the hassle;p. nothing too do with showing the little kiddies the big EVILS of gambling, but drunks ? I guess that's a big part of most kid's life today:confused: Just an observation of a non DCL cruiser. My stepson and his wife and three kids went on one from Kona to either San Diego or SF, and had a GREAT time but since neither drink they didn't mention alcohol.

Not only is alcohol served and as mentioned there are many bars, they also have different alcohol tastings.  Whiskey, wine, mojitio and tequila tastings.  And they always sell out!!

No casinos and that is the reason a lot of aduts and couples cruise Disney. There are a lot of us who are not interested in casinos. But that’s why ice cream comes in many flavors.
