  1. If you take the metro mover in Miami there is a stop for Bayside and there are many restaurants at Bayside Marketplace and a CVS across the street) a longer ride is Brickell and there is a Publix right there. There is a taco place right near that stop that looked AMAZING that we never got to try!

Does the metromover stop close to the hotel? If so which stop would we board at? :)

  2. Thanks to Whitshel for the review its very helpful and fun to follow, and thanks to everyone who has replied to my questions. You all sound like you have a wealth of knowledge between you so one more question if you don't mind. Upon return to Miami we will have quite a few hours to kill as our flight back to the UK isn't until 6.35pm. Would it be worth us booking a ship excursion to pass time or would we be able to find something to do ourselves? The only problem is we will have all our luggage :-( Any ideas/recommendations welcome :-)

  3. Looking forward to following your post. We board on 4th September for our first ever cruise along with our friends who will be celebrating their 25th anniversary. Would you mind if i asked a couple of questions? We too will be staying at Marriott Biscayne Bay the night before. Do you recommend the restaurant there? Will def have breakfast there for convenience but what about dinner? If not the hotel could you recommend somewhere close by? I will need to make a trip to CVS/Walgreen's or similar do you know if there is one of these close by? One more question if you don't mind... we too are booked in a veranda stateroom do they have robes? Won't pack extra if they do. Many thanks in advance, Michelle :-)

  4. We're sailing on Celebrity Equinox in September. We have six ports scheduled in six days. We're looking at a beach excursion at each port. Do you think this is a good idea or could we be overdoing it? Thinking of booking them all in advance to get the payment out of the way and to ensure we get the ones we wanted too. Any advice appreciated :)

  5. Just read on the cruise website that their beach day is to Harbour lights, £23 includes a drink but not sure about chairs etc..

Any advice regarding cruise organised tour over DIY to Boatyard from you fantastic people would be very welcome?

I would like to go out and see the turtles, I believe this is included in the admission at BY but will be pay extra at HL.

There are 4 of us and we are first time cruisers and not sure whether sticking with organised tours will be best. I'm happy to go it alone, but need to convince my fellow travelers. Please give me your honest opinions so I can share. Many thanks in advance for your replies :-)

  6. Thanks for the great report. Really looking forward to our first ever cruise on the Equinox in September.

Any advice for first timers? We're currently trying to decide whether to book the 3 meal specialty package before departure, just under £90 each, would you recommend holding on for offers on board or just book? Also we think the classic drink package should be ok for us but again would you recommend upgrading for more variety? My hubby does like craft beers which I don't think he can get on the classic.

Please share your well earned wisdom if you're able :-)

  7. Thanks blue_water... if you have any suggestions for any of our port visits we are more than happy to take your expert advice. This is our first ever cruise and although we don't want to miss any opportunities to explore we equally want to have some nice relaxing experiences too :-)

  8. After reading lots of info on here I think this is ideally what we would like to do. We will be sailing on Celebrity Equinox in September. From what I have read we will dock at Havensight, please correct me if I'm wrong. Will we be able to walk to the cable car entrance? Also on our return to the bottom what advice can you give regarding Beach & shopping that will not be too far away? Thanks in advance :-)

  9. We are onthis cruise (or very similar) in September and would be very interested in your feedback afteryour return. First time cruisers so no real idea of what to do and where. Myhusband is quite cautious and says we should stick to ship excursions, me onthe other hand am happy to go it alone with the expert advice of fellow travelers. Many thanks in advance to all posters for your valuable input, please keep it coming, my planning book is getting full of ideas :-)

  10. Many thanks for the info on here, do keep adding if you think of anything else.

Does anyone know if there are any menus on here for bars, restaurants, specialty dining or room service for the Equinox?

I have come across some for other ships but I guess they may be pretty much the same.

  11. We will be first timers in September. Would have loved the formal nights, only get to wear my formal dresses once a year on NYE. How dressy is the evening chic? Do ladies wear evening dresses (long) or more just classy cocktail dresses (short)? Also do men bother with dinner suits?
