  1.

The reasons I will never cruise again is because a month after getting off the cruise I still have motion sickness. My head is heavy, I feel like I am bobbing up and down, sometimes I feel like I'm walking on a water bed, it is very unpleasant. After researching this could last for years. I don't know how I will handle this if it lasts that long.

I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience. Please research and tell your doctor about MdDS (Mal de Debarkment). My DW has had this condition from 2013 and is presently getting treating for MdDS.

    Good luck!

What does his treatment entail? Where is he receiving it?

  2. I will start by saying I loved my NCL Breakaway cruise to Bermuda. I have no complaints except for a crowded pool, but that is to be expected.

Taking a vacation that I enjoyed that leaves you feeling sick and broken is beyond upsetting.

For those who have NCL planned, enjoy them. It was wonderful at the time.

  3. When I first started cruising, the Mal de embarkment syndrome (sort of reverse sea sickness) I got was pretty much about a week. Except one cruise, it took about a month to fully resolve itself.

It's not really anything to worry about. It will resolve itself. If it doesn't, then it's something else.

I don't seem to have as much problem with it now, but it's still there for a few days after cruising.

I have read about it lasting for months. I am seeing an ENT, even though I'm not expecting anything major to come out of it. It is very scary and overwhelming. I don't even want to move. As the day goes on it gets worse and in general the symptoms are getting worse instead of better. I am trying to stay positive but it's hard.

  4. I was wondering how long it takes most people to stop feeling like they are on a cruise. I am woobly/swaying/rocking, feel dizzy and nauseous, my head feels heavy and my ears feel full. I am looking for other people's experiences and how long this may last. I am afraid it is MdMS.

  6. How do you handle your attire when in Bermuda? Each day I'm planning on doing site seeing and beach going. Do you change into your suits?

I realize this is a silly question, but with all the bus/car time on the island and going from site seeing to water, I am trying to figure out the best way to not look like a drippy mess or a stuffed sausage!

  7. We just got back June 18th. It would be cloudy in the morning then clear up. More like passing storms for us. Mostly sunny in afternoon. One night it rained. Hope all is perfect for you! If you are swimming it does not matter anyway!

Thanks. I would be totally ok with your exact forecast!

  8. For those of you who have gone to Bermuda, what are the rain chances? Next week it looks like the three port days say 40%-50% rain.

Is this like rain in Orlando? Is it a passing storm?

    My happy face is saddening.

    Thanks for your help.

  9. Yes, the bus will drop you at a bus stop close to Gibbs, but will leave about .3 mile walk to the L/H.

The route #7 bus departs the Dockyard every 30 minutes on the :20 and :50.

Yes, the bus will drop you close to the access road to Warwick Beach, but tell the bus driver as you board that you want to be dropped at the WB access road.

    SBtS

    Thank you!!!

  10. Bunch of questions....

1 - Does bus 7 stop at Gibbs lighthouse

2 - how often do they run, every 15 min? 25 min? Etc

3 - will bus 7 drop me off at Warwick Beach? (Want to walk down to Horseshoe)

    Thank you for your help!

  11. Login.com and Logout.com are your "commands" to sign-in and sign-out against your 250 free internet minutes while onboard, that's about 4 hours of usage for the duration, not a lot.

SIgn in (login.com) when you need to do something and immediately sign out (logout.com) and the usage meter screen will pop up to display your usage and remaining minutes. That's is as much alert as you will get. If you go over or run out, it will simply stopped working (some reported that extra minutes were billed as PAYG, thus, it's important to logoff each time, if you forgot - those minutes can add up quickly at 75 cents to 95 cents a minute). If that happened accidentally, speak to the onboard internet manager the first chance you have for a solution or adjustment, etc. - they are generally very nice & helpful, don't wait till the last day onboard. Accured charges are posted to your Onboard stateroom account - you can use the free iConcierge App to check & review it daily for anything out of the ordinary.

Satellite broadband is on a shared path with dynamic bandwidth being "metered" and prioritized for ship use, safety & navigation - the # of users active and "online" will affect the experience of all users at any given time. Try to find an "off-peak" time to log-in and you will likely get better results. Can't speak for the Epic, on the Breakaway - it worked great & quite fast for a satellite link (nothing compared to a quantum Fios speed of 75 to 100+ in upload or download, but it works). On the Gem, it was slower but still far better than analog & comparable to old copper DSL line, like 3G speed - but like the BA, upload was faster than download, functional & things like Facetime, Facebook, Hangouts, Skype & basic webmail & online browsing usually loaded.

Given the choice of a tablet/iPad or laptop or netbook PC, go with the iPad or smartphone as there's less data "overheads" and turn off background data loading & automatic downloads, as those will clog up and slow everything else down - optimize your setup, ask a tech geek friend to help before leaving to "tune-up" your gadgets first. Have fun !

Where do you find the login.com and logout.com? Is it a "button" to press or do you actually have to type it in.

  12. Pay your DSC and nothing else is expected. If you ask for extra things or if someone does an exceptional job, a tip at the end is a nice gesture but not required.

I never pre-tip; it feels insulting to me. Like I don't think the person will do their job unless I wave money at them.

I never thought of that, pre-tipping being insulting, but that definitely makes sense.

  13. Hi. I am in a mini-suite and I'm trying to figure out how much most people tip the person who takes care of their cabin.

    Do I pre-tip?

Do I pre & post tip?

I don't want to be cheap.

    Thanks for your help.
