With Club Royale I received a “free” cruise on the Allure.  As part of the offer, they gave me additional casino credits if I booked a guaranteed ocean view balcony.  The cruise is about 30 days out and the room has not been formally assigned.  I can see the room number with the apple wallet trick. I have a connecting room on deck 14 right under the hot tub on deck 15.  I am not sure I want to be under the hot tub with possible related noise while sitting on the balcony.  Will they let me switch rooms before it is formally assigned? If I switch rooms (and move to a non-connected ocean view balcony), will they remove the casino credit?

    What’s the trick?

Any chance you can take your son with you so you don't lose t b e cruise?

No, it's sold out of three person cabins and my mom is ill.  I don't want to leave her.  We canceled.  It's a bummer but it is what it is.  I called back and spoke to a very nice supervisor and she is going to see if she can help given our situation.

  3. My husband and I are supposed to be sailing this Friday on a club Royale casino comped cruise. My mom was supposed to watch our son and she is sick and cannot so it looks like we can’t go. We cashed in Bank of America points to put a 300 dollar onboard credit on our account. Can we get those put back on our card?

Do you need to register for this before you can use it?  I ask, because if I put my data in  I get nothing.  Zero casino points.  I know I don't spend much, but I should have a few points.  My wife also had problems for a while, and it took the casino host and some magic beans to finally solve the issue.

It looks like the points just reset for everyone to zero a few weeks ago. I have zero as well.

  5. I’m very annoyed with RC. We had a free cruise booked through Club Royale and it was canceled once already. They allowed us to move it to January with no problem at all. Since it was canceled again, they won’t do anything for us, including allow us to speak to a supervisor. My husband was told that the rep’s supervisor, Jarrod, doesn’t speak to people. I’d really surprised at the rude treatment. Don’t they want loyal customers to come back?

  6. This is the first time I have ever received Club Royale offers.  I used one to book a cruise over Thanksgiving weekend and I have three more offers available.  Am I understanding correctly that if we are not comfortable sailing that we can cancel up to three days prior to sailing for a full refund of the taxes and port fees?  I hate throwing away free cruises but I'm a nervous nelly about this virus and I'm not holding out much hope that I will actually feel safe cruising this year.

  7. A little background with this question.

My husband and I used to be avid cruisers.  We got married 15 years ago and our honeymoon was our first cruise together and we reached Diamond status pretty quickly, taking usually 3 cruises a year.  About 3 and a half years ago, our son Zachary, who was 3 at the time, was diagnosed with Leukemia.  We haven't cruised since and we miss it.  Zachary rang his end of treatment bell a few months ago and it looks like he will get his port out in the next month or two.  My husband and I would like to take a cruise alone, for three nights, after the Thanksgiving holiday.  We have enough points on our Bank of America card to cover a free 3/4 night cruise.  The thing is...we are nervous.  Well, mostly me.  I'm worried that if we book it he might relapse.  Or end up sick and I wont want to go.  And then I was thinking about travel insurance but I don't know if that would do anything for us since we are booking with a certificate and I'm not sure that would cover our situation anyway.  Our son has been doing well and there is no real reason not to go at this point.

So I guess I'm asking, what would you do and also will insurance help us at all if we are using a BOA certificate?  If we can't go for any reason, are we out of luck?

  8. Ok, just gotta ask, what would you do differently now? I think you handled it perfectly. Simply saying "yes" is a GREAT comeback. Simple, to the point, the perfect comeback. Sort of stopped the guy in his tracks. Good job!

I think I would have snapped a photo of him and told him I'll know who to coming looking for if I had any issues. I suppose you are right though. Probably would have made things worse.

  9. When we sailed out of either Miami or Fort Lauderdale about 8 years ago, I handed the porter 6 dollars for our 2 bags. He said, this is what you give the person in charge of your luggage? I was so stunned and pretty intimidated so I just said yes and he looked at me a second and put the bags on the cart. It was an awful way to start the cruise. Looking back and being older and braver I would have handled that quite different today.
