  1. Thanks everyone! We made it on with no problems. Arrived at 10:30, was on the ship before 11:30. I was pretty impressed with how quickly the process was for getting on the ship. We were arraigned FNDR at Giovanni's and they said we could only chose between it and Sabor. At first I was a little annoyed, but since we were Considering it anyway, I decided to have a drink and get my panties out of a bunch. We are doing dinner with the kids tonight, so fingers crossed for a few bites of warm food and maybe less than five dirty looks from other people . One mad already said something ugly to me about having a baby on the baby. But whatever. Not gonna ruin our fun! Our rooms (two adjoining balcony rooms) were ready at 1:00 and we found all four bags just walking in the hall to our room. Waiting now on our crib and for someone to open up our partitions. So impressed already with this ship. My 9 year old feels like she has died and gone to heaven. I had the room decorated for her birthday and it looks great!

  2. We are an hour and 15 minutes away from Port! Traveling with hubby and two daughters (9 as of two days ago and an 11 month old). Will do trip report when I get back. Any questions I can get answered while on the ship I'm happy to try. Any last minute tips? Still haven't decided which restaurant to try tonight with our FNDR. Suggestions?

  3. We are cruising in a month with our 11 month old and 9 year old. We travel a lot and they are great travelers, but this is our first RCCL cruise. They usually do well at restaurants, but on most vacations there are usually a few nights where they are just too tired for a complicated dinner and we end up eating in. Are there any options for eating in other than just room service for my husband and myself? Like can one of us get food from the dining rooms to go? Or the buffet to go back to the room? Anything really great on the new room service menu?

  4. Hi Sandie - your auto-correct messed up. I think you meant to say' date=' "Is there a reason you can't walk all the way back to your cabin to change the diaper? Perhaps there is a better alternative, my fine fellow cruisecritic member?"

The best thing for all involved (baby, parent, fellow passengers) is to not transport a crying baby with a poopy diaper through public areas, onto the elevator, past passenger cabins. The best thing is to handle as quickly and discretely as possible. That's what a thoughtful parent does. Thank you thoughtful parent![/quote']

You, my friend, are awesome. #lifegoals

  5. We cruised with friends and their 1-year-old (plus 5 other kids age 7-11) last summer on Royal Caribbean. Before the cruise we had requested from dining services that we have a table in a corner. That way, when the little one got fussy near the end of dinner, we could let him out of the high chair to crawl around without disturbing other diners.

The first night my friend asked for a plate of fruit for the baby, and after that the dining staff had it waiting when we arrived at the table. That way he could start eating while we ordered.

We spent much of our port time at a beach or walking around town. The little one was strapped in a carrier or in a stroller. He napped well - in the carrier, cuddled on dad's chest on a shady lounge chair near the pool, cuddled on mom at the beach, cuddled on me at the end of dinner, etc.

My friends did bring a car seat with them for the taxi ride to one of our excursions...but they had to wait for a taxi with seatbelts.

It sounds like you are going on Disney? I did that with a toddler, and I was happy to find out that they streamed the shows live on tv. When my kid was sleeping, I could pull the curtain shut and watch the show. Not quite as exciting as being in the theater, but I got to see it!

I think cruising with littles is probably the easiest way to have a relaxing family vacation.

Question.... what did your friends do with the car seat while at the excursion? I'm trying to decide what to do for our cruise in August with a 11 month old. Thinking of an excursion to a resort. Wondering if the resort would hold our car seat or something.
