  1. We arrived in NYC today for a Canada & New England cruise leaving tomorrow. Nowhere in our Princess information can I find what pier we need to go to. Unable to login to their website. It keeps saying try again later. I'm debating about calling but I know that Princess reps don't always know the right answer. Does anyone know what pier we need to go to?

  2. We are interested in booking:

La Guardia (LGA) Airport Transfer With Manhattan Highlights

6.5 hours | New York City (Manhattan or Brooklyn) | NYC-202

The tour details says you must have a flight leaving after 5 pm. Our flight leaves AT 5 pm. Do you think that will work? I know the tour details also say it arrives at the airport around 3 pm. Does that give us enough time to get through security and to the gate?

  3. Walgreens offers the following rapid test:

    Rapid NAAT Test

    • Results available within 2 hours
    • Meets most pre-travel testing requirements; check with your destination to verify

Is this what we need to have?

Their website also offers the following, but then says there isn't a location within 100 miles that has it:

    Rapid Antigen Test

    • Results available with 2 hours
    • Check with your destination to verify that this test meets pre-travel testing requirements

If you’re updating personal information or documents, I’d go to the website, cruise personalizer under checkin-use the website version. Travel documents

delete the old passport. You can update all the information there and it will filter into the App.  Or, delete it and go to the App and add your new one.

I tried that 3 times. Their website either no longer has a place for that or it's not working.

  5. Has anyone ever been able to update their passport information on the Medallion app? I've spent the last 2 hours trying over and over and over and over to update my expired passport information. The app just keeps crashing over and over and over and over. I've scanned my passport with the app and then it doesn't save it. I've tried manually entering the new information and it crashes before I can complete it.

There is no longer a way to input this information on the Princess website like there used to be. I would assume that the "green" line at cruise check-in is mostly empty since no one can actually enter the necessary information using the app.

  6. We had an Alaska cruisetour booked for June 2021 and pushed it to June 2022 due to Covid.

Several months ago we decided to push it once again to July 2023 because we're hoping the world will be more normal then. We feel safe now, but didn't want to deal with stressed out travelers harshing our mellow. ☺️

  7. Twice now, we have cancelled an Alaska cruisetour and pushed it back a year thanks to the pandemic. Both of those bookings included free drinks, wifi, gratuities, a specialty dinner, and a location upgrade. Now it appears they only offer the last two, neither of which we care about. Does anyone think they will be offering the other perks at a later time?

    Thanks!

  8. Has anyone figured out what web browser Princess wants people to use?

I have repeatedly had issues either logging in, accessing our booking, or attempting to accomplish various tasks like booking excursions or flights. Sometimes Chrome works for one task but won't for another. Sometimes Firefox works for one thing but not another. Yesterday our flights to Alaska changed drastically and our new arrival time became 1 am the following day, which is unacceptable.

I went in today and was able to change our flights, select seats, confirm that the the price increased between the time I started selecting flights and the time I booked the flights (apparently 3 or 4 minutes is too slow to pick flights and get the original price). I confirmed our names matched our passports. Then on the final confirmation, Chrome got stuck in a loop and kept reloading the confirmation page over and over. So everything I selected was lost and I'm back to the original flights with the new screwed-up times.

I've tried using Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Every single one has a problem of one type or another with the Princess website. I'm now waiting for Princess Reservations to open so that I can sit on hold for 45 minutes and book flights with a human being.

What web browser does Princess want people to use? Or is their site just a total piece of crap?

The whole experience. As several posters have already said, just getting to the pier and seeing the ship waiting for you is always a big thrill.

    Others:

    • Walking onboard and taking that last step inside the ship from the gangway.
    • Being greeted by the staff and recognizing a crew member from a previous cruise.
    • The first steps onto the balcony and imaging the sites you will see from here.
    • The sail-away!
    • Making new friends - with crew and fellow passengers alike!
    • Sea days!
    • The first cocktail!
    • Meeting the waiters on the first night.
    • Everything!

Guess I'm not the only one who thinks about taking that single step from the end of the gangway onto the deck of the ship, LOL. During every freezing-cold dog walk this winter I have fantasized about taking that single step, and looking forward to the next time it happens.

Then I think about that first drink, usually at sail-away. Probably the most exciting time, knowing that your whole vacation is ahead of you.

I also love being able to walk around the buffet and decide what I feel like eating based on what looks good at the time. I hate thinking about what food I want to eat next week when I'm making out my grocery list, LOL. I love not having to think about food, and just being able to walk around, look at food that someone else has prepared, and just seeing what looks good at the time.

  10. 19 days for us, Sydney to Singapore. Originally booked for my 50th birthday and ended up becoming our honeymoon as well.

I received the World Cruise email 2 days ago and I see the full suites are already sold out. I was just curious as to the price for a suite on a 111 day cruise. I love the itinerary for the cruise and would totally do it if I was rich. My husband hates any vacation longer than a week or two. He barely survived the 19 days, LOL.

I saw in this discussion a few people who have done world cruises. For those of you who have, were you ready to get away from ship life by the end or were you still loving every minute?

  11. Hello Cruisers,

I'm in the process of booking a cruise on the Sapphire, and we will be traveling with relatives who will be staying in one of the aft suites on Caribe deck. We always book an inside. We have sailed many of the Grand-class ships and once enjoyed one of the inside cabins on the Aloha deck just steps away from the aft terrace.

I'm trying to remember if there is a passenger stairwell on the stern that would provide an easy path between those cabins (A740 & C752). I'm thinking the only stairs near there are for crew only. Is that correct?

    Thanks for your help!

I've never notice any difference which side of the medallion is placed against the reader. I carry mine loose without any holder and it seems to work no matter which side is placed on the sensor.

Perhaps I just use always use the correct side?

Sorry, I was referring to use when it's inside the Princess card holder. If it's in the holder and you attempt scan it while the holder is folded in half, you obviously want to make sure you're holding the thinnest part towards the scanner. I was not referring to simply scanning the medallion by itself. Sorry for any confusion.

  13. Lucky TGO,

I also carry my Medallion in the Princess card holder. It's convenient, and you can keep your photo ID in the other side with a few bills and that's all you need to carry on excursions. You can use the Medallion without removing it from the holder. Just make sure you hold the correct side of the holder against the Medallion sensor when using it.

  14. Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen the Conservatory roof opened? I did a search and couldn't find anything. The roof appears to be retractable but I've never heard of anyone who has seen it open on any of the ships with a Conservatory.

  15. We are booked to do an Alaska cruise tour next year. I submitted a referral for my brother's family. Since that time, we have all booked a cruise tour for June 2021. When I login to Princess and view on board credits, it shows:

Referral Reward for (my sister-in-law's name)    Earned:

04/25/19    Sail By 04/24/23     Status: Pending Booking

       Amount: $25.00 (USD)

Since we have both booked the cruise tour and we both have confirmation numbers, why does the status show "Pending Booking" ?
