im going to book a GTY inside (IX) for $500/person for an 11day cruise next month but am looking for a cheap balcony upgrade.
can anyone with a confirmed reservation bid?
or is it by invite? if so, how does NCL select who to give these bidding invites to?
My upgrade was just accepted from inside to balcony. I received an email saying the bidding was open and when I logged on to ncl.com it was one of the banners.

Even though I'm a grown woman, I plan to check in with my family throughout the cruise because they are prone to paranoia and will assume something terrible has happened if they don't hear from me. Lol

Thanks all. Were on the Epic out of Port Canaveral. I don't really plan on doing anything that morning so I would rather risk waiting a little in line than being bored in my hotel room. Can't wait!!

I think maybe you should call NCL to verify. I know with the drink package you get drinks up to $15/each so if you choose something more expensive you are responsible for the difference. Maybe it's something like that.

I'm going on my 1st cruise in December!! I'm so excited and eager to get vacay started so I'm thinking about boarding as early as possible. Ncl's website lets you select your boarding time when you check-in online. Is there any downside to getting on the ship asap? I realize my room won't be ready but I'll bring a carry on with essentials.

I saw a video on YouTube showing that the balcony on 10000 had a small door to access the front of the ship. Does anyone know how many of cabins are like this? Would 10001 be the same?

When we first booked there were 3 of us so we chose a family inside cabin. One person dropped out so it will just be 2 of us. Are these "family areas" noisy? Wondering if we should move to another inside cabin.
