  1. I have been so hesitant to even type cruisecritic within my search bar as so much has been cancelled with ensuring disappointment over the past almost two years. Still, we offered up our final payment for a March 7th sailing (one of a few “back up” voyages) and I cautiously, optimistically let my fingers glide across Boards. I found our small Roll Call and began to toy with the idea that this will truly be a go. I just finished your always entertaining and informative piece. I am truly grateful…moving into giddy. I have only sailed S Class and will be on the Millie for the first time in March. Thank you, sincerely for breathing life into and returning my sense of awe and anticipation back to where they belong.

  2. In the past and on other Celebrity ships, we were treated to exceptional guest speakers on the multiple sea days. Some folks are apprehensive about the volume of non port days, but I never got bored. My last TA included the prior 13 day sailing. Fellow passengers asked if I was ready to disembark after 27 days onboard. I assured them that I would still be dragging my feet down the gangway.

VCE is chaos !  Lines and lines of people that don't seem to move.

When I had a noon flight to JFK, we arrived around 9:30am.  IBy the time we got to our gate, we only had 10-15 minutes before they started boarding.  Even when  was flying within Europe I would arrive 2 1/2 hr prior.

I'd rather be sitting at the gate waiting than stressing in a security line.

It's a 20 minute ride to the airport, so for a 12:30pm flight, i'd leave the pier at 9:30am.

I agree. I love Venice, but hate flying out of there. I would leave even sooner than 9:30.

  4. Porto Venere is my favorite place on the planet. I have a large framed photo that I took a few years back hanging on the wall near my bed. It’s the last thing and the first that I see each day. You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Enjoy.

  5. My favorite “lunch” in Venice includes visiting several baccaros for small glasses of local wine and a variety of chicceti (Venetian tapas). Stay away from the tourist zones, meander a few streets off the beaten path to enjoy the authentic experience.

She is my favorite city in the world.

  6. We are four friends sailing  together upon the Reflection in October, 2021. We are planning to spend four nights prior in Rome. I have stayed in area hotels in the past, but am looking at AirBnB. It’s a bit overwhelming. We don’t mind sharing a bedroom, if need be, but definitely need separate beds. Any personal recommendations (I have read many reviews of several properties), centrally located, not too loud, etc...?

    Thank you

  7. Hello,

When can I expect the Autumn 2021 itineraries to be released? I did a mock booking on the Equinox before disembarking in September with the intention of changing when the 2021 Med and Transatlantics are released. Anxious to claim my space and begin another countdown.

    Thank you!

  8. Thank you so much for your insightful musings. It’s been four and a half years since I’ve sailed with the Equinox (I have eight weeks logged before the hiatus). Your review has whet my appetite for her September 13th voyage. Back in the day, we were given three vouchers (as Elites) for cocktail hour to be enjoyed in various lounges, is that still the case?
