  1. Ovation is taking over the Trans Pacific sailings from the Explorer that sailed Seattle to Sydney south bound and returned after the Australian season Sydney to Seattle.

Now it will take a B2B2B booking to do the same trip, however because of the totally insane and idiotic Jones Act (US the only country in the world that wont allow passengers to embark and disembark at a different port within the US) the ship must go to Canada first before going to Seattle.

  2. To each his/her own, I would never lower my standers eating in the WJ especially seeing a guy exit the bathroom from doing a number two a walked out and into the WJ no washy washy picking up the serving utensils, and on another occasion seeing a lady reach over the food dragging her dirty sleeves over the food YUCK BIG TIME!!! MDR Always I paid good money for my cruise and like being served my meals at my table. 29 days on the Explorer last year and on the Navigator in seven weeks time.

  3. I did the Sydney to Seattle some time ago and yes it is sad to see it go. While I loved the ship and the cruise (and any cruise is a good cruise) you can still do Sydney to Hawaii and Hawaii to Vancouver, on Radiance or Ovation. Also, the ports were not so great on the one Transpacific but it was probably at a cheaper price. I heard people from the US saying they did not think much of the small Pacific Islands and they are possibly right. They islanders are not wealthy by a long shot.

Doing the back to back cruise, one does the islands of Tahiti, which I prefer over Fiji etc. The ship also stops on the 4 big islands of Hawaii. Another good thing is that once the ship arrives in Vancouver, it goes on to do Alaska. Now that is a good b2b2b2b.

Yes you are correct but it comes with huge hike in cost, when the ships are relocating back to Australia through Hawaii I wonder the leg Seattle to Hawaii how will they get around the very stupid Jones Act? probably have to go back up to Canada before heading west.
  4. It is so sad that this year will be the end of the direct one voyage sailings Seattle to Sydney.

  5. The beer card on Adventure was $49 for 10 beers, all beers included except for 750 Chimay Blue.
i was on the Explorer TP last year and the beer card was for draught beer only, but when they ran out of Newcastle Brown they did offer it in a bottle.
  6. Last year on the Explorer in Seattle B2B with a TP the second leg they set up a scanner at the entrance of the Star Lounge we all scanned off the ship sat in the lounge was given out new cards drank tea or coffee with finger food when the ship has a zero count we all walked back through the entrance and scanned back on board and went to MDR for a yummy lunch with a free YES free glass of wine.

  7. Hello, all

Does anyone have any feedback on the Panoramic Oceanview cabins on deck 12 of Navigator? We snagged 1802...the one looking directly out over the bow for our Baltic cruise in June.

Seems like a very quiet area, being behind the spa and all. Anyone stayed in them? Love to hear your experiences.

    Steve
