With a reservation, show up 20 minutes early. Skip Windjammer for lunch on embarkation day and go to central park cafe. Book the Aqua show early in your week, it gets canceled for bad weather and you might not get rescheduled if you're seeing it at the end of the week. In case you don't know, Johnny Rockets is no charge for breakfast before 11. If your going to buy a photo do it on the next to last night. Great salad bar in MDR for sea day lunches, also has small buffet and off the menu items.

I also said I would never sail on a ship that large, but we were on the Allure two years ago and loved it. So much so that we will be on her again in a week and a half. The only time you can tell there are a lot of people on board is at embarkation, during parades on the promenade, and on sea days around the pools. But even then, it is very manageable. To watch the parades out of the crowd, just go one deck up and watch from the Schooner Bar area. The ship's layout makes it very easy to find your way around. We also thought that the crew was fantastic, just as friendly and helpful as on the smaller ships. I think the Allure is amazing!!!

i totally agree. only packed on pool deck during sea days but other then that lots of atmosphere and u cant reproduce that on small ship.

For those who have done MTD, what are my odds to have the same waitstaff the whole time? That's one of our favorite parts of a cruise!

i went with a group of 8 and set up my time res for every night like 11 months out. we got same wait staff every night.

i have cruise planner up now for my july 21st 2019 sailing and it has zip line water park full day at $119. just zip line at $80 and full day water park at $99 also. called Royal and they said water park gains admission to all water slides and wave pool.

No, reservation opening for MTD is independent of online check-in.

and is normally in cruise planner before then.

thats the same pricing i found on my cruise planner for Harmony of the seas in July 2019. Just wondering how many tix they will sell for water park if i should buy right away or if they will sell like 4000. bc too many people waiting for water slides dosent sound like a Perfect day to me.

yes fall of 2019. but if u read all the press releases the project will be out in phases. phase 1 dock and surrounding area. phase 2 is the water park and things like that in those areas (spring 2019 ) and phase 3 (fall 2019) is rest areas and beach club and high end villas. i am going in July 2019 on Harmony and looks like i will and could be some of first cruisers to see the area. but agree with benclan it will be a construction zone in a lot of areas

Depends on how many photos u really want. as most photo ops are staged lik in front of ship at each port and on nights in front of stairs and pretty objects. i can only have so many pics os staged events. i like more natural poses.

We were on Allure a few years ago and I don't recall being that uncomfortable. Most hallways and especially the elevators were just downright sweltering.

 

 

 

Oh, also sone thing I forgot to mention was the elevators... the forward elevators were noticeably less crowded. The aft elevators were crazy all the time.

i agree with the elevators. this was my experience as well. front elevators much less busy. less in frontt of ship.

Hey Mike,that was a fantastic review, nice to hear there are others who are just as positive about cruising as we are.we will be sailing on Allure in August for the second time.Fun and joy is a matter of rolling with the punches and moving on. Ditto on all your comments.

Great review and advice. I too over plan and like that the ship is big enough to offer more if a curve ball is thrown. Allure in August here I come.
