  1. As I understand it now, the only restaurants (on the Oasis at least) that the $15 FNDR apply to are Giovanni's and Sabor.

I was told (by RCI Crown & Anchor) I can change to Chops or 150, but would only be entitled to 50% off the normal rate.

They will credit the $15 PP charge to our account and then charge the 50% off rate depending on the restaurant chosen.

We were very lucky on our March 2017 Oasis cruise where our FNDR dinner which we changed the resy to 150 was kept at the $15 FNDR rate.

Just got off Oasis today and what you said about the up charge for Chops and 150 is true. We chose to eat a Giovanni's and ordered the filet steak and it was just as tender or even better than what we have had at Chops.

  2. Here's a question!

Does anyone know the facts of the rules on the drink cards? Meaning, can one buy a drink card on one ship/cruise and then use it on another cruise later?

When you purchase the card they write a number on the back of the card. This number is put into the cash register when you order a drink. That is probably why you can't use it on other sailings.

  3. Just got off the Oct. 1st sailing on Oasis today. We bought the drink card on day 4. 18% was added to the asking price of $79. We asked the bartender at the Trellis bar what would happen if we wanted a $15 drink and he said to just ask the bartender to put a cheaper brand alcohol in the drink. We tried doing just that at Boleros and it worked.

  4. HELLO,

We always dine at the specialty restaurants nightly but its been years that we actually went to the MDR even for one dinner....I usually purchase individual reservations so that I am able to choose my day and time immediately before going on the cruise, but since I already did that on the Harmony this past May, I purchased the 7 night dining package, only now, I am having some reservations:

I am thinking of eating in the MDR nightly, my other half doesn't mind either way and I don't which means we need you to make up our minds lol. His concern is from our past experience years ago of eating in the MDR was to eat with other people and trust me, many times it was not comfortable or pleasant...either the stablemates were to themselves lets say and not sociable, or children were present that were not behaved all the way down to sitting at a table that nobody spoke english but us...not pleasant so he is afraid that we have to dine with other people at the table.

If we do this, we want to have a table of two, are there many tables for two or is it difficult to get? How is the wait, we generally like dinner at 8pm and will have My Time/Anytime dining...if we have a wait, generally how long on an average would the wait be? Do you feel we will end up at a table with other people, need your advice, because the only thing holding us up from eating dinner in the MDR is sitting at a table with other people. Trust me, we are far beyond to ourselves, we love to meet people but we also want a nice pleasant dining experience so its best we eat by ourselves.

    Need your feedback PLEASE!

You could eat in the Solarium Bistro. You will have a table for two and it is quieter than the MDR. The food is very good and so is the service. Best of all it's complimentary.

  5. Can the free lunch if you have a boardwalk balcony be used at Giovanni's or sabor or is it only good at JR?

If you book a central park balcony you get a lunch at Giovanni's and a bottle of red wine and gambling lessons.

This is all correct. Plus you get a private lesson on the rock climbing wall for 4.

  6. Loved your review. My husband and I also live close to the port (Melbourne) and cruise Oasis often. Our daughter drops us off at the port so we don't have to pay to park. We are diamond and we really like the complimentary drinks. I also like to get cans of soft drinks to put in the refrig. to use during the day. Thanks for the info about being able to use the 3 drinks on the sea pass in the MDR and specialty restaurants. Oasis is a big ship but I have never felt like I was crowded. There is always something going on for entertainment so it spreads everybody out to do different things.

  7. We had a central park balcony on Oasis on our May 7th cruise. We were on the 14th floor. Enjoyed it especially in the evenings. Sat on the balcony with drinks and listened to the violin music. We usually get an oceanview balcony on our cruises and probably will again. This was a nice change and the perks are nice.
