Pretty simple, would you want to sell a room that fits 4 to only 2 people?  It doesn't make financial sense because there are always people looking for 4 person cabins.

Well. The corner front Excell suites hold 4. And they are available for the 2 of us.  So what's the difference? Maybe the midship ones are just more desirable.

You can check regularly yourself by doing a mock booking. First put in 4 people just to make sure that the cabin you want hasn't been booked by a party of 4. If it shows available then do a mock booking for 2 people. If that cabin shows up as available then call Carnival ASAP to upgrade to it. It's not at all unusual for Carnival to open up cabins that hold  3 or 4 to smaller parties as the cruise gets closer.

I do that every day. Lol. I was originally going to upgrade to an aft Corner excel suite. Was available an hour before I got off work. I called right when I got off and someone swooped it up. Right now there is 5 front excel corner suites. I'll take one of those if I can't get that one I want

  3. There is still a lot of rooms left on our Mardi Gras cruise leaving in 58 days. I wanted to upgrade to a Excel Suite from an aft extended balcony.. There is 2 of us. One of the suites is available if I put in 4 guests instead of 2. I called and offered to pay the difference. They said not at this time. ??? What?

There are a bunch of front corner excel suites left for 2 people. But the one I want is on the side, so less windy.

Anyone know why they would say no? They could rebook my room in a heartbeat.

  4. right now we are booked in a extended aft balcony 9505. We were upgrading to a excel corner aft suite. an hour before we booked someone swooped it up. Seems the aft location is close to the main dining room and other things. The front suites seem really far. I was looking at Havana suites too. Suprising amout of rooms left for a cruise leaving in 2 months. especially on spring break. As mush as i'd love a suite it seems the aft extended balcony looks the best

Deck 11 would be preferable along the sides of the ship but I do not know about the front.  On the sides, balconies on 11 can look right down into those on lower decks while Deck 12 balconies do not overlook those on Deck 11.  As I said, I do not know if this holds true with a front suite.

Thanks. Been a rough day. Was about to upgrade to an aft Excel corner suite and it got booked an hour before i did it. I have an aft extended balcony ATM. But really want the Excel perks. Leaning towards the excel front corner suite. So over priced i think.Just want to not be far from everything.  Heck even ocean suites have priority boarding.

  6. Upgrading from an aft room to a front excel suite. With the main dining room in the back, is it a pain to have to walk there everyday? I love the Alchemy bar too. Do we have to cut through the casino? It's been 6 years since my last cruise on the Breeze. With this bigger ship maybe I should try somewhere in the middle. Ocean or Havana suite maybe?

  7. Ya. I called Carnival directly to see if it was. It wasn't. I tried to ask if it was just on hold. She couldn't tell.  I checked at noon yesterday and it was available.  Then by 3 it was gone. Gonna check later today again. I've thought about even doing a ocean suite or harber. But I really like the perks of Xcel

  8. Really bummed right now. We are booked in room 9505, aft extended balcony.  Was gonna bite the bullet and upgrade to a Excel corner aft suite. We leave in 71 days and one was still available. After talking about it for an hour, we logged back in and it was gone. Ugh! Was thinking about a forward Excel suite but it seems so far from everything.  Plus the wind factor and skinny balcony that you can't see through stinks.

We want the Excel perks but the aft location just seems more convenient.

I'm going to wait 24 hous and see if the person that swooped my corner aft suite just put it on hold and it gets put back(wishful thinking).

Anyone think it's worth it to upgrade my room to front corner Excel suite!

  9. Thanks for the reply! Im doing the same intenary you are in october. I was REALLY looking forward to Jamaica at first but i've been reading up on it quite a bit and most people say they feel extremely unsafe there. Some people say to relax and it's just the culture over there and most of the violence is gang related and others saying that you're basically playing russian roulette there and tourists are getting robbed and raped and even killed. I'm sure it's not a hellhole but it doesnt sound awesome either. We are planning on going to doctors cove beach but I just dont know now. We are definitely going to spend most of our time and money in the caymans, I've already have a tour set up for the reef and stingray sandbar and I would honestly just stay on the boat in jamaica and go to a nicer beach in cozumel but ive been to cozumel so many times I want to do something different.

My advice.... When traveling to Jamaica on a cruise.... I'd only book through your cruise company. No disrespect to Errol. But we felt more safe and had more fun in the Caymen Islands and Cozumel.

  10. Damn dude, did you die in Jamaica?! I must know! Lol

Lol. Sorry. Been so busy since I've been back. Our cruise was great. Jamaica was my least favorite. Errol our guide was a nice guy. Very informative the first few hours. Konoko falls was really nice. We were the only ones there. Had the whole place to ourselves. But I think the 2 hour drive there and back was a little much. We only stopped at Scotchies for lunch. Was so packed. Glad Errol new the people who worked there or we would have waited 2 hours to eat. Jamaica is still the same. People begging were ever you go. I bought some things from people on the side of the road. But so many rude responses when you don't buy. Like "why you gonna do me likethat?"). When you stop it's like people every where areally trying to open the tour vans windows just to get in to sell you stuff. Grand Caymen was beautiful. Sting ray tour is a must. The turtle farm was a joke though. Only get 1.5 hours to see something that needs 5 hours time.Definitely the highlight of our trip. Cozumel was good. Twister boat was awesome.

That was my second and last time to Jamaica. My least favorite island in the Caribbean. And I've been to over 15 islands.

Want to take another cruise next December. Might go more south next time.

  11. i did cheers last week on the Breeze. Great deal. Lived at Alchemy and Iguana tequila pool bar.

I would highly suggest rum runner flasks. We brought 6 large flasks and rolled them up in our clothes. No problem at all. We brought them for the first night cause cheers wasn't included outta Texas. Next time I'll prob pass on cheers.

  12. Just got off the Breeze. My first cruise in 12 years. It was pretty good. Schwartz the cruise director was out of this world amazing. Food and service was average at best. I tipped 2 to 5 bucks for every drink mostly always at the tequila pool bar and alchemy. Never much thanks or recognizing my name. I'm gonna post a whole review. How do I post my pics?

  13. I bought cheers. Just planning on packing a few drinks before we roll. Who cares. If we get caught we get caught. Who cares. Stupid Texas laws won't let you have a drink. We will see what happens good night guys. Vaca starts now!

  14. That's gonna be a long limo ride......[emoji12][emoji3][emoji924]. Enjoy, you'll have a great time

45 min limo ride. Lol. Can't get on a plane without a couple drinks. You all gotta teach me how to post pics when I get back. Was trying to figure it out days ago.

  15. Limo picks us up tomorrow morning here in Denver for our Carnival Breeze cruise Sunday!

Just want to say thanks to everyone here for all your help and advice. It's been about 12 years since my last cruise. First for my daughters'. We are so excited. Can't wait to tell you all about it when we get home!
