  1. Hi!

Was wondering about redeeming the Platinum seaday brunch drink perk. Is there a way to get it without actually sitting down for brunch? Like a bar area? (Going on the Conquest FWIW - it's been a while since we ate in MDR) DO you think they would let us redeem it at the dr suess breakfast that morning instead of brunch? Any help is appreciated 🙂

We had, I believe, cabin 2425, family harbor suite on the transatlantic cruise and it was horrible. The noise from above even woke my young son up who can sleep through anything. Guest services went above and beyond though and we moved a few cabins down, the took specialty dining charges off our account and gave us a rather large onboard credit to use.

This. We stayed in a family harbor cove balcony and I honestly couldnt believe the poor ship placement, where they know people with families will be. It woke me up every morning, not so much anyone else in my cabin.

On Monday John Heald said that they are hoping to be back at full staffing levels at the end of this month, does that mean that things such as :

    - Early access to staterooms for cruisers with status is restored?

    - Twice a day stateroom service would be restored?

I have a feeling the above 2 will still be a "no" because Carnival would cite "Covid" reasons.

I could be wrong, but I think twice a day stateroom cleaning went away pre-pandemic. I doubt it's coming back I honestly don't see the need for it, unless you have small children with diapers and need the trash cleared or something like that. But when you go to a hotel, you only get your room cleaned once a day. Not a big deal (to me)

  4. We went in March, and some nights they are not offering night owls and are not open past ten. I forgot which nights. Can anyone confirm who has sailed recently? We had booked the teppanyaki one of the nights it closed at 10 and had to leave mid dinner to pick up my son and have him finish dinner with us. Trying to avoid the same thing for our July cruise.

  5. We have been on elite cruises both pre and post pandemic. I will say post pandemic, the elite events are seriously lacking. Pre covid, there was usually 2-3 elite only events per day, where you could win freeplay, gifts, chefs table, etc. You were almost guaranteed to get called for at least one event per cruise. Now, there is one event per night. sometimes only 1-2 people called. It was kind of disappointing, especially when you know what it used to be.

Well, maybe you should see if you can get on Liberty tomorrow from Port Canaveral. It is a 3 day that goes to Bimini.

Your cruise is shortened a day 😞

already did. its completely sold out even thought the website shows availability at first look.

  7. Was supposed to be on Conquest tomorrow. Disappointed is the understatement of the century. Now stuck with no plans for Memorial Day and whatever is left or available is $$$$. Just glad I'm a local so not a huge inconvenience, but imagine the people who are flying, driving, already in hotels for their cruise tomorrow. What a mess..

HI! I'm hoping that someone can tell me what day the Dr. Suess Breakfast may be on the Carnival Breeze?  I read somewhere that it's usually the "last Sea Day"  and checking to see if someone may know if that is correct?

    Thanks so much!

    Jennifer

I believe that is the case. They usually offer sea day brunch the other days. Be sure to sign up as soon as you can, some voyages do not sell out. But the one time I went on Breeze a few years back, I waited a few days to call and both times we full.

No lobster on elegant night changed several years ago.

The new debarkation process where you select your own luggage tags changed some time last year. I don’t recall exactly when, since they still deliver luggage tags to cabins with priority (we are currently Platinum). Of course any process Carnival uses is going to have problems of people don’t follow it.

Good info on the the roulette wheel.

I thought they made it one night lobster and one night without. It was only a 3 day cruise but I thought for the one elegant night they would have at least one of the more "upscale" options. We've had priority the last few cruises so that's probably why I didn't notice the luggage thing. It just really stood out to me because CD came over speaker multiple times telling people to go.

The picking up your tags is new to Carnival, other cruises do it to too. I noticed on my cruise on the sunrise, there is no crew/staff members acting as crowd control. If there was any kind of crowd control, it will prevent people from gathering in the lobby

It was really bad this time. I'm not sure how you can control people coming from decks they're not supposed to. I mean elevators full of people would come down every few minutes, and only 1 deck was called. We waited an hour in line on the lobby deck trying to get out.

My mom and I booked a 3 night on the Liberty and we got the 4j all the way forward on the lido deck.  It is an interior with a window out to a secret deck.   Have you stayed in one of these cabins?  What has your experience been like?  Do you like this type of cabin????

Just got off the Victory in this exact room and i would book it every time if I could. It was bigger than any other room we've ever had, by far. Way bigger than a standard interior. I loved the natural light it brought so we didn't sleep too long.

Any more tips?  Taking grandkids on this next week?  How crowded was the buffet? What did you do in Cozumel?

I never found the buffet to be too crowded, except the omelette station in the morning and right around boarding time after port day. As for your grand kids, my son loved the camp at night. The counselors were really great. Not sure how old your grandkids are, but there's two pools on lido (one by the slide). My son loves music so he enjoyed listening to the karoake.

Our trip didn't stop at Cozumel, but when we've gone in the past we usually go to an all inclusive. Theres a few but I know some sell out. Try looking in the Cozumel board - there's usually good recommendations!

  12. Hi All! We just got home off the Victory and had a great sailing. Just wanted to point out some changes I noticed. I'm in no way complaining, just providing some info:

    1. We did not get a coupon for our free drink for being Gold. We did get the paper welcoming us with the pin and our water and listing our benefits, but the usual coupon was not on the bottom. I thought maybe they had streamlined the process and would give a credit to our S&S or maybe give it the last day, but no. Don't know if this was a fluke or pilot for some VIFP changes, but just saying.

    2. I can confirm that there is now a 3rd green spot "B" on the roulette wheel. I had seen a thread a few weeks back asking. We were on the Magic in March and this was definitely not there, so maybe they're rolling it out slowly.

    3. Elegant night didn't have lobster or filet as an option. Mind you this was a 3 day cruise and we don't usually eat in the dining room so this may just be news to me. I happened to check the menu and notice - I thought one of these was offered at elegant night.

    4. Disembarkation process has changed slightly. Our CD really stressed people check out the disembark show to get the details. Basically they don't deliver your luggage tags to your room anymore. You have to go pick them up and select either early or late disembark. Our debark was a nightmare. I don't think it was the new/old process, just people in general going to the lobby at whatever time instead of when called. I've noticed the past few times this has gotten progressively worse. Not sure what Carnival can do to improve that.

Sr Frog's will probably have it on.  Course the rowdies will be packing the place.  Might also give the Green Parrot or the Bearded Clam a try.  Both along the main drag near the cruise pier.  Bearded Clam is a sister bar to Wet Lizard in Belize.

I've never heard of either of those but will look out for them! thank you!

Probably in the Skybox Sports Bar.  It's on Fox and that's not in the stateroom channel lineup.

Also it's on at 11AM Eastern, so doubting it'll be on the Lido.

Idk it's a Nassau Port day, and they usually don't have anything else better to play on the screen so maybe? lol

  15. I never set much store by the CD either, until we had Mike Pack on the Horizon. I can honestly say I don't think some of the activities would be as fun without him. The 80s and 90s music trivia in the atrium was SO FUN. Like previous people have said, if you do activities around the ship - they make a difference. If you kind of stick to yourself, then you probably won't even know what you're missing.
