  1. Stew, Liver and Sausages are commonly considered budget meals in the UK. Are they really trying to sell themselves as a luxury line with these offerings.

Plus one. I'm Irish, and I'll be more than annoyed if I'm presented with "Irish stew" on Silhouette in July.

  2. Hi. Dublin resident here.

The airport Clayton is quite a distance from the port, and a little bit off public transport routes. Unless the hotel themselves run a shuttle service to the port (and I'd doubt they do) public transport options aren't great from that location.

A taxi through the port tunnel should be around €30 so long as it's after 10am (add €7 for toll at rush hour to discourage commuters).

I think the only cheaper option might be hotel shuttle back to the airport (around 10 minutes) then 747 bus to "The Point", which will leave you about a 10 minute walk from the port for €7 each.

With bags, I think paying extra for a taxi might be the better option.

Maybe contact the hotel and see if there's some option that I'm not aware of?

  3. Was that $108 per person or per couple ? And did you do this when you first got on the ship or before on the website ?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

My understanding (based on devouring the contents of this site for the past few weeks) is that it is $108 per person for three meals in your choice of speciality restaurants (doesn't include Blu). i.e. for two people to dine in Murano, Tuscan Grill and Qsine it will cost $216.

I've read that you can eat in the same restaurant more than once if you choose. I'm not sure whether the deal can be applied to Sushi on Five.

I'm pretty sure this deal is always available. i.e. You can buy before you board, or on board.

I think the main benifit of buying early is that it should be easier to reserve the time you want in the restaurant you want.

  4. Thanks for your advice (also sorry for hijacking your great thread Pabellamy).

I think we'll see how the main dining room goes for the first night or two, and then we might splash out on the three speciality restaurants for ~$100 per person. (I think the regular price, which is often dicounted, is ~$50 per person, per restaurant, which would explain the price of the Tuscan Grill).

I like the sound of Murano and TG. Sushi on Five looks great too, but I think that's fully a la carte so not includede in speciality packages.

  5. Thanks for all the info. My wife to be and I will be taking our first cruise on Reflection on July 21st so this is all very helpful. (I think I might actually be spoiling the experience a little, but I can't stop).

We were thinking of splashing out for speciality dining on a few nights. In researching what nights we might go for that I'd read somewhere that the menu is little nicer in the MDR on formal nights (rack of lamb, lobster, etc.), but the menu you've posted above looks similar to other nights.

Does anyone know whether it's just the luck of the draw, or are there nights we should definitely stick with the MDR? Would they perhaps let us see the menus in advance if we ask?

I know they offer discounts on speciality dining on the first night, but I think we'll probably go to Opus that night just to get the lay of the land.

On an entirely different note, does anyone know what the entry fee to the poker tournaments are? I'm not going to spend my honeymoon playing poker, but one game on a see day might be okay :)
