  1. ooking for heavyly discounted last minute cruises. Not just promotions that many times end up at similar prices as past promos.

Any cruise lines are helpful. NY, NJ Boston particularly helpful. Not interested in inside rooms.

We are travelers usually booking far in advance during wave season.

     Thank you all in advance.......

Sometimes Roll Calls are sleepy! But that is still where you look for people on your ship...

Assume no meet and Great for getting on Feb. 14... Seem you all have been on before the `14th. Traveling with two couple whom never traveled before.

Given that on most ships - including Celebrity - the buffet is at the complete opposite end of the ship than the MDR (not to mention deck!), I don't know of any that would allow an MDR server to take time away from their other guests to go and get a "fruit pair" (whatever that is) from the buffet. That is FAR from "reasonable" service.

Honestly it sounds like a private yacht might be more your speed if that is the kind of service you expect.

Princess and HAL did it without asking for it to be done.  Last email since we have different expectation n cruising.

Yes, it's old and yes, it could use a refreshing but everything works and the staff is excellent. What exactly are you concerned about?

We are well traveled but expect reasonable service. When a suituation occures do they work at corrrecting. If we want say a fruit pair that is at the buffet but not on the breakfast menu,,,will they go out of their way.

Not afraid of an old ship but some critics say it is "OLD".   Anyoine travel in 2923 on the Infinity and can let me know it condition and staff.

Not as much as you might think.  In our case as it was a repositioning cruise, the net fare was very attractive (most repo's are) and similar - or less than - to what a more typical 7-night closed loop itinerary would be expected to be.  At the time the airfare from the east coast to Hawaii and returning from Vancouver was also reasonable.  The stay in Hawaii was the more expensive portion of the trip but that would be somewhat expected and separate from the cruise anyway.

We have a similar trip planned for Italy in 2023, with a 15-night repositioning cruise back from Rome to Port Everglades with several European and Bermuda stops en route.  The pricing for the cruise is very attractive.

I took the repositioning from Rome a few years ago....    Great trip just note the docks are far from the city of Rome. Get room center of ship.

Because of PVSA limitations there are probably no options for one way sailings from mainland US to Hawaii;  but you could consider something like the Majestic Princess’s Pacific crossing sailing from Vancouver, BC Sept. 20 and stopping at Oahu on Sept. 29 .  You most likely would have to pay full fare for the crossing and arrange for early debarkation with the cruise line.

    Thanks interesting idea.....

  9. I travel river, ocean and land tours in Europe, etc. Mostly Holland America, Overseas Adventure, GCT and Princess paying in the middle group. Going to Antarctica I need some advice whom I should use for a trip of around 14 days and what time of the year is good to travel.

We traditionally travel a little off season which helps in the cost.

Thank you everyone in advance for any suggestion.

The things we do and see are more important that the room.

    1. Use a travel agent who kicks back some money in the form of on-board credit.

    2. Get a Target red card (there's a debit option that links to your checking account).  Use it to buy Disney gift cards with the 5% Red Card discount.  Use those cards to pay for your cruise and on-board charges.

    3. Book as early as the particular cruise is available.  There are no deals later on -- prices only go up.

    4. If you love the first one, book the second while on board and you'll get a discount.

    5.  Stay in a less expensive class of room -- interior, small, less costly location.

    6.  Don't drink alcohol while on board.

    7.  Book your own activities in port rather than signing up for the Disney Port Adventures.  I've been looking into activities in Key West for a cruise in March, and the Disney up charge is as much as double.  For example, the conch trolley costs $76 for a parent and child through Disney but $42.48 if we buy direct.  A visit to the butterfly conservatory and aquarium is $118 through Disney but $45.64 if we buy tickets directly.  You pay a lot for the convenience of walking off the ship and following a leader with a big sign to a pre-arranged motor coach.

  11. Thank you so much for taking the time and making everything a lot clearer for some of our concerns, Probably will book in the next few days. The deal is really good and now we can go in with clearer expectations.

The Royal Princess first lunch ran out of fresh fish( unfair) but made us look negatively at other parts such as elevators really slow, couldn't fine our wine bottle, etc.

We do enjoy food and eat at some specialty places. Last question.  What age group would you expect on a cruise this time of the year/ My wife usually spend time gambling and I go to most shows....

I will owe you a drink when we meet.

  12. Major Holland America traveler but took a Royal Princess  when it first was new and found a number of small problems---so went back to Holland America. Looking at Feb 2.  14 day Caribbean on the Princess- deal is good and goes to a few places we haven't been to.

Would appreciate anything about the ship. People and food are important to us. Where it goes is.

secondary and usually go for 10 days. 14 days seem long. Assigned dinned times seem funny.

Any comments I would appreciate. We are a retired couple whom also o river cruises .  Thank you
