Actually, there are cabinets underneath the shelves that are also filled with books. All are hardbacks and seem to be brand new. And you can load up a kindle. I don't think you will be disappointed

We are aboard Encore. Internet is still slow but is an improvement over past years. I believe they changed SatCom suppliers. No lengthy down time. As for TV, we don't watch it. Too busy jumping up and down the bed and chasing each other around the stateroom. [emoji12][emoji485].
Incidentally, I just discovered this venue today and really enjoy it.

We're on our 18th SB cruise. We almost always book a few days at the beginning and sometimes at the end of the cruises. This cruise began in Singapore. We arrived four days early because we love the city. Turned out to be a fortuitous happenstance, as our luggage arrived three days after we did.

We've found TK to be variable. Had the ribs twice. The first time (Quest) they were wonderful, meat fell off the bone. The next time (Encore) they were so over poked that they were literally inedible. Had several other dishes that were marginal. Steak ordered rare that was well done. Best Dover sole I've ever eaten. TK is like a box of chocolates....

We are aboard Encore. There are not enough servers in theColonnade, the Patio and the observation deck. The bartenders are just plain overwhelmed. Where there used to be two, now there's only one.

We are aboard, had sushi the other day. Very nice. Bento boxes at lunch, teriyaki shrimp and chicken. The staff was great. Food was good. Stark surroundings. Dai-jobe desu, neh?

The reason wifi is so bad aboard is that the ship has to use satellite links. The bandwidth is too narrow. That's why the speed is impaired and why busy times are even slower. There isn't much that can be done about it without more and better satellites. In all fairness, the service is much better than it was a few years ago.

Seabourn typically has one formal night per week. For men, a coat and tie or a tux. Those who do not wish to do so can order room service or dine at the Patio Grill.

We are also aboard the Encore. This our 18th cruise on Seabourn and we have three more booked. I can't recall ever having had a problem with housekeeping. I agree with Chairsin that you should ask your housekeeper before going over her head. Seabourn takes their service very seriously

We are aboard theSeabourn Encore. Dinner at the Restaurant is 6:45 to 8:45. Same at the Colonnade. At the Thomas Keller Grill it is 6:00-9:00 (reservations req'd). At the Patio Grill it's 7:30 to 9:00. You can order room service 24/7. This is, I believe, our eighteenth cruise aboard Seabourn. Best friend f the best.
