  1. Not sure about a list, but FTTF= Faster to the Fun.

its a program that carnival has for non diamond/platinum members to board sooner

Thanks for the info! I'll have to go check it out on the Carnival site.

there is a thread on here somewhere that i'm sure someone will post that has ALL the abbreviations. I just saw it a few weeks ago. I'll see if i can find it. i'm sure someone on here knows right were it is though.

    Found it.

Thank you so much for the link! I'm going to "subscribe" to it so I can refer to it later.

And thank you Bradburyesqu for your reply as well. :D

  2. Hi All!

It's been a long time since I've been here. I'm wondering if there is a list of abbreviations and what they mean somewhere. :o I know most of them, but I'm coming across a few that I don't know. One of them is FTTF. Thanks for your help! I'm doing some Cruise-dreaming right now. My dream would be to go on an Alaskan cruise, but really, I'm just craving any cruise right now.

  3. Our first cruise was on Paradise in 2006! The picture in my signature is from that cruise. We fell in love with this ship! One of our favorite things to do was to have breakfast out on the aft deck (I think it was the Lido deck). Our cruise was out of Long Beach, CA to Catalina Island, Ensenada, Mexico and back to Long Beach. It was a 4 day cruise. It was a really nice introduction to cruising. Paradise will always have a special place in our hearts. Our room steward was nice, but not overly so, but our dining steward and his assistant, were FANTASTIC!! :D:D

Our next cruise was on the Conquest out of Galveston, I loved the ship, but missed the outside Aft deck for breakfast that we could do on Paradise. My husband liked the Paradise better than the Conquest, he's not much of a "crowds" kind of person, so the smaller the better to him. Can't wait to hear more about your cruise!

  4. We haven't gone on a cruise since 2007. I need to catch up on all the new things since then. Our last cruise was on the Conquest August 2007. We followed Hurricane Dean around the Gulf. LOL! We still had a blast. :D So thanks for the post, and for all the extra info everyone else posted. I am dreaming of an Alaskan cruise next, but no definites yet.

  5. I'm not overly concerned about this because once I've had a couple of drinks in me, I sleep like a log, But my husband seems a little concerned about it.

Our room is on the Main deck, if you get off the aft elevator, we just walk toward the bow a few doors and there's our room. Anyway, I was looking at deck plans and realized that we are right under the galley. So I'm wondering if anyone had these rooms before and if there was noise?

    Thanks in advance! :)

  6. I wouldn't be the one who did the jinxing. I was working today and one of my patients works for the weather center, she told me that we have a 83% chance of getting a MAJOR hurricane in the gulf, hitting us, this season. Talk about upset. This is our very first cruise and we are all looking forward to. Let's hope the hurricanes go elsewhere. :)

NO!!!!!! Ok..shhhhhhhhhh! Don't tell ANYONE on the roll call about this....LOL! That would SOO suck if that happened during our cruise!

  7. did i once read somewhere on the boards that i could contact carnival and they would send me a release to copy the photos i bought online? anyone have any experience with this?

    thanks

Yes, just email customer service and ask them for a photo release letter. They are pretty good at getting back to you. I did that last year because I wanted to make some copies of some of the pictures for others who were on the cruise with us. Hope this helps.

  8. Just posting my Conquest video montage last August (Click the link below)

Singledad, Thanks so much for sharing your video! We will be going on Conquest in August as well, as you can see in my signature, so it was great to see some photos and stuff from around the same time last year.

I have a question, I noticed that some in your party got their hair braided.....looks like it was in Cozumel? Anyway, can you give me some idea as to how much that cost?

Wow! I can hardly wait to go now!

    Thanks again,

    Diana

  9. Has anybody ever heard of American Transport? I'm not sure where it is based out of, but when I called the hotel that we are staying at in Galveston, they told me about this company. I called them and they charge $25 per person to go from Hobby to our hotel on Seawall in Galveston. And it's the same price from the Cruise terminal to Hobby. For the 4 of us, we found this to be the most economical one we've found.

However, I a little bit nervous about booking with a company I've not heard about, and I can't find it when I google it. I'm hoping SOMEONE here will know it and let me know if this place has a decent reputation or if there seems to be lots of problems with them.

    Thanks,

    Diana

  10. This is our first time on a cruise and on the Conquest! I have a few questions (some may be repeat!) but any help would be appreciated!

    1. We are flying into Houston and taking a Limo company to the Port. It is $210 round trip (2 adults and 2 children) from Bush Airport to the Port. Does this sound right?

cruiser407 - Can I ask you what limo company you are talking about? I'm currently looking at various ways to get from the airport to our hotel in Galveston and then from the port to the airport. Thanks!

    Diana

    Carnival Platinum Question

    http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Articles/concierge_club.aspx

Checking for room number GTY From R&S (Ron and Sue)

The easiest way is to log into the Carnival website and click on modify booking (only for booking with PVP/Carnival only).

If the modify option doesn't work, here is another method. (It's a bit detailed, but it will work)

    1. On the Carnival homepage click 'My Reservation' located on the top of the page.

    2. Use the 'Member log-in' to the right of the page to log-in to your account. This will take you to your reservation.

    3. On the 'My Reservation' page first write down your booking number then click on the 'FunPass - Complete Online' located to the right of the Itinerary (This will take you to the FunPass check in area) Note: Sometimes you will get an error message and you will need to go back to the My Reservation page and click the 'FunPass-Complete Online' a second time. Then it will work.

    4. On the 'FunPass Quick Check in' page you may be required to provide your booking number. You should have it from the My Reservation page.

    5. You should now see a list of guests traveling and be able to complete a FunPass for each person.

    6. Under the list of guests you will see 4 options

Book Shore Excursions Now---------Order Gifts & Services

Carnival Sea Miles MasterCard-----Join Presidential Wine Club

    7. Click on 'Order Gifts and Services'

    8. Select 'Details' of any gift. At the bottom of the page will be your booking number and stateroom number.

Your room number will show up as GUAR until it has been assigned.

Thank you SOO much for posting all this info.....I am looking at booking the Conquest on Aug. 19th of this year. Should be able to book real soon here, so will have fun looking over all these links!

  12. I also forgot that I wanted to include my thanks to PineappleGal for taking the time to post these recipes. I had the strawberry bisque on my cruise and LOVED it! Now I have the recipe. :D I wish I took pictures of the menu for each night because I KNOW there were other dishes I loved that I would like the recipe for, but I can't remember what they were. :(

There was a dessert in the Paris restaurant that I *think* the waiters called Cappuccino Nepoleon....or something like that.....anybody know what I'm talking about? It was to DIE for! It was similar to a tiramsu. Would love to have that recipe.

    Thanks again all!

    Diana

  13. Would LOVE a copy of what you come up with...I'm vegetarian and am realizing how difficult it is going to be on this cruise.

    Thanks!

    Laura

I would ALSO like a copy. I am not vegetarian, but my sister is, and, I tend to enjoy a lot of the vegetarian dishes as well. On my latest trip, I ended up ordering two of the vegetarian meals for my meal instead of the other options. LOL!

    Thank you!

    Diana
