  1. What is the material of the shirts and skirts?

The only time I would wear leggings is under my regular pants in a cold climate - instead of tights.

I don't have any with me right now to tell you the material. But they do tend to be pretty warm.

  2. Thank you for coming back and letting us know what you ended up doing, wardrobe-wise.

From a sociologist's curiosity: Which ports did you visit and did you see others wearing printed leggings? I'm wondering if the trend is going on; it used to be that the only women I saw in printed leggings in Europe were a very few Germans/Eastern Europeans and for some reason, they all had short orange-ish red hair and wore T-shirts with those leggings that did NOT cover their backsides ;) Now, black leggings with booties or boots were all over the place.

I went to Southhampton, Paris, Cherbourg, Bilbao, and Gijon. Honestly, I tend not to notice too much what other people wear. I did see some people on the boat with leggings. I also wore single color leggings, not just prints. And all my shirts covered my bum :) it was too hot for boots, otherwise I'm sure there would've been more of those.

  3. I've never gotten the drink package and I usually only drink a couple a day. I was considering getting the package they have now though that includes internet, which I would purchase anyway. I would also purchase the soda package anyway, so it's not that much more to get it all.

I'm confused though. I see people talking about adding a tip, but the online checkout adds 18% to the price of the package. My understanding was that was the tip built into it when you go to get your drinks. If you're having to tip, which I do when ordering a la carte, that would make the package that much more expensive, and what's the point of the 18% then?

I bought that package. I don't plan to tip unless I get above and beyond service.

  4. Is truly necessary for both my husband and I to both get a drink package. I know I should ask but is there a way around this if I just want a few drinks here and there and he buys the package for him and gives me drinks. I know I know... don't judge me but surely I'm not the only one thinking about this or has done it. #dontjudgeme

  5. One of the reasons we chose my time dining is so we didn't have to make reservations early. If we just show up when we want to eat I understand there might be wait. Has anyone done this/how long was the wait? If I make reservations now but want to change them the day of, is that ok?

  6. We arranged travel through the TA and she said it was rccl that was doing it. We leave at 530 pm I think and boarding is from 11-3? Idk. Just following what people tell me since this is my first big cruise. I went on a Viking river cruise, but those are a whole other thing entirely.

  7. I've had luggage lost forever, arrive late, and left out on tarmac in heavy rain, so I became a carryon only passenger.

    .

New decision! I'll be packing carry on only. No checked bags lol. Thanks!

  8. I wore mine to dinner with an Irma or other long top on our last cruise. One word of caution wearing Carlys though; the loose cut makes them fly around a bit in a good breeze. We were on the helipad of Navigator during sail away and I had to hold things in place.

Thanks! I'm looking into the nicole, as well. Probably wear leggings under the dress as well, and I can tie the Carly across like a wrap to keep it down.

  9. What I've done in similar circumstances is to ask at the gate. After some checking, they've always been able to confirm, though not guarantee , that they have received my bags from the connecting flight.

Thanks! I'll try this. (Might help relax my mind a bit if I know it's there.)

  10. On my last cruise a family's luggage didn't make it onto their plane and they had to board the ship without it. The luggage caught up to the ship at our first island. Their airline put it on one of those Caribbean island-hopping airlines and it got delivered to the ship. The family didn't have to do a thing.

Doubt they have that for U.K. Sailings :( oh well. Got some good tips on here for packing just in case

  11. Luggage would be the least of my concerns. Making sure I get to the ship with flying in the day of would be my biggest concern. Losing my luggage would cost me a lot less than having to get myself to the next port to catch up to the cruise.

True! Now I have a new thing to worry about lol. Honestly didn't cross my mind because the one time I flew over seas we arrived early.

  12. Suggest coming in the day before your cruise. Would never risk arriving at 7:00 a.m. especially on a international flight with two connections. Too close for my comfort level! I would be worried about personally making the connections/flights more than my luggage. Hopefully you have insurance in case you miss the sailing.

When I flew to Amsterdam for my Viking cruise we did the same thing and ended up arriving an hour early! I'm not worried about that really. But maybe I should be! So much to think about lol.

  13. Hoping you are flying in early before the cruise so your bags could catch up with you...

You have the right idea. Pack all essentials in your carry on. You can always buy an extra t shirt but swim suits and underwear may be harder to find. Take good walking shoes and one dressier outfit. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Be sure your bags have names and addresses on them and inside them. Mark them with colorful ribbon or straps or something that would help an agent spot them quickly if they are delayed.

Yep, flight gets in at 7am and boarding is not until 1. So if it's late, maybe we can wait. I just don't want to pay extra for laundry for the few outfits I can fit on carry on and stress about it while on vacation.

  14. So I'm flying from US to U.K. For my cruise, and we have two layovers only an hour each. I'm terrified they will lose my luggage. Anyone had that happen or not happen in similar situations?

Trying to figure out how to pack most of what I need in my carry on but also what to pack in my checked bag.
