  1. Not looking for haters, but I will be on the Star in November and I would like to know where on the ship smoking is allowed, Is there any bar that you can sit at and either vape or smoke? Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.

  2. When I first learned of the free parking at Miami I read up a little on it. It is available at all Florida ports and I think at airports too. I'm not really certain about the airports. Free disability port parking is a Florida law.

This is true to an extent, here is what the ports web site says.

    For Disabled Persons

Miami-Dade County Ordinance requires all guests with a disabled parking permit or license tag to pay standard parking rates except as provided by Florida State Law. However, two hours of complimentary parking will be provided to vehicles displaying a disabled parking permit or license tag.

In accordance with Florida Statute 316.1964, ONLY vehicles with specialized equipment such as ramps, lifts, foot or hand controls, for use by a person with a disability, or any vehicle that is displaying the “DV” license plate issued under s. 320.084 or the Florida Toll Exemption permit, is exempt from parking charges.

  3. How did you like this cabin and it's views?

I am booked in this same cabin for an upcoming cruise :)

The cabin was fine, the views were so so. There is no view to your left towards the bow of the ship, other than that it is a nice cabin.

  4. Scooters are required to be stored in your cabin when not in use. SOLAS prohibts them from being left in hallways or elsewhere.

Do the math on the square footage of a studio to see if it will fit (plus through the door). It likely won't.

    Thanks for your reply,

When I booked this cruise I was told that arrangements would be made, I am just curious if anyone else has traveled with one and what arrangements were made. I was thinking that I might be able to park it in the studio lounge, but not sure.

  5. Has anyone booked a studio cabin and taken a mobility scooter with them?

I am curious about where you parked your scooter. Do you have to put it in your cabin? Seems to me there would be no room to park a scooter in the room. Any info would be appreciated.

I am booked in a studio in April on the Getaway.

    Thanks,

    Buzz

  6. I have thought about just renting a car and going on our own, but I have not run it past my sister yet, and not sure if my GPS would work in PR. Walking is not an option for either location. I have also thought of just finding a cab driver that would take us for a nominal fee. Just trying to weigh all my options. As far as traffic goes in SJ, I have been there several times and rented a car, its nerve racking to say the least but you just have to adapt and drive like they do LOL

  7. We will actually be in port from 9am Wednesday the 26th until 2am Thursday the 27th of October. So we have a whole lot of time there, I just hope we can do both while the sun is still up. The rain forest is 4 1/2 hrs long, but if it leaves at 11 or 12 then doing both while the sun is still up will not be possible.

  8. Has anyone taken this tour on the Divina? We will be in P.R. on Oct 26th and would like to take this tour, my question is, what time does this tour leave and return? We also want to be able to visit Fort Buchanan as we lived there when we were young, and we want to make sure we can do both while the sun is still up. Thanks in advance for any info you may be able to provide.

  9. Divina is docked at terminal "F",,we've taken the tunnel twice now to get to the Port Of Miami when we come from I-95, and we park in the covered parking garage across from terminal "G".:)

As far as I know the Divina can be accessed thru the tunnel, She parks just before the ship turn around at the pier. I think you have to take the first left turn when you come out of the tunnel to get to her.:)

  10. I just received a loyalty match from MSC, I am a Black card holder now. Since I have never cruised with MSC what do I receive as a Black card holder? I am sailing on the Divina on Oct 22nd and I am just curious as to MSC's perks.

  11. It's not you it's their lousy website! Here is a thread that has expressed mine and many others' frustrations. I will never book directly with MSC again. It has been an extremely frustrating experience from not being able to log in, to being married to a man from the Netherlands with a dutch email address, (he's American) from my room being changed without notice oh, and forget about logging in or even managing your booking unless you fall on a good website day. The records remained unavailable for weeks. There's a lot more such as being born 13 years sooner than I really was. If you're still not sure it's not you, check out this thread. oh and good luck!

After reading the trend you linked I am terrified!!!

I am actually thinking of calling my local news channels help office, they do investigations on problems such as this. They usually have great results with these kind of things. Sometimes it takes a news report to get the companies they investigate to take action.

I called MSC earlier and was told the department I need to speak with is closed and to call back tomorrow at 9am.

I then went and looked at my booking info and noticed they have my sisters birth date wrong, she is now 7 years younger. Not sure about our friend who is traveling with us.

I have another issue I am going to be asking about as well. I am traveling using my passport, but my sister and her friend will be using there birth certs. and there is no where on the check in page for you to put that information, only passport info. Anyone know how you would go about using a birth cert?

Thanks for all the info provided.

  12. Is it me?? I am having a terrible time navigating and finding the information I am looking for on MSC's website. I am booked on the Divina in Oct and navigating there web is is a nightmare. I signed up for the match program and there Voyages Club, I am unable to find out if it was accepted because every time I try and log in I get a message that my password is incorrect, I then click on reset my password, get a message that an email has been sent to reset, but I never get the email. Anyone have any suggestions???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  13. Does MSC offer transportation to and from these airports?

I am driving in but my sister and her friend are flying in. I would pick them up and drop them off but due to an incident we had this past Oct I am thinking it would be better for them to take transportation from and to the airport. If MSC does offer this, how do you arrange it? Any info will be most helpful.

  14. The idea is to drive up to the front entrance then hand your luggage to porters (they line up with trolleys) or drop a family member to watch your bags. The conveyer belt used by the porters is only on the ground level (not on every floor of the garage).

Then you drive up to the parking garage, pay at the booth and park. Take the elevator back down to meet up with your porter or family.

You can also park first and carry your luggage down the elevators yourself if your luggage is manageable.

Thanks for the info, I will be by myself and only one bag, so I will probably park and take my bag down to the belt myself. Do you still have to deal with porters if you do it that way?

  15. I am new to MSC, so a Bella balcony will not have robes?

Can they be acquired if you tip the steward? I have always been provided robes on all the other cruise lines I have sailed with regardless of the price I paid.

  16. On my deck plans of Divina the H balcony cabins on

    deck 9; 9211/9214

    deck 10; 10128/10130/10143/10145/10206/10221

    deck 11; 11214

and deck 12 ; 12126/12128/12153/12155/ are marked as having double sofa beds,

the inside H cabins 8003/8004/8242/9244/10238/11246/12242 are marked a having a third guest bunk.

These cabins are still marked as I have outlined on the current deck plans on the MSC UK web site.

I'd take it up with them

    Pete

I sent my agent the info you provided, I hope he can get something arranged for us.

    Thanks,

  17. Buzz,

I personally think it will be a bit tight. I would suggest taking a look at some videos on YouTube such as this one:

Even though the beds are together in this video, you will have about the same amount of space. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I think you are right, so I will just leave it at home. We tried to book a HC room but they won't let 3 people in an HC room even though there is a couch in the room for a 3rd bed, thought this was strange.

  18. I will be on the Divinia in Oct. Traveling with my sister and one of her friends. We booked a balcony cabin and will have the beds separated and using the fold out bed as well. I have a mobility scooter that I would like to bring. Will there be enough room in our cabin to store the scooter? We were on the Getaway in Oct and had plenty of room for it. I don't want to bring it if it is going to be a big problem with storing it. I only use the scooter in ports, don't need it for the ship itself. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  19. I hope someone answers the question as I'd like to know also. Sailing out on Saturday. I no one knows, and I remember, I'll come back and let you know.

Thanks, and your impressions if the ship would be helpful as well, I have never sailed on the Spirit. I see you have been on the Escape, just would like to know what you think of the Spirit verses the larger ships.
