Does anyone have a favorite Main Dining room Deck?

I sailed on Adventure OTS a month apart this past spring. First cruise was on the lower level. The second cruise was on the second level and I preferred the second level. Interestingly the cabins we were in were only four rooms apart. So it doesn’t seem like room assignment and table assignment are based together.

Thank you all for the information on Coco Cay and alternate ports out of Galveston.  Interestingly, I had read a post about Coco Cay and stopped by Next Cruise...none of the printed itineraries had been updated yet and the gentleman there I talked to was not aware of any alternate ports yet.  But great to know they're out there now.

We are on Radiance OTS next month on a 9 night Key West/Coco Cay/3 other Bahamas itinerary. It’s sailing the same once in March. I’m excited that they will be doing more and a larger ship in 2024. Though I like the smaller ships.

So I am now in trouble with my husband!  I was finally able to get into the website/cruise planner to order (at 4:10 pm Pacific time).  However, I had the same problem many discussed before regarding it saying that they couldn't charge your card and to try another card.  So I did and received the same message 4 times...  My husband comes into the office and asks me why we have 4 charges pending to RCI. Ick!

Great fun!  So don't click the "charge your card" button more than once, even if it says that it didn't take your card.  (Hopefully, I should be able to remove those charges eventually).

Yep. I’ve been double charged, but the items are still in the cart.

I've never heard of quarantine decks on a Disney cruise.

I think the cruise has a few things against it.  Kids are in school, adult cruisers tend to not have Disney on top of their list, it's not the cheapest and of course hurricane season in the Atlantic.

We are on the Oct 26 cruise and if I booked today my price would be more.

We got moved on our Wonder Merrytime cruise from our selected ocean view on 2 because that area I picked was saved for quarantine. I did not like where they moved us (in relation to our adult kids) - so I upgraded to a balcony. I probably would have kept it, but my MIL was backing out of the trip, so I was already adjusting the reservation.

    • Animation Magic (available on 7-night and longer sailings on the Disney Magic)
Try your hand at drawing your very own character—and then watch in wonder as your creation becomes part of the show, dancing alongside some classic Disney characters. You won't believe your eyes!

I have seen a couple post COVID YouTube videos that seem to show this happening  on 5-night sailings. But the website indicates 7 or longer. Anyone have recent experiences on the magic?

  5. I’m sorry you had a sub-par experience on Adventure. I sailed on her 5 nights on March and then again 4 nights in April. We were very pleased with the MDR, especially on the April cruise. The wait staff was superb. I do think they were close to taking a break and going back to see their families in India.

We were pleased with the size of the ship and the ease to get around. I think I actually prefer her to Liberty’s layout.

Sorry, OB, I have to disagree with you here.

I've sailed eight times since the restart on five different ships.  Each time, they have made announcements as the day progressed..."half of the passengers haven't yet done the safety briefing"... "70% of passengers have completed the safety briefing".... "we still need 65 people to complete the safety briefing".... "will Passenger Firstname Lastname and Passenger Firstname2 Lastname2 please make yourself known to any staff member immediately"... and then finally, the Captain comes on and thanks everyone for completing the safety briefing.

The Captain also states that the ship's emergency signal will immediately follow his announcement, and it does.

Note that the ship's emergency signal is DIFFERENT than the ship's horn.  The emergency signal plays over the announcements, not just the horn out the top of the ship.

I’m with you on this. I’ve sailed Royal twice this year. The safety drill was super easy online - but they definitely also did the emergency signal live too.

I haven't seen it make an appearance in the cruise planner since the restart after Covid.

I’m hopeful that it will be offered on or 9 night cruise in February. It’s on the website in the things to do section.  I had not seen it before.
