  1. I agree, it was the attitude of the manager that was the most disheartening, not the fact that you could not use the free dining coupon. That in my opinion is unacceptable. Regardless of what level status you are, that is no way to treat a customer. I'm glad you notified guest services because they should be made aware of that rude behavior. He should of been extremely apologetic and yes, I think you should of been able to keep the last dining coupon due to their error which was none of your own. Since you were already in the process of using it. They could eat that up without much any off loss, it's better to retain customer satisfaction and keep you happy during the cruise. I've worked in hospitality before and these things could arise, however, when they do, we will not take it back. That part is extremely tacky .

  2. Hey I totally understand your concern. We booked a sailing on the sister ship Viva for this December. Our 10 year old watched the video tour with us and already complained the splash waterpark for the kids looked boring. However when he was five he was afraid of the waterpark, now he loves them, go figure. But im hoping the splash academy will have fun programs for them to help make things exciting. Plus they have some family fun game zones as well like the miniature golf, that he’s always loved since he was 4. But I’ll see when we go. I would also love to hear about the splash academy on these ships too.

  3. Out of curiosity, I did a mock booking for the same month the OP is referencing for both Symphony and Breakaway. Breakaway fare was actually MORE expensive than the Symphony for a mid-ship OV balcony. But it was obviously more expensive because the "free" drink package is factored into the fare.

Go with Symphony of the Seas, it will be a far better deal. We traveled on Harmony of the Seas last Summer for our first ever cruise and absolutely loved the cruise and Ship! This year we decided to try NCL and are just coming off the Getaway ship, really a downgrade for us. Yet paid pretty much the same prices, only for the drink package free because of the at sea promotion but paying for royal Caribbean drink package was far more a better value because it offered more and better quality drinks! The food was horrible in the NCL MDR, I’m usually not too picky with my food but, it was barely edible. Plus the wait staff was lackluster and showed no interest while serving us. Royal the food was great everywhere, MDR and specialty restaurants. We wish we would of just sailed on harmony again this summer. We will never sail with NCL. It’s a shame our second cruise was not so good in comparison to our first last year.

  4. Hey I live in San Francisco and would suggest the Hyatt Regency too! It's such a lovely hotel and the location is perfect. It's directly across the street from the Ferry Building. The Marketplace inside has a lot of cute shops and eateries. Our city is so awesome, you'll have a wonderful time :-)

  5. I would not book 5 people in one cabin. Our family just got off HOTS this past Saturday. My cousins and their father had accidentally made a mistake with their booking. They didn’t realize that their father had put them in one room. They assumed it was as two cabins. He has two cabin initially when he made his first booking but had booked on the wrong date and switched. They were 4 adults and one child. The cabin was 11170. They were not happy at all with the arrangements. Major problem was the bathroom issue. Only one bathroom for 5 people. In addition, they often was bumping into one another due to the sleeping arrangements with the beds being so close together. My suggestion would be to break up the five into two cabins. Three and two for each cabin. If you can get connecting rooms, that would be ideal.

  6. We had similar feelings. They acted like we were doing them a favor for stopping and giving them money. They had no interest in helping non-french speaking tourist. Although I believe in the old saying" when in Rome do as the Romans do" so no hard feelings on our part; our fault for not speaking french.

When we visited French Polynesia several years ago that was not the case, even though English is (was at the time anyway) their third language (behind Polynesian, French, then English). They seemed very helpful and glad to help us language challenged tourists. It was fun trying to communicate - - a lot of pointing LOL. If ever given a chance, I highly recommend that everyone visit F.P. at least once. Too bad that F.P. is so far away and very expensive.

That's interesting to know, I've never been to Martinique but was interested in visiting one day. I'm Guadeloupean so my island is part of the French Antilles like Martinique. Though we are a very friendly island of people. But I'm might be biased since I do speak French. But we do receive a good number of English speaking tourists.

  7. I think Martinique would be interesting. Or Guadeloupe

I agree!! Martinique and Guadeloupe would be awesome Ports! My family is from Guadeloupe and it's a beautiful island. The food is amazing!!! Beaches are incredibly gorgeous and serene. I've been going there since I was a kid.

  8. We booked our 4-year-old in a room with my father-in-law. Once we get on the ship, he'll just remain in the room with us. He's too young to even walk around with his own key. I will carry his sea pass card accordingly. I also made all our reservations where it linked my father-in-law's and sons together with ours. I also had my younger sister do the same thing with her 4-year old daughter. She is reserved with my brother, on the ship she will remain with my sister and hubby.
